@@chunchunma4ru Honestly I was amused and randomly thought up what a 'smash' titan/shifter might say in the aot verse. Watching abridged versions of AOT (A Slap on Titan) and the supreme wear (drip meme) brought thoughts of a what if Titan (smash Titan). Look those up and you'll see what I'm talking about.

pretty sure Isayama wanted to have that sort of theme for his conclusion given the major themes of the series include things like “this world is cruel” or “everyone is a slave to something”. for this reason I actually enjoy the conclusion to some extent
That was the whole point. In the end humans will be humans and the cycle of hatred will repeat itself. No matter how hard we fight or who we sacrifice, human nature will not change.
I didn't hate the ending but it could have been way better. I was expecting eren to essentially be the combined souls and minds of all his past and future fellow attack titan owners. I figured the collective spirit of the attack titan choose the boy Eren Jeagar to manifest themselves into and they were inherently trying to stop the rumbling from happen over and over but failing each time. So they reset the loop again and again by sending memories back to child eren. This is what I thought the nightmare sequence eren has in episode one was depicting (and why he woke up asking Mikasa when her hair got so long.) I assumed the story we were following was going to be the final playthrough of this endless loop scenario using the culmination of experience and knowledge gained through multiple lifetimes and attempts sent back to eren through the attack titans powers. The difference in this final loop being that Grisha finally managed to deliver the founding titan to Eren (via Eren influencing the past as we saw in the manga) I assumed all the future and previous attack titans where essentially one amalgamous spirit that can move through time by inhabiting the body of any attack titan weilder it needs to at the time, and that this spirit was directly and inherently opposed to the founding titan as it's the portion of Ymir that seeks freedom. I also assumed the founding titan was a similar combined spirit of all its past owners that wants many different things, as it's past owners all had different dreams and ambitions that would eventually be ruined by King Fritz pacifism ideology. I figured if Eren started the rumbling it would be because his mind is being fractured and bombarded by millenias worth of spirits who all have individual motivations, emotions, memories and ambitions. We would maybe see the rumbling start and play out but then have all this shit revealed to us and we get to see how the loop was resetting and the rumbling finally prevented through whatever means. Possibly Eren dieing or overcoming his madness through an internal mental battle where he manages to meld all the spirits of the past into one being that he merges with essentially becoming a new godlike entity similar to Ymir.
