13:43 cross stitch is the easiest embroidery in my opinion - my grandmother taught me when I was very little and I still love it when I get the chance to do it.
Yes I’d say a kit first too. I love Caterpillar Cross Stitch. They’re based here in the UK but they do ship to the US, and they’re very beginner friendly because they don’t have half stitches or backstitching. 😊
As someone who has tried and failed other crafty things like crochet and knitting, cross stitch is pretty easy. Simple stitches. The hardest part is counting correctly so you don't mess up the pattern. You can start with small kits, like a Christmas ornament or something
Brass Armadillo! I literally screamed when you said you were going there. We lived in the Phoenix area for 6 months and it was a regular thrifting spot for us. Yes, set aside several hours, bring snacks and water and just get lost in the amazing treasures!
Cross stitch is the hobby I picked up during covid and actually still do!!! You really only have to know how to do two main stitches and have the patience to count out a pattern. I love it, and it's a great way for me to keep my hands busy without being in my phone
Cancer is your sister sign and they are the most most nostalgic sign - as a Cappy you can totally take on Cancer traits so the collecting & nostalgia is so normal! I am a Cap rising so I am completely same! ❤❤
Literally save your videos for meals whenever they are out and I miss big thrift stores so much so this was sooo fun. Also that person at the drive thru was so lovely. ❤
I bought some vintage salt and pepper shakers a while ago at a local antique mall. I was amazed by how many options there were as well. I asked the store clerk about it and she said people collect them. Sounds like a fun hobby!
The antique mall is an all day exhausting and amazing event for me. I just can’t help but look at every little thing. I live in Cincinnati and one of our big ones has a little concession stand so you can take a break and refuel with a hot dog.
Cross stitch is amazing. And as someone else who struggles with adhd- it’s been an amazing hobby for my mental health. Lots of communities and great people!
Your vlogs are something I look forward to every time you post. You are such a kind, wonderful friend to hang out with! Thank you for providing so much content for us!!
Omg!!!! The brass armadillo is literally the best antique store I have EVER BEEN TO! I screamed when you said you were going there!! Please make another video shopping there! I love seeing what you point out and notice because there is SO MUCH TO SEE there that it’s easy to miss some treasures. Please go back!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Your videos are my absolute favorite ♥️♥️♥️ look forward to every single one!! Cross stitch is not hard at all! I was actually cross stitching a little stocking while watching your video! It’s so fun, easy and relaxing. Highly recommend as a hobby! 🥰♥️♥️
Carrie, I’ve never commented, but you discovering Liberty Falls (the homestead restaurant) is possibly my favorite thing ever! You are my fave creator and your videos are always so comforting. Wishing you a joyous holiday!
Stop!!! I just got smacked in the face with nostalgia. My mom had that cat salt and pepper shaker growing up and I remember wanting a sweater to match the pink flower one the lady cat was wearing. She’s not even a cat person so idk where they came from but I absolutely loved them.
I love little salt and pepper shakers and i also love polly pockets and everything miniature. When I'm old, I'm gonna spend all my money on that stuff. haha
Cross stitch is super easy! It can be a little monotonous so start with tiny projects (think palm sized) so you get the fun of finishing things. Then you can start working your way up in size. Make sure you get kits, rather than just patterns so you have everything you need. I love Spruce Craft Co - a woman owned small business in Australia with the funkiest designs!
I signed up to be "santa" for a family who signed up through sort of an angel tree type gift program this year. I got paired with a single mom of 6 kiddos and I had SO much fun thrifting for trendy pieces to add to the gifts I picked out for them. I literally did that today and then came home to this video - how fun!!
Cross stitch is very easy. The only trick you need to know is to make the crosses in the same direction each time to make it look good. Just go to Michaels or Joann's and get a small kit to try 💡
Here to recommend needlepoint over cross-stitch to start off. The canvases are painted, so no counting or guessing, and each stitch is only half of a cross-stitch stitch!
I love cutsie salt and pepper shaker sets. I would have been in a puddle trying to resist them all! Your willpower is admirable. There is a place like this a 90 minute drive from my house in a place called Bowral (near Sydney) and I’ve gotten lost there for hours at a time. My poor girlfriends were waiting on me gawking at everything while visiting. I bought a beautiful decorative plate there with a pheasant on it and accidentally knocked it off the wall a few months later. RIP 😢
Omg yessss!! Always wanted to make it to Brass Armadillo but havent made it just yet. I also really enjoy walking around the big thrift mall in Mesa on Main St.
Cross stitch is not difficult but so fun! I cross stitch ornaments for everyone in my life for Christmas every year, and even though some patterns are intricate, it’s so rewarding and so beautiful!
All those salt and pepper shakers made me think of the Salt and Pepper Shaker Museum in Gatlinburg. I have never been but you should totally go, lol. If you went to Gatlinburg and did a vlog that would be amazing!
I feel like there needs to be a second village full of incorrectly sized structures that Carrie just really thought were cute but the mayor didn’t approve of.
Hi Carrie, Im watching your videos from Hungary and I am so sad and devastated because we do not have these good opportunities for thrifting but I love love love your videos and style. Merry Christmas girl ! 🌲😘
Oh my goodness is that the Phoenix location? I have been there a few times. Never saw an upstairs. How fun. That's an all day affair lol. I want to go to Call it New Call it Antique soon. I like that place too. Have a great week.
It's the tediousness that makes me feel it might not be the best hobby for Carrie, BUT I would also never discourage her from trying something she's interested in!
My phone tries to translate the whole video to German with a crazy sounding voice over. 🙃😂 I LOVE YOUR VLOGMAS 🥰 (I need to watch the rest of the video on my iPad, where I can watch the original video 😁🥰)
Me personally, I really like small cross-stitch projects, I find it really therapeutic, but tried to do a bigger one once and felt a little crosseyed doing it, so maybe try small first!. It is the cutest thing. I like embroidery a lot, I feel like it is more free flowing than cross-stitch. I feel like you don't have to pay attention to the placement as much as you do with cross stitch so feels less painstaking for me.
Carnival glass!!! That peachy, iridescent stuff - was designed to look like the much finer and much more expensive blown iridescent glass. The name Carnival glass was adopted by collectors in the 1950s as items of it were sometimes given as prizes at carnivals, fetes, and fairgrounds. However, evidence suggests that the vast majority of it was purchased. That set you saw was probably from the 1930s.
My local antique shop had a full set of ice tea pitcher and 8 tall glasses, with the most adorable strawberry motif. It was so Carrie coded. I turned to the boyfriend and said “if only I was friends with Carrie.” 😂😂😂
Check out Merchant Square in Chandler! It’s an amazing antique mall with a huge clothing area, and there’s a restaurant / bakery attached. The hubs and I love to pick out a big ol’ cookie and then shop away!
There’s an 85000 sq ft antique store near me and one time I went with someone who was on a time restraint and I was like how the heck are we supposed to have fun looking at all of the things with a time limit 😭. It’s my heaven for sure.
We have so many antique malls here in Colorado just like this one, if you ever visit. My bf and I literally could spend all day in them, it’s just such a treasure trove! My wallet can’t handle it.
cross stitch isnt hard! its kinda like paint by number with thread especially if you get a set. dont recommend going to big for your first project though
Question how often do people fail to give you decaf? Because they could really screw someone up when they don't get the order right .. my lactose free self can relate 😢
Carrie PLEASE go back to this giant thrift store again sometime!! This is absolute TOP TEIR thrifting content
I love that the mayor rules with an iron fist. I think his commitment is really holding the chrismunity together.
Take a shot every time Carrie says “this is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen” 😅❤
I NEED to know if the little homestead restaurant was approved by the Christmas town mayor 😂
It was unfortunately denied 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 it was, however, approved for shelf decor lmao
😂I love the mayor's passion for his town
That antique mall is ICONIC holy cow!!!
What a fun day we had together!! I wish I lived near that antique market. 😮

