- It's never a bad idea to have a little long term food stored around the property. Be it a boat, RV, camper, or just in your home. The comfort of having some food around can't be understated.

Always a good idea to have MRE’s or a similar product on hand. I can remember back in the early 90s we had a snow storm that knocked the power out for a week and the roads blocked, canned food and a wood stove pulled me through but some MRE’s would have been nice
Ah, the blizzard of 93?
I heard stories of them dropping food because that storm was so bad and no one could get out.
MRE's and or a variety of canned goods that can be eaten right out of the can or a way to heat them up or cook if necessary. Along with water, basic first aid reliable communications is a must In this day and age. It's not going to take much for everything to go off the rails, and when it happens you're not going to have time to make up for lost time.
I agree 100 with you- best to have and not need then need and not have
Have you ever seen those compressed sponges that swell up when they touch water? I imagine that's what happens when these go into your stomach. Hopefully they don't cause the MRE syndrome: meals refusing to exit.
I have not and that makes me scared to watch anything about it. Usually MRE are quick to exit if you know what I mean.
I used to keep MRI’s on hand during hurricane season when I lived in Florida. Glad I had em when Hurricane Wilma hit!
Everyone should keep a little extra on hand, you never know when you might need them
Never hurts to have something. Good video
Agreed, better to have an not need, then need and not have
Great segment sir. Thanks for the link. When i was in the Army, 1970-1980, we had C-rations. i liked them. Some were better than others. While in the reserves, MREs were starting to be introduced. They weren't bad either. When you're hungry almost anything tastes good. thanks for sharing.
Some of the newer MRE's are ok, some not so much. Back in the day when I was younger, the Army used to do maneuvers and camp out in the wood behind our house and leave us extra C Rations when they left. I always loved those C Rations, the canned pound cake was the best.
@@reloader7sixtwo we used to take the ham and eggs and mix it with the cheese and have an omlet. loved the John Wayne bars. Early 70's we got cigarettes too.
Thanks to the Army, I can no longer eat scalloped potatoes, hot or cold they were terrible.
Thanks
You're welcome
These look great. I'm allergic, though. My wife isn't, so a box of them may still have a place in my storage.
Sorry to hear that you are allergic, that makes it harder if you have an emergency
very true for travelling
it would be perfect for that
Great video. I do wish these were made in the US though..
Agreed on the country of origin
THKS
You are welcome
I've gone 7 days with just water. It gets easier and easier to not eat. I've never gone a month but I hear it's a concern because someone that's purposely fasted that long has trouble eating again. They don't want to.
Longest I went was 4 days. I agree. The first 36 hours were not fun, but then I had a boost of energy and felt no more hunger pains. Very interesting reaction.
@@FarpointFarms You ever wonder why fasting in the bible is usually 3 days(with a few exceptions)? it's the hardest fast. If you're going to be hungry and miserable it'll be in those first 3 days.
Another helpful video.I guess if you are starving you really don't care what country it came from.
You make a great point, if hungry enough you will eat anything.
Hmmm made in China no thank you. What came to mind first from China is Soylent green
That is an interesting movie for sure.
Until Hunter Biden's 3rd term wow! 😂
Lets not go there-
