I tear up every time I hear The National Anthem!
One of my favorite memories was when my Mom and I stopped at a lake for the 4th of July. When they played the National Anthem, all the adults stood and we sang it !.There were people of all kinds all around the lake, singing and it was SO powerful. Then we saluted the flag. Many adults wept. There were kids who had no idea what was going on . They knew that we knew something they didn't. THEY'RE NOT BEING TAUGHT... HOW SAD.

All Americans have a duty to protect what America really stands for. If someone tries to end democracy we have a duty to see it and use whatever means necessary to stop them.
We are not a democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic. A democracy is dangerous and that's why elites use that term instead of what the constitution says. Please research the difference.

I LOVE this! Thank you for sharing. (I'm a former costume- mistress!!) And I feel the same increased gratitude for our country. My nephew was just instated to command an air force base here in the US after years in Okinawa then Germany. The ceremony, which my sister recorded was incredibly moving and patriotic. I'm so proud of my nephew and his family!! 🇺🇲💝🇺🇲

Thank you for your service and I don't say it to just "thank a veteran" or for likes on social media. My grandfather fought in WW2 and my uncle fought in Vietnam. I lost my best friend to overdose after he returned from Iraq. They sacrificed a lot. Enough that they never spoke of it and now they've all passed. I saw the effects it had on my uncle. It was terrible. He lost his family and couldn't handle thunderstorms for decades. My oldest friend who was more of a brother, would call me a 3am many times asking if God would forgive him for the things he had to do. I assured him that God would and wanted too, that he is loving and merciful beyond our comprehension. I held back my tears until our conversations ended, for his sake. The things he shared with me about war, what he survived that he probably shouldn't have, things he had to do, and the pictures he had of bodies that no longer looked human, was the closest thing to Hell that a person could imagine.
To think of all you soldiers who did what you had to and then hear people today whining like they've sacrificed ANYTHING and down our country or burn our flag, makes me want to show them what being a victim truly is 👊😡. I apologize for the rant. May God bless you.

I’m saddened to hear about the big mouths constantly bashing this country. My Dad served during two wars, and my Mom and her family escaped a dictatorship ruler. Most of those people have no clue what life is like on the other side. I’m blessed and thankful. And a big thank you to you, Megyn.
I've become more patriotic. My parents were children during WWII they new what death, and hunger looked like first hand. They are from Eastern Europe. My mother and her family were in a concentration camp. She was 8 when her father died. she and my grand mother survived typhus. I'm first generation American. As a child I didn't realize what kind of gift my parents gave me. I'm glad they aren't here to witness all the terrible bs this country is going through. They never would believe it. Not here. I have always had an emotional reaction to our National Anthem. To think of the lives given so that we may live free, how thankful I am to be born American, and what a truly great place America is makes me tear up every time!

Left the US Army in December 1971 @ 74 yrs of age and i have to really watch myself so i don't tear up when the anthem is played and it really upsets me to see ball players especially pro players or people disrespectful by moving around or scratching themselves or picking their noses, they are being absolutely unthankful!!!

Every July 4th when I was a kid, my parents would have a 4th of July party and before we lit off the fireworks, my dad would read the Declaration of Independence to the entire gathering.
The Reason for the Season is what he would always say.
