Was one of the most fun sessions i have had, the cold weather made the 14a super sporty. Think its a good thing to not do it too often. Still plans to make some other 24h scenarios?
"Minor" point of order, though using the template makes it easier to build, B-52's do not use a diamond formation. They fly one mile in trail stacked with plus 500 ft vertical separation from the bomber in front of them. This is so there is no jacking around building a formation, at take-off each takes a "fan-heading" on departure then lead turns the direction need to first nav point and the rest turn the same direction then adjust position enroute, and it's more simple for pilots to main a trail formation than watching position to hold a diamond. For A/R with Tankers launching with the cell, it's a matter of 2 & 3 moving laterally and slowing, the tankers come over the top to pre-contact and plug the bombers. Afterward, just a matter of 2 & 3 moving their lateral position reestablishing cell integrity. Three ship cell is the standard but can be much much bigger as the mission that pioneered the tactic demonstrates. The tactic was pioneered for the fire-bombing of Tokyo by the God Father himself Curtis LeMay, instead of wasting time and fuel joining up for formation (the rear aircraft in a formation always uses more fuel than the others), bombers went direct to the target using the one mile in trail, they were also stripped of every gun but tail armament... 300 some odd aircraft in total on that raid I believe. That mission did something else the enemy wasn't ready for with a large bomber strike, came in low-level. Downside was several of the bombers toward the end of the string were destroyed due to thermals coming off the inferno created. Then again, B-52's weren't stripped of their tail armament till after the Cold War, shortly thereafter, so a B-52 in DCS as a Cold War model without the guns is a little bizarre, but that probably just me.

I'd like to know like whats the plan for it as in will it be spawnable with points or could you just hop in it like the majority of jets in the server.

There is actually nothing you or we can do. The German server we have is better than the last server (and more expensive). There are some really bad problems with DCS 2.9 that seems to be impacting the larger servers much more than the smaller servers. I and the other server owners talk and we are all basically out of ideas of what we could possibly do. We were already planning on changing servers and when we switched over to DCS 2.9, we saw the ram usage shot up, which made us switch server boxes so we could have more ram. We are frequently reaching 100GB+ of ram utilization - our last box only had 64gb and our new one has 128gb. So the TLDR is that we aren't unique in this situation and it has nothing to do with the server location. It's an issue with the game right now. The ping numbers being registered in DCS aren't even accurate... Every time you change slots, your ping goes up by 2x. The last time a big patch came out (2.8), the server struggled heavily because of the crater bug which caused perma FPS loss for the server. This took about 2 months to fix. I just mention this to manage your expectations, if history repeats itself, it can take 2 months for this to get fixed.
Do you guys know what happened with your SARH missiles and radar at the beginning of the engagement? I feel like that kind of systems issue lends to quite a lot of realism when you have to think on the fly as things don't quite go right. Thank you for the enjoyable video - love the MiG-21bis!
That event was super fun. More multiplayer servers need to do bad weather scenarios, if not for just high-altitude fights, at least to practice instrument flying and landing.
A big reason why our server does not do bad weather is because the AI in DCS can see through it. So you will be flying in a big fog bank and get sniped by some AI who has no radar assisted gunsight. We used the bad weather on this mission because the focus was on a2a.
Just a heads up the Tomcat can shoot the Phoenix A’s active off the rail with the ACM switch cover flipped up, meaning the missile will not need to be supported until pitbull as it goes pitbull off the rail. Only really works inside of 15nm but worth noting that it’s slightly different than what was mentioned at 10:00.
Watching the video now! I really wish I didn’t have a busy weekend when the event was going on so I could also get a recording. Who’s flying around in the F-14 a couple of times it was a lot of fun! Can’t wait for the next PVO Great vid 👍

I was playing on this first bombers round also and had the same problem with my missiles as Drewski, odd. The event was great, I had a lot of fun. Keep up the good work, thank you very much for what you do.
This event was just so pretty. Cold temps and everyone over the cloud cover because of the blizzard meant everyone was contrailing, beautiful shades of blue and white constantly. Event really was a blast. Always funny catching your own voice in a Enigma video too lmao
Can u make cold war server in wt. WT has more planes then dcs and has map and mission redactor. Also u can make tanks present in dcs cw or warthunder cw, it can work like it works in il2 also it can make bmps and btrs in warthunder actually useful, so they can transport troops like helicopters.

This event was awesome. Kept getting Fox 1'd by the F-14's every time I got close to the bombers. Very, very challenging but very fun.
