These were neat blowers. I’m surprised it’s 30 years old and it’s still working. Mcculloch airstream blowers are definitely the thing of the past nowadays. I have a super airstream 4 except it’s a blower vac. I’m surprised it’s still showing life too and good compression and spark and it still ran after all these years. You should use choke for it to start faster. Is that ethanol on 8:45?
I’m starting to like these more each time I come across one. They definitely have a more unique engine sound than other manufacturers. And no I don’t think that was ethanol, I think it was two cycle oil leftover after the gas evaporated out because it was green in color. It could be anyone’s guess though lol.
@@BackyardRepairs you still have to be very careful with the ethanol content in the gas as it will slowly ruin your engine. I’m pretty sure they have been and are still the best blowers out compared to the throwaway society lawn equipment. And mcculloch lawn equipment was still more reliable in the 90s. And mcculloch is not the same company as it used to be anymore, since quality has gone downhill nowadays. And now the new lawn equipment out today, no matter what brand, is now and yet more likely to end up in the scrap after a couple years, especially from Lowes or Home Depot or tractor supply, or Walmart, or whoever sells outdoor power equipment. I would not go with brand new lawn equipment since they break faster than the old ones did. Even repairs when new equipment are more complicating, while older lawn equipment from up to the early 2000s. I would go with used lawn equipment since it is much easier to repair, and yes I like the good old days of a Weed eater GTI15T
Thanks! This is actually the first carb without a primer I’ve seen outside of being on a chainsaw. I’ve seen a majority of the bulb carbs on blowers and trimmers so far
