He is one a few in a generation that gets into your heart and soul that will always be in your mind, especially Blue on Black, its addictive to the soul. This 64 yr.old can't get enough of his amazing talent 👍😉💗
The singer Noah Hunt has got to be one of the best blues singers ever! I just love his voice. Amazing!!! They make a great team. KWS vocals on the chorus are a great addition too.
I was there for this and was amazed at Noah Hunt up close...he gets big vocals with absolutely NO effort! It was a short but awesome set...thanks WIIL for the opportunity!
Kenny and his band are very talented. It is a shame that so few people (relative to the mainstream) actually know about him let alone get into his music.
the singer is incredible, the solo is ethereal, without this singer this song is good but not timeless, my little shit band plays this but they dont get the emotional part, love you guys.
@JDMorris81 Speaking as a guitarist myself, of course. Honestly, the way I see it, if he can solo like that on an ACOUSTIC guitar (not easy at all... Especially that style of solo), he deserves a ton of recognition. Plus, he is an amazing songwriter. The lead singer Noah is great, amazing, even, but its a very recent illusion that leads people to believe the vocalist is the most important. Its the music and lyrics, and Kenny Wayne is amazing at writing and playing both.
I usually don't get caught up in comments - its called KWS Band and the highlight is the guitar playing. I love Noah Hunt!!! I'm not agreeing with this comment. Because its a band. The guitar solo's is what I wait for - live is the best. If you see his latest album - Noah is front and centre in the pictures together. The band would not be the same without either Kenny or Noah. However you look at it. It's a band to me. Kenny is my favorite :)
When it's called the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band, you assume it's him singing. I always found it odd that he named it that way. Van Halen wasn't the Eddie Van Halen band.
I was at the taping of Miss Etta Bakers song with KWS, Miss Ettas' grandson was my drummer at the time in my Blues Band. RIP Miss Etta, gone but never forgotten...
@Jon R Haha, yeah. This guy is undoubtedy my favorite guitarist past the 90's. I mean, especially considering that country music nowadays is pretty much the only genre that uses guitars beyond a lame beat/melody... Anyways, it just pisses me off that guitarists arent important anymore. I mean, the singer has always been the face of the band, but at least before now, people knew, respected, and needed the guitarists for their songs.
@benjamin975 Seriously... When BB King says about you: "...never since I first saw Stevie Ray Vaughn have I seen the blues so alive as seeing a young kid in Portland Oregon named Kenny Wayne sheppard..." I think it's fair to say while Noah is a fine musician in all regards, KWSs solo is flat out amazing and the main draw of this band/group for a reason...
Right at the end of the song , off to the left of Noah, there is a white, orange, and green schecter jaegermeister guitar...my guitar instructor won one just like it at the Pittsburgh leg of the Rockstar Mayhem festival during their audience shredder contest...what a day that was...
Hey Kenny, Have you heard of Scott Holt??? He played with Buddy Guy for 10 years before he went out on his own. He's been traveling the country playin' real blues for a helluva long time!!!!! And you won't meet a more authentic person in your life either. He's a helluva guitar player!!!!! PLEASE LOOK HIM UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You know, I thought exactly the same thing about the solo break. It's much tougher "bending" notes on virtually all acoustic guitars, the primary left-hand technique for most blues-rock-jazz work, besides the 5-note "pentatonic" scale. He seems to go for his usual electric guitar solo, which IMHO loses a lot since he hasn't got the volume or tones of pedals and amps. Ditto on Noah's voice, kind of perfect the way James Dewar was perfect for Robin Trower's spacey-Hendrix-y Bridge of Sighs.
the singer needs to get out there with a solo project... forreal, he's got one of the best voices ever.. what the real question is though, is if he's a good song writer. this song is great, but im not sure who wrote what on this song, not only that, but im not sure if there other songs match up to this, i havent heard there other stuff
As a bass player I never minded being set back three feet or so from the front line. In fact, I liked it. But as I used to tell hot lead guitarists full of themselves, “they may like to listen to you, but they come to dance to me.” I used to play this with heavy chorus and reverb. As anyone listening to this, gee, the bass just may be important. Sound a little thin? Sounds a LOT thin. Would it have been a strain to have a bass player albeit standing in the background even with chubby little Miss Caffeine trying to gin it up. She sell some kind of energy drinks on the weekends at the local gym?
@benjamin975 Right, his vocals are the focus of this song. It's a simple tune and any dime a dozen blues guitar guy can solo over the progression. I have watched a few KWS vids on YT and he does refer to himself in the 3rd person, a bit strange. On this vid he talks about discovering blues guys even he hasn't heard of and exposing them... even more strange. I don't really know much about KWS but it all seams a bit commercial to me.
I agree, Kenny get's too much credit. It's a good thing he's a great guitarist cause that's the only good thing he's got going for him. It's Noah's vocals that carry the band
you'd figure they would have a semi capable board guy at a radio station... goes to show how great these guys are dealing with that maroon behind the audio board
Noah Hunt has such an incredible voice. It's seriously legendary.
would have been nice if the interviewer had at least given Noah's full name - Noah Hunt, he has a great voice
Yep!
Reminds me of Dave Grohl’s singing , like an identical match.
Am I the only one who hears it?
He is one a few in a generation that gets into your heart and soul that will always be in your mind, especially Blue on Black, its addictive to the soul. This 64 yr.old can't get enough of his amazing talent 👍😉💗
Such a great song. Stands well with the classics.
The singer Noah Hunt has got to be one of the best blues singers ever! I just love his voice.
Amazing!!! They make a great team. KWS vocals on the chorus are a great addition too.
This is Nothing like the original video. These guys are almost as old as me.
love Kenny W Shepherd and really have enjoyed his music over all the years...but lets give respect to the vocalist too man....
Are you related to Gak Zakalagafis?
I came away from their show more impressed by Noah than Kenny.
@georgezafirakis
Agree 100%
@@mantis707 😂
9 years later this joke paid off!!!!! YESS you made my day brother! @@GeorgeZafirakis
I love the lead singer's voice.
Noah Hunt great singer

