- today I am ranking some of the most legendary and influential metal albums from various subgenres! Between heavy metal, to death metal to nu metal and more, there's no denying there are many iconic metal albums!

I really love how metallica is always on top, truth be told they are just that good, my favourite album of theirs is ride the lightning!

I think you should give the green Emperor album another chance - Anthems.
I wish these bands were included in the list: Blind Guardian, Satyricon, Ulver, Arcturus, Cradle, Alcest, Carcass, Morbid Angel, Enslaved, Eluveitie, Rhapsody, Primordial, Tyr.
But, can’t include everything I guess.
When 10000 days came out, Tool pretty much told us from the start how long it was going to take for them to release the follow-up to it.

cannot recommend Panopticon by isis enough... such a fantastic album
Agalloch the mantle is such a beautiful album (one with the deer) everyone should sit down at least once and listen to it.

Props on the endeavor. Ranking 100 albums is a LOT of albums. I'd definitely have to do it individually because if I were comparing each album with the other albums it'd take me 100 years to finish the list lol.
The cover you mentioned I believe is Tool Aenima.

The last two Sleep albums are Sleep’s Holy Mountain (it has a song on it called Dragonaut) the one with the astronaut on the cover is called The Sciences.

So cool to see you're a fan. And i think you should reconsider not listening to Sunbather by Deaf Heaven. Very cool. It's shoegaze black metal.
It's kind of crazy that Leprosy and the two Cannibal Corpse records were the only pure death metal albums on here. Morbid Angel fans in shambles (aka me)
Also, two of the albums in the Haven't Listened tier that I highly recommend are "Panopticon" by Isis and "The Mantle" by Agalloch. They're both post-metal albums, and they're both excellent

i think its the top few bands of each meal genre and linkin park were considered nu-metal along with limp bizkit and korn , nirvana was grunge
