    So nice to have colored inside of the envelops... I mostly make my own envelops, diagonal from 12", color fit to my project. I bought the thinnest cheapest scrappapers.. or the sales.. with one side white. Then I make the envelop with the white outside, but the colored side inside. Normal card sizes fit in 12" design papers, for bigger card i make envelops from 2 papers.. 1 sheet with top & glue flaps.. score and a another a for the back. But i realy love your way to pimp up the regular envelops.. Thanks for this nice idea..

What IS the measurement or even an example of the possible measurement, please? Or the rough estimate based on the size of a given envelope. There’s discussion of paper….? Well! This is a bit revolutionary for me Sasha, and I love it! I have a huge stash of cards, for every situation, but so often something will happen and nothing I have is perfect for what I need, so I’m creating something in a hurry, and I ‘don’t have time’ to decorate the envelope - But, as you say, I could always manage 3 minutes, so thank very much. My creative package is about to ascend to the next level. Yesss! 😆. Just by the way, recently I’ve been making a whole heap of cards with alcohol pearl ink backgrounds (Yupo card) and Nuvo shimmer powders - how would you suggest going about inserts for these cards? Thank you 😀

    • @SashaReade
      @SashaReade  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      OH yay, so pleased you found it so inspiring, thank you so much for the encouragement and kind words. I have also been toying for ages with playing with some alcohol inks! Im not sure what you mean by inserts? I always make card fronts and mount them on a base and if it's dark then i put a piece white card inside

    • @dinkuminkum
      @dinkuminkum 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SashaReade Sorry, I wasn’t very clear about that. I was meaning the piece to ‘insert’ into the envelope to make the card and the envelope match. I haven’t managed to make alcohol pearl ink or Nuvo shimmer inks work on a paper base - they’re just too thin. But actually, I’ve just realised, if it’s a background that I’ve make myself, then I don’t need to worry about copyright, and so I can just photocopy it and the piece I put inside the envelope will be a perfect match with my card - Yay! Thanks for asking me the question Sasha, I wouldn’t have thought about it if you hadn’t asked me to explain - two heads! I have always loved making my own backgrounds, but I found that the alcohol pearls (Tim Holtz) and the Nuvo shimmer powders just take it a new level altogether, and it’s sooo addictive - in a good way 😂. Happy crafting 🤗

  • @margaretsmith8002
    @margaretsmith8002 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great idea, thanks. Can I just ask... when the envelope is opened, say with a letter opener, won't the bottom half of the paper just fall out, or am I missing something?

    • @SashaReade
      @SashaReade  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yea could do, i never open letters like that so never thought of it. I always open at the envelope seal. You could always sick a few dots of glue under that part to make sure it doesnt fall out

    • @SashaReade
      @SashaReade  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You could also just seal it with a sticker rather than licking the seal and the recipient would likely just pul up the stickered bit?

    • @lynnbulwinkle2304
      @lynnbulwinkle2304 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your envelopes really do make it look like a very expensive envelope with cards. I never realized that it could make such a positive difference. Love it!!!

    • @laceandbits
      @laceandbits 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Would it really matter if it did? The envelope will probably only be thrown away anyway. But if they did use a letter opener, the bottom half of the paper falling out might be the only bit they see as the decorated flap will still be stuck down.

    • @minikraut
      @minikraut 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't line envelops I'm sending by mail because of the "letter opener issues" - I only do with the ones where the flap can be tucked in loosely or fixed with a sticker. But using just a square instead of having to measure everything, great!

    I expect in 200+ comments someone else has said this, but the reason why your square was too big for the pink envelope was because the T-square on the left should have been lined up along the inside of the glue (to match the ruler on the right) not down the outside of the envelope itself.

    This is an easy way of embellishing and add a « plus » on our enveloppes .thank you, Sasha.
    People really like it because I make nice enveloppes, inside and/or outside. When I mail a card, I put only flat things , but if I give it in hands, I also put some blings and die cuts, stickers, anything that go with what is inside the enveloppe. I go with the theme

    My envelopes are 4 3/8 x 5 3/4 ". From the tip underneath the glue line to the crease it is 1 3/4". I can't get your idea to work. Are there some exemptions to your rule.