Thank you for doing Vlogmas for us! It’s not an easy time of year for so many and these videos lift my spirits. Thanks Queen ❤
This means soooo much to me, thank you 🥹🥹🥹🫶
13:43 cross stitch is the easiest embroidery in my opinion - my grandmother taught me when I was very little and I still love it when I get the chance to do it.
Cross stitch is so easy! If you’re worried I recommend a kit. My favorite cross stitch kit maker is Junebug & Darlin. 😊
Yes I’d say a kit first too. I love Caterpillar Cross Stitch. They’re based here in the UK but they do ship to the US, and they’re very beginner friendly because they don’t have half stitches or backstitching. 😊

my mom and I collect novelty salt and pepper shakers and I was dying watching this at all the cute ones!!
Your Vlogmas videos are the highlight of my week ✨
This comment was the highlight of mine 🥹🫶
Just wanted to let you know you are doing amazing with vlogmas!!
Thank you so so much!!! 🥹🫶
Love how you’re in the shop and can still hear the Mayor 😂
“it’s not to scale!” 😆🤣
Brass Armadillo! I literally screamed when you said you were going there. We lived in the Phoenix area for 6 months and it was a regular thrifting spot for us. Yes, set aside several hours, bring snacks and water and just get lost in the amazing treasures!
It is sooo good! I want to go back already!!!
I am rolling… *pans to animatronic elf* “slightly terrifying”… *pans to animatronic elf holding a knife* ..”more terrifying…….” 🤣😂
that antique store was incredible!! im loving your vlogmas this year ❤
i really like the more vloggy vibe thrifting video & would like to see more thrifting videos like this!
omg the rabbit at 8:27 just unlocked a childhood memory. We definitely had those!!
Cross stitch is the hobby I picked up during covid and actually still do!!! You really only have to know how to do two main stitches and have the patience to count out a pattern. I love it, and it's a great way for me to keep my hands busy without being in my phone
Too bad you couldn't have gone to my grandma's estate sale. Her kitchen was fully strawberry themed.
That was so healing! Thanks Carrie❤❤ antiquing is my absolute favorite thing
I enjoyed this trip so much! Thanks Carrie 🦩🎄🦩
That Christmas glassware was from Arby’s! My family had it 😂
Cancer is your sister sign and they are the most most nostalgic sign - as a Cappy you can totally take on Cancer traits so the collecting & nostalgia is so normal! I am a Cap rising so I am completely same! ❤❤
Literally save your videos for meals whenever they are out and I miss big thrift stores so much so this was sooo fun.
Also that person at the drive thru was so lovely. ❤
That thrift store outing would have bankrupted me. So much good stuff!
I bought some vintage salt and pepper shakers a while ago at a local antique mall. I was amazed by how many options there were as well. I asked the store clerk about it and she said people collect them. Sounds like a fun hobby!
I've never wanted to go to a store more. I wanted to see everything!

