    An excellent documentary made by hundreds of people. I appreciate you admit you didn't make any of it, but never underestimate the effort needed to create something as good as this. This is hundreds of thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours to produce. I wish you well producing your own original content as it's a huge effort but the results are worthwhile and may get you established as a director of original content in your own right.
    ( I work in broadcast TV and several friends produce internationally successful documentary shows).

      Thank you very much for your kindness. It's probably thousands of hours to produce this level of intricacy and quality - story-line, coordination of interviews, shoot, graphics, edit etc. I certainly cannot produce something of this quality (especially in the time of Covid) but certainly can produce a decent short documentary in the vain of James Jani or "Atlas Pro". @SovereignOne 3 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      @@barsxsalicia Possible and probable are different things. It could just be that the unlikelihood of abiogenesis to occur is a larger number than all the habitable places in the universe. You have to realize humans are barely out of the jungle. We are taking care of Earth as much as our capabilities allow and the information we have now is something we didn't have a century before when we started burning fossil fuels. We will take care of it better and better as we go along as it is evident now. We are only a decade or so away from replacing fossil fuels entirely.

      I assume you are talking about intelligent alien life forms as smart or smarter than us, inquisitive enough to search for other life. To say such life form exists definitively is very difficult. It would've been very easy if life was "designed". But the very fact that we came here just by random evolution over billions of years makes the probability very hard to calculate. Add to that other random extinction events and odd are stacked against the chance of intelligent life form evolving naturally. Also you need to consider the great barriers life had to overcome to evolve from a unicellular organism to the complex humans we are today. A small change in history like a supernova explosion near us could've made us lesser-intelligent beings swimming in the sea. Also, If you replay the same process again, there is little chance life will evolve into a highly intelligent form because that is what random mutation and nonrandom selection is all about. And then there is the limitation of physics as we know it now which makes it impossible for any life form to travel beyond the galaxy local group. If you think about it, you cannot find two identical grains of sands in the whole world with the same shape, size, mass and chemical composition. Your experience (as in many alien sightings) and beliefs don't stand a chance in the scrutiny of scientific method of deduction, analysis, theorizing and falsifiability. Scientists are looking for human inhabitable planets. At one point of time sun will turn into a red giant and engulf earth with no option for humans but to find a different region in the galaxy to live. Or even before that there could be another extinction event that will force us to take the drastic step of abandoning our home. These researches by scientists are paving the first step towards that eventuality. Finding other life form is just an added bonus in the way. Till then I'm honored - to be here, to be able to see the beauty of it, to try to understand the enormity of the universe and to be a part of it.

    • @JustinLHopkins
      @JustinLHopkins 3 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      I agree. It’s profoundly ignorant and the height of human arrogance to claim that we are. We only achieved flight a mere century ago and we can barely even manage to get ourselves into low earth orbit with any efficiency. The point is that we’re far too technologically immature to make such vast and all knowing conclusions. There could be a civilization that’s technologically on par with Rome within 20 LY and we’d never know. Place a civilization on our level on the other side of the Milky Way and it’s more than likely that we’ll both die out without ever knowing our galactic neighbor.
      Thinking we’re alone in the 21st century is like dipping a cup into the ocean and then declaring whales don’t exist. While looking at Hubble’s deep field, the thought of being alone becomes incomprehensible. We’re also made of the most abundant materials in the universe and life on earth came about rather quickly, so it seems absurd to me that life would have only arisen once. We know life can easily establish itself under the right conditions because we’re here, so the real question is how often does simple life evolve into intelligent life?

    In 1st grade of elementary school, I wanted to be an astronaut; 2 years later, on a school field trip, we visited the planetarium in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada -- what an amazing experience!
    I've always been fascinated by space and the potentials of space travel. Today, I'm still interested in space exploration and NOT the human colonization of other planets -- we already have a home planet, let's take care of one-another on this planet!

    • @SovereignOne
      @SovereignOne 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In the "short" term we absolutely need to take care of each other on this planet but in the longer term we HAVE TO branch out to other planets and star systems or we will perish. It's not if but when. The Earth is not forever, the Sun will evaporate the oceans and all life will die on Earth. We have a responsibility of preserving Earth life, we are the only ones capable of it, the sooner the better.

It is quite amazing how many have devoted their lives to attempt to answer some of humanity's challenging questions. It is equally amazing some of the success stories that have come as a result of their efforts. More still many lessons have still been learnt from the not so successful missions. The questions posed can not be single-handedly solved. It requires teamwork. It requires humanity.

      @@patidarinstitute A quick answer is: Planets (and the star) in a particular solar system form from the same rotating mass of matter left over from a previous exploding star. That is why most of the time the planets in a particular solar system and the star are on roughly the same plane, because they are made from the same rotating material. Different stars form in different parts of space and are therefore on different planes. The galaxy does rotate but it is not in one plane or "flat".

    On the one end, I love reading new comments. I try and give those who would've been otherwise burried and forgotten to get their voice heard.
    But on the other hand, they're often raw and unfiltered, and you're left wondering "the heck did I just read"

    I'm encouraged we haven't blown each other up yet. Perhaps the search and the hunger to know what's out there will help us appreciate who's here and how we can live long enough to make these steps and become galactic citizens.

      Nah... we still have humans strapping bombs to themselves for a religion... we aren’t making it to the stars... until that type of thinking is extinct.

      The populations are becoming more narcissistic and sociopathic. We better do it soon or it might be too late if most people are destructive instead of just a few.

      This is not a documentary... amazing how almost no one can tell the difference between real and fiction any longer.

      @Jeff Davis It was encoded on an old laptop when I was at the cabin and it was crashing constantly for anything higher than 480p. It is what it is. I'm not uploading anything new of this particular documentary. I'm sure you can find a 1080p version somewhere on the torrents or similar.

      Hi Shane 👋 I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this complement. If you don’t mind can we be friends? Thanks God bless you….
