I just bought one 3 days ago specifically to mow/bag a 20 x 30 area for my little dogs to relieve themselves, and taking care of mowing around a few family cemetery plots. I purchased less batteries, as I have many for my other tools. I used one of my 9ah batteries and only used half the charge of one battery to do all the mowing mentioned above. So far, I'm extremely pleased.

I have a feeling that the mower died at the 2 bars (for the battery) because of the soil, on the video, that part looks like it's more like mud (his hands are really dirty when swapping batteries and the color of the soil is more brown than the rest, but I could be wrong). If its wet and the mower sinks a bit, it will stall.this happened to me on my lawn. I'm a new owner, though. Used 3 4ah batteries and a 2ah and still couldn't finish. Just purchased 2 6ah batteries...we'll see how it goes!
I'm wondering if he made a rookie mistake and left the mulch plug inside. It comes with the plug already in it, and if you don't take it out, very little shows up in your catcher AND it uses more power because the blade is working harder. I own a Ryobi 13" and get 40 minutes or so of run time per battery.
So glad I found this video. Like most I have tons of Ryobi tools and batteries. I only have a .25 acre lot and thought according to Ryobis claim I’d be able to mow it all. After this video and another video I just watched about melting terminals and 9 battery changes to do his yard I’ll be passing. Going to go with the HF atlas 80v I think. Thanks for the review. I just picked up this mower and unboxed it. There's a huge plastic flap on the bottom of the mower. That's the only issue I'm having. It is still running on the first battery, but it's hard to push because of this flap. I was hoping to find a video explaining what to do with it.
Not sure which flap that you are referring to. The one on the back of the mower is there to protect you from flying rocks if you are mowing without the grass bag. When it's closed, the mower will work harder because it is mulching the clipped grass instead of flipping it into the grass bag. Try running the mower with the grass bag and/or raise the the deck level. You may have to mow your grass several times by starting with the highest deck level and then working down.
@@rockpaperstone8722 Hi, I raised it and tried with the bag attached, and it was so much easier to maneuver. The flap I'm referring to is on the bottom across the back. Mine is distorted now, but it's not as big an issue with it raised higher. Thanks.

Amazon might have them too
Sorry, but it is not cubic yards, it's square yards....
I've answered this before but once more doesn't hurt. The math is correct but the engineering units are wrong. I caught this once during early edits but it somehow made it back in the final version. Good eye!
Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower th-cam.com/users/postUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.
Wow that was pathetic! Those batteries were useless. Was thinking about buying one, nit any more, glad I watched this video.
Sadly disappointed. I purchased one & with both batteries only got 18 minutes tops! They both overheated. Thinking of returning it.
Like 5 minutes per 4ah battery... Holy smokes. It would take ten batteries for my small plot. No chance.
Also you were NOT pushing the mower hard AT ALL. My gas mower would do those plots in no time and wouldn't even go through a quarter tank.
I couldn't get this piece of crap to go farther than about 15 feet without battery ejecting. grass was not even that thick. seems anytime I hit even a minor bump, it shuts off. maybe I'm doing something wrong
Dude.. I Like How You "Did Not" Put The Product Down.. But, Got Your Point Across.. IT SUCKS.
I Almost Purchased The $299.00 6ah 20 Inch Push Unit Today.. Thought I'd Check Some Reviews Instead Of Impulse Buying.. (Have A Old Corded Now) Even With My Small Lawns Less Than 3 Mins Is A Joke.. Now I See Why Folks That Purchased The $299.00 Model Say Their's Is Dying Out After 5 Mins.. They Truly Are Overheating. Since Home D Has A Liberal Return Policy.. I May Try Out The $499.00 7.5ah Just To See.
I just got the new for 2021 Ryobi 21 inch model RY40115OUS from Home Depot. I will have a video review posted soon. The previous 21 inch model received a lot of mixed reviews. This newer model seems to be an improved machine.
I noted that this is branded as one of their HP units, meaning it could probably benefit from the higher output HP batteries, but still not impressed. Even if you had dual 9amp batteries, you MIGHT get about a half hour run time (and hours to cut a small area if it's overheating). They should have just stuck with the 40amp models and kept the smaller batteries for the hand tools.
What are you mowing????.....That's not a Lawn.....Thats leaves and twigs .
Pretty much all I had in February. This little mower works great for small jobs. I use it to trim in places that my gas mower is overkill.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who runs out of battery power half way thru. This product is garbage. My wife bought this thing against my wishes and now I have to deal with it
so basically its a toy.
Lol, it's a great toy. Just needs bigger batteries I guess.
I got 1 battery
Hardly any power and turns off every 5 minutes because of safety. Tf I want you to worry about my safety
How can Ryobi sell this? They should be ashamed of themselves. Perfect for old people who have no strength, but the life of it is abysmal.
Definitely for small jobs and tight places!
They are still selling this mower, and it is still garbage. I just bought one which I now have to return.
I'm still using mine for the tight spaces in my lawn. It's been dependable but the weak batteries still limit its effectiveness.
You're yard is nothing but dirt and brown leaves. Crazy crappy test environment . Retest it on actually green grass. Mowing 5 to 8 inches.
Lol! You and I both stated the obvious. My tests made it easy to extrapolate what mowing deep grass might be like. I'll go out on a limb here and guess that the battery life would be even less. I still have the mower and it works great for trimming small and tight areas.
Seems like crap
The worst lawnmower