Ooooh yes, you'll definitely need to return to this antique store. So many amazing things!

THE CARE BEAR CUP CARRIE OMG I wanted jump thru the screen and snatch it I'm so ill lmao
I love The Brass Armadillo! One of my favorite places to get Disney Christmas pins every year.
I love little salt and pepper shakers and i also love polly pockets and everything miniature. When I'm old, I'm gonna spend all my money on that stuff. haha

MY SHOW IS ONNN!!!
We have a Brass Armadillo in Missouri! My Dad and I always pick a full day to spend there once every few months. Such a special fun time.
Omg the bunnies or Easter eggs with the Easter scene inside them were my childhood obsession!
Same! I still have two with the early 90's Hobby Lobby sticker on the bottom 😂
Cross stitch is very easy.
The only trick you need to know is to make the crosses in the same direction each time to make it look good.
Just go to Michaels or Joann's and get a small kit to try 💡
christmas duck!!!!!
Here to recommend needlepoint over cross-stitch to start off. The canvases are painted, so no counting or guessing, and each stitch is only half of a cross-stitch stitch!
There are printed canvases for cross stitch too!
If you're ever in the area, my friend owns Bully Brew Co. over in Peoria. It's SUCH a cute little coffee spot and cafe in Park West!
Thank you, Carrie! This video cheered me up. 🩷
13:46 cross stitching is really easy! you should totally learn!🤎
There’s a closer Brass Armadillo off of the I-17 and Cactus (my favorite location)!!
We have that exact Mrs. Claus in our lobby at the hotel i work at along with Santa. They scare me every time i see them 😂
I could spend literally all day in the Brass Armadillo 🥰
I love cutsie salt and pepper shaker sets. I would have been in a puddle trying to resist them all! Your willpower is admirable.

During my holiday break I will be going thrifting. Now I just need a friend to go with.😊
I cross stitch and it’s soooo much fun!! Great for ADHD girlies who put a show on and need to fiddle with their hands
All those salt and pepper shakers made me think of the Salt and Pepper Shaker Museum in Gatlinburg. I have never been but you should totally go, lol. If you went to Gatlinburg and did a vlog that would be amazing!
Love how all antique malls look the same.
I’ve been to that antique mall! Note for next time: there is a bathroom upstairs near the vending machine!
I feel like there needs to be a second village full of incorrectly sized structures that Carrie just really thought were cute but the mayor didn’t approve of.
i didn’t think i needed this video as much as i did. “idk maybe cows” LMAO. now i need to go to my local antique mall!!
Never been so early. 😅 exactly what I needed for a Monday morning!
DUDE I WANT THAT KERMIT
i’ve been collecting old muppet toys. especially ones from fast food toys. such a cool find!
Your videos make my day❤😂
I may need to drive up to phx for that antique mall!!

I taught myself how to cross stitch. It's super easy just tedious. It's a great hobby.
It's the tediousness that makes me feel it might not be the best hobby for Carrie, BUT I would also never discourage her from trying something she's interested in!
We have a brass armadillo in Nebraska and it is my FAVVVV

12:48 lol at Luffy peeking at you behind your back. As a kirby fan, Boxlunch/HotTopic always have nice Kirby merch.
My local antique shop had a full set of ice tea pitcher and 8 tall glasses, with the most adorable strawberry motif. It was so Carrie coded. I turned to the boyfriend and said “if only I was friends with Carrie.” 😂😂😂
Why could I smell that case of My Little Pony toys? 😂

OMG just got to the end of the video….ignore me 🤣 I Can vouch for Merchant Square!
This was so much fun! Is your coffee place a Dutch Bros?❤
dying to know if the restaurant was approved by the mayor !!
There’s an 85000 sq ft antique store near me and one time I went with someone who was on a time restraint and I was like how the heck are we supposed to have fun looking at all of the things with a time limit 😭. It’s my heaven for sure.
