Hui, leader with the killer vocals, said his lyrics were inspired by African-American graffiti artist Jean-Michel Basquiat who often incorporated a crown motif in his works. The quotes are better attributed to Basquiat in the RTK finale (which has English subs). In his commentary Hui mentioned the struggle Pentagon has had between making music the industry favors and creating the kind of music they want to make. They decided to carve their own path. So, the theme is resistance. Hui writes, arranges, & even produces a fair amount of their songs. He wrote Dr. Bebe, too. I'd love to see you react to Shine, their biggest hit, and ShaLaLa (it's Korean name means something like fun Saturday night) since they're quite different from what you've seen so far. Thanks for the reaction!
Thank you for your reaction to Pentagon! They are one talented and all-rounder group yet so underrated:( Their leader, Hui, wrote and produced most of their songs and they took part in all of their recordings and album also help in choreographing their songs! You can check out Shine, Like This, Sha La La next:)
i can't wait to see what else you think of pentagon's other stuff! they're one of my ult groups so i'm extremely biased but i love everything they put out.
Hui, their leader, did the 6 high notes (AND composed Basquiat). He did it LIVE during the Road to Kingdom performance, even while doing such a hard choreo.
PENTAGON ARE INSANE!! They legit have three of the best vocalists in the entire industry. Two of them can hit ridiculous notes like that: Jinho and Hui. Unfortunately Jinho left to do his military service partially through Road to Kingdom, so he didn't get to participate in this song, which means that Hui was delivering all of the belted notes here, and damn did he kill it.
There are 9 members but you won't see two of them here Jinho the oldest is in military he is the main vocalist And yanan is in hiatus for about a year now so you will only see about seven of them here! Also the guy you said making the high notes was hui another main vocalist and their leader
Hui sings the high notes mostly (the one you noticed doing the higher notes) and he is the leader. Jinho would have it and probably could do it in a higher octave, but Jinho was enlisted recently. Jinho has insane vocals. I love Hui's voice though because it has that rasp to it. I highly recommend seeing this performance on Road to Kingdom. They sing it live. They put some much effort and emotion into the live stage - worth seeing. Honestly, all of RTK is worth seeing! Hui also hits that high note live perfectly :) it will give you chiiiills.
@@V3actions Also, if you want the background/song meaning for Basquiat - th-cam.com/video/2FAqMWFNG3A/w-d-xo.html&feature=emb_title Hui explains it here. It's very meaningful and powerful!
Yep! I think he talks about it in the video above. He also tells the story of seeing the art in person and how that tied into his writing process for the song I believe. I'm really glad he personally shared his story on the writing process and how he was inspired by Basquiat.
LOL i see the "I trust" album in the background hehe!Thank you so much for your reaction, PENTAGON is so ridiculously underrated while they are so good! If you can listen to their most famous song I would recommand SHINE, you can also react to SHA LA LA, HUMPH to get to know their versatility because they used to do upbeat and cute songs too. But if you want to know PENTAGON as of now I think you should react to the whole The Black Hall album with dr bebe as title track because this album is a masterpiece. There are 11 songs and they are sooo good for real. Thank you so much for your reaction!
V3, you must check out their collab stage with ONF on Road to Kingdom! They covered Kill This Love, but it becomes a psychotic theatrical performance It is jaw-dropping.......
@@V3actions yeahhh kingdom hasn't come out yet. Road to kingdom was somewhat of a pre-show to choose one group (the winner) to get into Kingdom. Sadly pentagon didn't win cause the other group had a slightly larger following even though Pentagon were the oldest group there. :( but they did their best and showed what they can do
Dude how you doing? A FYI: you've got to jump on irene and seulgi monster vlog...i just saw it and its amazing! I liked this but I stick with 5 guy groups only and it recently got close to being filled. Bts, ikon, ateez, added txt. This is a workout song for sure...and basquiat is the name of an legendary graffiti artist, I think. Looked it up when I first heard this song. Good selection. Stay safe and I need to see u react to the monster vlog if possible. Stay safe.👍👍👍
After seeing this reaction, I’m going to have to check out Pentagon too! Loved the song and vocals.
Yes! They killed it!
Please do check more of them 😘