that guys voice...on my god, he is lovely, he should be....on every raddio station...he is unforgettable....
Wow! Best version I have heard. Can’t believe I had to wait 9 years!!!
Just seeing this now and damn.....
Kenny and his band are very talented. It is a shame that so few people (relative to the mainstream) actually know about him let alone get into his music.
I think that adds to how special he is too.
Coolest musicians EVER! Looking out and lifting up other talent! Absolutely top 5 song ever!
This guy can sing!!!!
Great Band !
Love it. Ive been doing an acoustic jam on this for years with my buddies. The guitar I can handle but wish I had a voice like Noah! Great song
mybrainsplayinguitar lol

the singer is incredible, the solo is ethereal, without this singer this song is good but not timeless, my little shit band plays this but they dont get the emotional part, love you guys.
Seen these boys..3 times..want more..PITTSBURGH
OMG This is sooooo awesome. I love Jammin this song
I can’t agree more with BigSyn. Noah’s voice is incredible. This is such an underrated band.
This is real sweet version of this classic song
Thank you so much for a awesome video...
Supremely underrated vocalist Noah Hunt is.
great singer

The Black Crowes and KWS double-bill show would be amazing.
Great version of a great song!
i love this
Damn, I've never been to a concert....I want to see these two. Wow, I'm a Riggs..... I'm Cherokee and Irish not sure on the Riggs side .
Their so good they have became one....awesome. Maybe I should ask him to teach me to play.....I'd pay lol
i always though Kenny sang on the song

Ooooh oooh Blue on Black
I’m in love with Noah Hunt!❤
"Sometimes we do a hybrid of blues and rock..." wow, he invented Blues Rock 40 years after the fact.
Shon Blackwell Pretty sure he didn't say they invented it, but good job trying to start something out of nothing.
No kidding. What a jackass. He said nothing about inventing it. Get a life.
No kidding. What a jackass. He said nothing about inventing it. Get a life.
song starts at 3:18 if you don't want to wait for it. I'd love an MP3 of this!
Awesome
Wow!
Thanks!
White on gold.
i will say, awesome............
Love me some KWS!
There’s actually a guy who eats mcDonalds Big Macs everyday for decades and he’s incredibly skinny and healthy (was on Supersize Me 2)
This is irrelevant 😂
@JDMorris81 Look, Kenny Wayne is an absolutely amazing guitarist. I dont know if you play the guitar, but anyone who does will tell you he is amazing.
@Jon R Haha, yeah. This guy is undoubtedy my favorite guitarist past the 90's. Damn I always thought that legendary voice was KWS.
Noah Hunt has been with him over 20 years. Great voice
I just discovered this myself tonight on youtube😂
Im a drummer can I drum for yall

His All The Dark Things album is great

Check out an amazing unbelievable great guitarist Luke Hamrock he is incredible!
I'm Noah's brother
One-hit band! That’s all folks! Ain’t no mo!
Noah Hunt’s singing reminds me of Dave Grohl’s singing , like an identical match.
Am I the only one who hears it?
yada yada kenny just let noah sing
I feel bad for them that they have to play this same song over and over for the rest of their lives
interesting video
Noah is/ was the soul of the band. Great music but without Noah, it's just another talented guitar duo.
Love the song, love Kenny and Noah. I sorta wish he wasn't flat picking the solo though.
I know this stated 9 years ago but in the KWS solo , if not flat picking , how would you suggest playing the solo ?
BUDDY FLETT
Noah has the vocals, yes. But Kenny has the guitar.
"whos kenny wayne Shepard?" "hes the guy that plplays the song 'blue on black'" "oh man, i love that tune!" -kws's career on a social level

Kenny Wayne shepherd is or was married to Mel Gibson's daughter. I just learned that.
Hey Noah.......Go out on your own.....
Billy strings bro
I agree, Kenny get's too much credit. It's a good thing he's a great guitarist cause that's the only good thing he's got going for him. It's Noah's vocals that carry the band
Why does this guy get all the attention? That's F'ed up.
Johnny cash
you'd figure they would have a semi capable board guy at a radio station... goes to show how great these guys are dealing with that maroon behind the audio board
Singer isnt given enough credit
Mel Gibson,...what do ya know?
That is the most irritating DJ chick that I have ever heard. Other than that it was a great performance.
Kenny needs to stick to playing. Sorry but I hate his background vocals.
Dick head
Right on, brathaman - his back up vocals are fine - then when one, such as KWS, can PLAY that Srat that way - one should refrain from ANY judgment.
that's probably why he hired a lead singer.
Mark Manning grrrr
wow, kennys little squeaky voice sounds so out of place should just play the guitar
