They are narcissists and feel they are beyond reproach and divinely justified, because they are caring and providing for a large number of women and children. I'm not sure if it is Eastern Orthodox or Roman Catholic religion being referenced here, but the Roman Catholic church doesn't allow divorce for any reason. You can get separated, but you can't remarry. The only way is to get the marriage annulled. To annul the marriage though one or both parties had to have been deceiving the other before marriage without the knowledge of the other party and since the vows were made with deception, the marriage would be considered invalid and null.
