When Lee left I was seriously worried TAIM would lose a part of their identity. Lee gave the band a remarkable and unique sound and was arguably the most talented in the band. His grooves, speed and overall sense of rhythm gave the band that "edge" over other deathcore acts. Jesse is such a worthy successor, he's not only replaced Lee he's even brought his own style and groove and it fits perfectly with TAIM's style. His drumming on Eye for an Eye for example, is so interesting, idk, how he just grooves at the beginning it's refreshing. And that bridge before the huge breakdown kills me everytime it's just so good. I'm really looking forward to hearing him play live and see how he does because he sounds phenomenal here! P.s. as always, thank you Marthyn!
@@oskarcolumb yep but i'm sorry to tell you that lee leaves the band on 2019. Not too bad, i'm a big fan, but i have to recognize lee's game were not really fresh on his last album. Many awesome drum fills became usual. So jesse is here to give a new youth at drum. That's my opinion, hard to get new fills when you play since 2006 in the same band
@@udaman100 thx for explanation i wasn't aware, sorry for the bullshit -_-' That's why we can see him and jesse on many videos. I've found that weird but now i get it ^^
I started out back in 2008 when I was 14. Searching yt every day vor metal drum lessons like this. But there were almost none!! :D I just remember watching a guy called spikeydrummer. I would have given my teenie life for a lesson like this, at that time :D
Its funny that a lot of drummers actually find swivelling more natural with the left foot (at least thats the impression I got from a number of videos). I also tried to implement swivel and found it OK for the left foot, but the right one was the problem. Maybe the reason is, that you are used, from the early years of practicing, to do other fast motions with the right foot?!
I went to a George Kollias drum clinic many years ago. He said that his doctor told him that the 'swivel technique' is no good for your knees. So he doesn't do it anymore. You can seriously injure yourself or cause long term damage. I heard the man say it in the flesh. I cannot speak for Jesse, he is a professional so as far as I concerned he can do what he wants. But for any new drummers out there, don't imitate the swivel technique. Focus on keeping your feet inline with your knees.

Because Thigh Art Is Murder.
Booooo
thors blot You gotta be the one metal head not into tattooed women lmao
thors blot: By far the gayest comment I’ve seen in a long time.
“Everyone will complement you on that huge piece of tribal”
- Tattoo artist at The Rusty Needle
thors blot I’m with you, disgusted by tattoos on girls
Those kicks are insane

What kind of pedals were those?
Hey Marthyn, will there be any option of buying single lessons from DTA in the future? Great channel btw, keep up the good work!
hey hey...regarding the channel: thx alot...
regarding the single lessons: nope :-)
What drum set is that?
React to Baard Kolstad, drummer of Leprous

i saw jesse and the thy murder boys last summer and the brutality was real...really awesome.
what pedals is he using?
czarcie kopyto it is a polish company very solid and good pedals
My playing shoes look the same for the same reasons, haha
i have the same. the left is better. accept when i alternate and speed up. my left side stop swiveling
Hands down best drummer on the kit currently.
What happened to lee?
Scott Swift he quit
I thought he was the drummer of black crown initiate
Jackson Kirk was
Jackson Kirk after Lee Stanton took a leave from Thy Art, they picked him up
He is VERY good. The funny thing is that almost everyone watches George kollias videos so that he can see what he does
