How to colour mam....what type of colour we can use?

I believe the powder they use to color the husks is aneline (anelina) a very toxic chemical that people use in Mexico often to color artesanias (hand crafts)
Very high on led. You will never be able to find it here in the US to paint your crafts. In Mexico they sell it in every school supply store.
