I live in Australia, where the Yugioh community is really small and it's a fringe game compared to magic and Digimon. This is probably the closest I'll get to experiencing a regional until like, the end of this year

Was the dragon going through was the right call or no? It just needs to be sent, it doesn't have the "If this face up card on the field leaves the field" in the card text. UTC flipped it down, took it out, and you either went MP2/End Phase. Your End Phase, the opponent then activated the board wipe. It says "If this Fusion Summoned card in its owner's control leaves the field because of an opponent's card: You can destroy all monsters your opponent controls during the End Phase of this turn.
However, if the judges let the other player trigger the board wipe before the End Phase, lets say during the Battle Phase and/or Main Phase 2, then yeah bullshit call all the way. An illegal play at that.

Unclear of the mirror jade ruling your looking for but from what I understand if I book of mooned your mirror jade then I raigeki your mirror jade wouldn’t proc because it’s status changed to a “unknown card” you and I both know it’s a mirror jade that was summoned from the extra deck but because status went from face up special summoned to face down unknown it wouldn’t proc I ran into that same problem before with another card at a tourney :(

This time thing has to be corrected, they keep making combo decks that take longer and longer to put out, yet we're stuck with such a low time limit. There's no reason why we can't get the time limit to be 60min more games can be finished, and it'll cause less draws and less moments where your opponent just takes their time to either get the W because they're higher in health or cheese the match by somehow increasing their health, or burning you for life. Too many times have I had game on field where my opponent couldn't do or accomplish anything because of my unbreakable board, but they still were able to burn me for a small amount of health or gain a little bit themselves and win on time. Even admitting that I would have won next turn if I were to have it.
At the very least the time rule needs to change to 3 final turns once time is called instead of end of the current phase, cause usually in those last 3 turns the game is over anyways.
U mad about long combo decks but as a old duelist, I prefer these new shit then old crap tht literally has deadly loops when can't do nothing

This whole issue with time has to be fixed and from what we are gathering from my friends chats we are of the thinking that the YCS event was a testing ground for expanding to 45 mins as then it would limit slow play somewhat as I have seen too many games decided by mere hundreds of points and that's not right
even 45 minutes is rough when the game is played by two people who are very well-matched. I think an hour is a good limit and that we just need to start having the tournaments and regionals start two hours earlier and ON TIME. This would give people time for three 15 minute breaks between round 3, 5, and 7 depending on how well they are doing and then less people will lose to time and the people left at the end will almost all be genuinely good players

For starters make sure not to shower at least a few days in a row before the event. Bad smell gets good draws or something like that

went to my first regional. lost a game to a guy that stalled. I'm not talking playing slow im talking i have game on board and he has 0 cards in hand no actions he can perform and he found a way to waste 2 minutes. Then another guy forgot a trigger eff on resolution, passed priority then goes "oh actually cursed eldland" bruh you already set a card how are you using gy eff of eldland. Lied to a judge judge took his side was the only reason he won. Total B.S.
See this is exactly why I'm thinking the computer version is better. All orders are activated when they're supposed to and all activations/inability to activate is done correctly based on what's on the field/gy etc etc. Imo, the game is far too complex now to play irl with confidence that everyone is playing properly

My friends and I were at LA regionals last Saturday and we tried to come by and see you but missed out because by 8pm I ended up having to leave....
But funny story: my friends named our yugioh team Bang Bros. Had the sweatshirts too, then one of the judges saw the sweatshirts and asked one friend to take his off and the other two had duct tape covering the Bang Bros. logo on the back. The one judge in the entire regional event just happens to know what Bang Bros was 🤣
