    Great boots! I just got a pair of Vertigo 2's this week, and have to tell you they are Super comfy boots. Comfy as heck. They fit perfectly with regard to my sneaker and non moto-boot size. I'm an 8.5 in all the boots/sneakers I wear. And the vertigo 2's were a perfect fit at the same size 8.5. I' bought these for street use, and they are definitely more boot than I expected for the price, with regard to quality, comfort and safety features.
    The first 10 minutes wearing them around the house they were stiff, but after walking around the house for a bit, 10 mins or so, and bending at the ankle a few times, they loosened up perfectly. To a feel like they weren't even on, snug enough but not tight. That's perfect imho. The calf adjustment is awesome. Riding with them on: Not hot, super confidence inspiring. Comfy as heck too. I love these boots, got a great deal at STG too. Cant beat that. Thanks guys!

      Will they be ok to ride in 80°f weather at speeds of 35-75mph? Is there perforated and waterproof models? Should I get the perforated over the regular ones for the conditions riding above?. What cleaning do they require? Thank you

    @Sportbike Track Gear Are the soles replaceable on these boots? If so what is the cost for Sidi to replace them?

      Please reach out to the US distributor for Sidi boots and ask them. Here is a link to their contact form: www.motonation.com/contact-us/

    Vertigo 2's or Alpine's SMX 6? both are sporty and ocasional trackday, so i'm torn between cooler looks and lower price/comfort...

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Comparing the 2 head to head the Astars will be a little wider than the Sidi's if that is important. The Sidi's offer a few features not found on the SMX 6 (vent, adjuster and replaceable parts). When it comes to comfort while walking around the SMX 6 edge out the Vertigo 2. Hope this helps you choose the right boot. - Van

      @@sportbiketrackgear thank you for the quick reply Van! Ill believe ill take the sidi's then! After all ill wear my boots for riding, not hiking, so ill deal with a little less comfort ;)

    Trying to decide on boots. It seems strange that Sidi's street boots don't have much ankle roll protection. Don't they think this is important even though you aren't going to track much? You have to go up to Mag 1 to get much medial ankle support. Seems odd to me.

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you want more lateral ankle protection you need to go with a pair of race boots. The majority of street boots do not offer any real serious lateral ankle protection. - Van

    What’s your opinion on the sidi vertigo vs the sidi Rex boots.

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Vertigo is more of a street boot that you could use for some track days. The Rex is a top level race boot that offers more protection and allows you to really personalize the fit. The Rex can be used on the track or the street if you want. - Van

    I keep hearing about this boot being way better for shorter riders struggling with reaching the ground..is this something you’d recommend in particular for that issue? As I feel my TCX RT-Race Pro are wayyy to slippery and thats not great considering I’m having trouble reaching the ground on the R1 so I pretty much 1 foot it.

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes the sole of a brand new boot will be slick. This will typically go away with use. Pretty much all of the sport boots have a thin sole, I do not think there is one that will be better than another considering the issue you have described. - Van

      @@sportbiketrackgear I get that most have a thin sole but my understanding is that sole on the vertigo is more gripy which is what I would Ideally want. Thanks for taking the time to reply, the level of response from you is just great.. I’m in the mids of pretty much changing all my gear coming back to motorcycles after a 2 year break so do expect more questions on different products to come up.. I do appreciate you taking the time. Thanks

    Greetings from Portugal! Very usefull and honest review. Thanks. I would like to have your opinion about wich one to choose from this vertigo 2 and alpinestars smx plus. I do once a year one big summer trip between 10.000 kms and 20.000 kms (this year it will be from Lisbon to the artic polar circle in Sweden's Abisko, then crossing to Norway and come back) mostly in B roads. rarely on motorways. It will be 4 weeks ridding. And in the rest off the year everyday ridding in Lisbon city. The boots will be only for ridding, i use an old "all stars" snikers for sightseeing. My sport-tourer is the YZF600R Thundercat. Thanks.

    • @sportbiketrackgear

      The biggest difference I notice between them is the Alpinestars offer a little more padding all around that makes the boot a little more comfortable overall. The Sidi offer a little more feel being a little less bulky. If you are all about feel the Sidi are nice, want a little more comfort go for the Alpinestars. - Brian Van

    My feet size is 28.5cm(Uk10) and according to sidi's size chart i m planning to go with size 45 which 28.5cm(Uk10.5). is it good decision?

      Yes that sounds like the way to go for you based on those measurements. - Van

    Hi. Nice review as usual. I am a size 47 in Nike running shoes and i purchased a pair of sidi cobra in 47.The problems is that i have relativly narrow and long feet and in the cobras when walking the foot was touching the tip of the boots. The up-down movement of the toes was also very hard because of the shallow toe box. There was pain so i sold the boots. Now i would like to purchase the vertigo 2.What size should i order? The comfort is the same as the cobra? Thanks in advance.

      They are all made using the same lasts so they will fit the same. If your feet are a little wider I would take a look at the Alpinestars line. They offer a little more width than Sidi does. - Van

      @@sportbiketrackgear Very informative comment. I was struggling between these two brands as I have nowhere to try them in my size. Thx a lot. You made me decide for SIDI.
      Sizewise I have a EU 46.5 - 30.5cm which usually would be a 47, but I saw that SIDI recommends 48 for 30.5cm . I do have a very narrow food - 11cm.
      Would you also suggest the 48, or recommend going for the 47?

  • @autofctrl
    @autofctrl ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I use UK12 in Converse which is 46.5
    My foot measures 30.4cm (11.97) length and 11cm (4.33in) in width. so somewhat narrow and flat ^^
    What size would you suggest? 46 or 47?
    Wearing 46 in my daily leather boots.
    Many many thx in advance!! 8)

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you do not have wide feet I would start with the 46 and see how they fit. Having the boots too loose is never any good. - Van

      @@sportbiketrackgear Wow... Sidi recommends 48. I might have to get a flight somewhere I can try them on. No dealer nearby wants to get them for me..

    So they made a upgraded Roar? Then called it a Vertigo 2?

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not really, the Roarr and the Vertigo were in the catalog at the same time. The Roarr is now discontinued here in the US (we are closing out the remaining stock here at STG) and this replaces the Vertigo. End of the day the boots are pretty similar for sure, no need for both to be in the same catalog. - Van
