Oh man I just came across your channel and subscribed. I almost lost it. I'm 72, my first bike was a old used 24 inch cruiser . Springer. In about 1959 . That's exactly how I made mine look.Took the fenders off, flipped the handle bars. It was already black. Except I put white hand grips on it.. you created the same cool look . Like over 60 years later.. Thanks.
I got the bike I got the chrome wheels with the white walls just flipped my bars and now the next step lubricate and put a springer front end on. Thanks I loved the video.
Got the same bike, I added 1000w motor on the front forks, removed the coaster hub and added some decent brakes. Pushes about 1.4 hp top speed - 55km/h over 70 downhill, you can't hear it coming, never thought I would lean a bicycle like that.
Josh , I decided on the same 'project' during this mess. the frame was a 24" cruiser. modified to resemble the Batman emblem. used 3/4" & 1/2" conduit for the modifications. cut 5/8" off both ends of 'stem housing'. extreme curve and extension to springer forks, bought spring with crown& hardware, built the rest. 44 tooth odyssey sprocket 3" arms, with a Sturmey Archer 2 spd kick shift w/coaster. absolutely zero cords/wires. I'd like to share some pics or short video. but not sure how.... still under construction. 26" rims. 'Ape Hangers' from a Motorcycle
Love it man! The flipped bars always do it for me!! I can't ever pass a vintage bike at a garage sale. I've got 4 right now that I haven't started on yet. Too many hobbies man lol
I clicked on this video thinking that you'd actually be building a Springer front end I'm just realizing this Huffy that I thought I had from the 40s is actually from the 80s haha
Sweeeeeet, I was looking for a springer fork for my schwinn delmar and came across your video. I like the cruiser look, but I'm wanting some more functionality than just a total rigid single speed
iT IS INDEED WORTH FINDING A HOME FOR THE SPRINGER FORK. i WOULD NOW GO FOR THE OLD FLAT TRACK MOTORCYCLE LOOK HANDLEBARS , HIGHER AND MOR PULLBACK. tHANKS FOR THE VIDEO
So do the truss bars(the straight ones) go on the axle first or do they sit on the outside?. Or maybe one on the inside and another on the outside? Im having problem with centering/mounting the wheel on properly...
@@JoshHarrisRides I found mine on Amazon. Just hit Bat-Wing bars for bicycles, all sizes. They still have the low swept-back look, but not as extreme. I really like the old board-track look! I have schwinn mtb from the early to mid 2000's and I want to put a springer on it, and add a strong e-system. Kind of a "Ratty/Old Skool" combo, with cafe lines. Already painted the first flat- black, next to be gone over with some brassy copper a/la sponge technique. My e-bike was done in this style and it looks old skool with a touch of Steampunk. (still dirty though!)
You would have to buy a fork with the mounts(brake bosses) already installed. It was a PITA to find but finally found one. I have v brakes on my springer. I also do believe that there is mountable brake bosses that clamp onto whatever fork you want...
@@micksmartin3z545 mounting is not an issue, my question was if you pull the brake, would that make the front of the bicycle go down or up? I had a piaggio ciao with a springer front end (different springer design) but when pulling the front brake the fork tries to expand (rather than retracting like tubular forks), which makes it really unstable and stiffens up the front.
What were the wheel size on both bike's, the black bike looks bigger then the other, the real question I have is, can I get a Springer fork for my 29in wheel?
DUDE I JUST FOUND YOUR CHANNEL AND I ABSOLUTELY FUCKING LOVE YOUR CHANNEL MAN!!!!! THIS SPRINGER CRUISER LOOKS INSANE. HOW MUCH DO YOU PICK UP THOSE FRAMES FOR? AND IF THEY ARE EASY TO GET WOULD YA FANCY POSTING ONE TO THE UK FOR A PAYPAL TRANSFER MAYBE? ONCE AGAIN I SERIOUSLY LOVE YOUR VIDEOS MAN, YOU SEEM LIKE A FUNNY AND COOL CHARACTER. I JUST SUBSCRIBED:) WOOP WOOP!!!!!
LOL That seems a bit ironic. He turned his bicycle handlebars upside down to look more like a cafe racer. The only reason cafe racers looked like that is because they wanted wider handlebars for better control, so they started taking them off of bicycles, and they just turned them upside down so the driver could lay flat in a more aerodynamic position. He turned his bicycle handlebars upside down so they would look more like upside down bicycle handlebars. 😂

Love the Springer Fork it would look cool on my front end of my 1950s felt liner cruiser two-stroke gas bike
Right 👍 on boss looks great.. looks cool im going to order one but in black for my motorized bicycle...
The more !# up to drive the bike, the less time for the thief to get away with it😁.
Thank you, nice job! greetings from the Netherlands.
I got a springer fork for my Sting-Ray. Feels really weird right now, but I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually.
You do some nice rat work, man. You’re absolutely right.... It’s too cool not to keep. I’d like to see more on the Hawthorne too. Thanks, Josh.👍🏼🤘🏼😎
Looking at buying to springer forks as well should be awesome!. great video!
The forks look just like the ones on my Shizzle stretch cruiser. Good work man! Looks great!!

oh, and cut a downward point off some 60ish Schwinn forks (solid&thin) put a bolt through that to imitate the actual bottom of 'Stem'
Great Video. It helped me out A LOT when trying to change the forks on a 26" cruiser. I'm STILL working on it!

Great work man, I just purchased today a spring fork and will install it on a Huffy Nel Lusso 2019 bike, thanks for the how to😎
your bike looks sharp .
It does look cool. Good job.
😮 Bike is awesome brotha
0:05 I love this red beautifull bike!!!
Nice vid and bike!! Would like to see you do a video of the Hawthorn!
You weren't sitting around doing nothing... Lets be honest, you were staring at the bike, and admiring your work... I do it all the time haha
Is it possible to add a different handle bar🤔
hit it with a hammer! money. thank you bro.
I clicked on this video thinking that you'd actually be building a Springer front end I'm just realizing this Huffy that I thought I had from the 40s is actually from the 80s haha
Cool! Love it! You should find some bikes to part out and build a recumbent bike!

Did you use the original screws nuts and washers for the fork? I’m planning to do this with my bike that doesn’t have the springs

Where is the best place to get the spring fork like the one in your video ?
Could you tell me what Springer front end you put on your huffy
I would put a Bat-Wing handlebar on that bike. Have one on my e-bike and it really looks and feels good. Just my opinion, nice work!!
Where could I find one

Can you swap out the front forks for forks with shocks?
Is it possible to put a front brake on that Springer front end?
Did you use the original bearings? Or did the fork come with a new set?
I just got my fork and it become wobbly and it leans to one side and scraps by the tire what can i do
heey, i put a springer onto my Kmart Huffy cruiser.
How i know the since that I have to pick?
Where can you get those bars ?
I think the Indian leaf spring frontend would look better plus it would be safer.
so if you are making a rat rod why not add a suspension fork and more gears like a 12 speed with a grannie gear ?
lean backseat posts make all the difference for larger riders..
How do you put a springer on with that dropped look?
Man it took that long to switch that. It only takes my a few seconds
Does it work nice with a front brake? Have you tried? My concern is the fork movement when applying the brake.
I'm wondering myself that too, I have been doing customization of my bike, and swapped the coaster back wheel with a 7 speed freewheel rim

All mine are 26 inch. You could probably fit a 29 in a springer but you would not be able to add brakes
@@JoshHarrisRides hmmm, got to have front brake, thanks for sharing.
@@JoshHarrisRides can he not add disc brake?

Thank you.
