It's nice to see a video that features all of the small boat operations in Vietnam, not just the Swifts and PBRs. Operation Stable Door so often gets overlooked because there was very little actual combat. I served with Stable Door in Nha Trang and Cam Ranh Bay and never once fired a weapon in anger.
I served on Swift Boats out of Da Nang and Chu Lai circa August 1968 to August 1969 on PCF-16 and PCF-69. There's a lot of story to tell here but the quick and dirty is I spent the first half of my tour patrolling the near coast line in I Corps. The second half of my tour was spent in the river complex south of Da Nang who's main channel was called the Cua Dai River. In the Cua Dai River, the crew and I experienced many gun fights. I had forgotten that Raymond Burr was ever that young.
I remember when he was a lawyer then a cop. Good to se he finally got out of that wheel chair. I always hoped he would walk again
that is Raymond Burr.....LOL --- amazing...you are so right.
My dad met Raymond when he toured Vietnam in 64-65. We have pictures of the visit.

Amazing part of the war. If I’d been slightly older I I would’ve wanted to serve on the swift/small boats in Mekong delta.
One thing they dont tell you. Swift boat casualties were very high.
Then he went and met with the VC behind Americas back
What was the boat they used in the movie Apocalypse now?
