Eh I like to test around, I pretty much buy different ones everytime just to see how they compare, and have the bike feel fresh and different for a bit

If you have a MTBer on the naughty list, print out tickets for a secret group ride with their fave TH-camr. …But it’s really a trail build day with the local MTB group.
The strider thing is awesome. Little kids develop a sense of balance way earlier than with training wheels. My little brother had one and he was able to ride an actual bike by the time he was two
Had an idea for berm peak cabin. Do a flip bike series till you have enough money to put 2 medium size bikes in the cabin for riders to ride. Just an idea i had love the videos keep up the great work.
The Y Bike is great for little ones, they can use it to learn to walk, or turn it around to ride similar to a strider. It has a more sprawled out stance, stable, soft caster wheels go any direction don’t bind
hi seth i have been watching you videos since it was called seth's bike hacks and you got me into montain biking and now i am a solid 3 years into mountain biking and can do some i can do some tricks too.
I have a MacRide, and it is LITERALLY my favorite thing I have ever bought in my life! My son and I have gone on SO many adventures together because of it. And that is my favorite thing to do!!! I got the blue one and put blue grips in the center of my bars, so all of his contact points are the same color.
Man....I wonder how my wife knew about this video.... Christmas came early for me... got a Berm Peak jersey, socks...and the hero 11... great video bro!
Thank for you saying MacRide instead of the ripoff Kids Ride Shotgun. We have had some of our best family memories with our MacRides and our two boys. Highly recommend to anyone with toddlers!
I used to work at a motorcycle dealership and we sold Strider bikes, they also have ski attachments for a winter sled conversion and they have multiple sizes depending how big your kid is.
Had to pause the video where was that bar seat when we were kids I remember my dad picking me up from school on his road bike, I can still feel the pain from sitting there with my legs over the handle bars. But it was fun to be included
Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas!!! Any kind of gift giving is good gift giving. The whole idea of giving gifts comes from St Nicholas!! Giving of oneself without expectation of return is the best way to give!!
Strider is awesome. When my son out grew his, he already had a bigger bike with training wheels. I got him a second bike (neighborhood give away…) and took the pedals off. He could practice balancing and pedaling separately. The day we took the training wheels off he was off and running.
Ah! Freakin brilliant. The link to this is going to a few people I know for sure!! Cannot believe how big your little one is getting!! My little one is loving her bike but we had to go with what we had which was the training wheel option... hoping to change that soon! 🤞 Thanx again for a fantastic video!
I would mention in the description maybe that the shock pump doesn’t work on cheaper coil spring forks, as many people don’t have an air fork or a shock.
Stationery bikes need washing too!!!! I just did a full tear down on a customer's road bike that spent 12 months as his Zwift bike. Literally everything was corroded by sweat. Chainrings were flaking apart.
As far as shock pumps go, I highly recommend the Topeak ones, they have a dual locking mechanism that makes it so you barely lose any air when attaching/removing the pump
If you want to ride your bike with your kids, I recommend the kids ride shotgun pro seat für emtb or the normal one for a bio bike. My son loves this seats.
My little girl is turning 5 in January and we still use the Mac-Ride, most recently she rode along to do some trail work with me. Definitely pushing it with her size though, my knees hurt from having to pedal out to the sides haha
I’m on season 2 with kid #2 on our Mac ride. Lots of imitations out there now but still the best IMO. This year we discovered that pogies intended for kayak paddles make great hand warmers for cold days.
@@zadams5596 woom makes a good kids glove for cold weather, I think they're neoprene. And agree, the fact that the other competitor made they're second generation almost identical to the Mac-Ride says a lot. That company also copied the Tow-Whee, after two copies I wouldn't buy a thing from them.
For a serious mountain biker with a toddler ready for a balance bike, I'd recommend going just a little step up from Strider ($140-190 for the Sport or Pro, the cheaper Classic has a hard plastic seat rather than a cushioned saddle) and upgrading to either a Prevelo Alpha Zero ($230, on sale for $210 atm) or a woom 1 ($200). For that $50 or so more, you get real rubber tires with better grip, more stable slacker geometry, a real headset rather than a quick-release compressed bushing, and a handbrake that even if younger toddlers don't use yet, it will help older ones stop more safely and aid the transition to pedaling by being one less new thing they have to figure out. My own kid had a Strider Sport that I ended up putting aftermarket wheels on and I really wish I would have spent the extra money up front: I'd say the majority of her crashes were from speed wobbles because of the too steep head tube angle. As for the MacRide, another alternative is Kids Ride Shotgun. Same concept, just different implementation. They also make fun little extras like a MTB themed alphabet book and sticker/coloring/activity packs, plus a tow rope.
Yo Seth, Love the mtb videos and I live in Charlotte NC. My grandparents live in Asheville so on day im gonna come ride berm park. My friends say its great so I cant wait to come shred it!
Great video Seth! We loved the Mac ride for our Little’s. Definitely helped them get the joy of biking before they were faced with the difficulties (climbing, falling etc)
Another “difficulty” is seeing dad remove the seat to go on a grownup ride……. Only made that mistake once and now it stays on the bike at all times and is discreetly removed when out of sight!
Hooo my god man ! your daughter !!! hihi so lovely... miss those time with my daughter that is now 17 and racing so I can not even follow her anymore ! 🙂
If you need a pump for tires or suspension xiaomi 1s electric pump is the way to go. Digital settings. Pretty small. Can even inflate up to 2 car tires and for a bike the battery lasts forever.
Marry Christmas Also I have a great idea What if you build a snow bike (with snow tires and other things that work great with the snow) And a good name for it would be the blizzard
3:05 hey I have that same mini pump, and it barely cost 6$! Not really the best pump since it's goddamn tiring to use but just look how small it is! It can only pump up 60-70 psi which is more than enough for MTB and manageable for RB(it can reach 80-90 but it's waayyy harder to pump to the point that your hands would be numb) . A really great gift for cyclists. . (And also, Seth's expression while pumping is not an exaggeration, that's how you'd look using this pump. I actually have fiercer look on my fave when using it)
Personally? I'd rather just have food as a gift. I either have everything else affordable that I need, or its expensive and I'd rather choose it myself. A big box of snack-type food? Heck yeah! Variety !
Another great gift Seth didn’t mention if your family has a tradition of giving charitable donations or experiences instead of traditional gifts is a membership/donation to your local trail chapter, a skills clinic or event entry fee
Future mountain biker Rebecca might need a junior sized pump track in the backyard soon. So adorable!
I'm looking forward to the top of the line kids bike builds
Yea i cant wait to see the bike builds for her
Yep. Little kids love to ride their run bike on pump tracks! Agree also 100%, a run bike is the way to start, never use training wheels.
Bro was on it lol
You predicted the future 😮
Man I would freak out if someone bought me the exact tires I need. This is great advice.
Yeah especially since they are $85 each

But if you have cheap coil spring forks you're probably not an avid mountain biker
I adore 3:42 moment when the cap of fork fell off and you didn’t repeat the scene:)
Alexander over at The Singletrack Sampler has some new jerseys on Cognative - who WOULDN'T love one of those as a gift?

Have you considered painting level lines on some of the features on berm peak? That way people would have a better idea of just how steep they are.
As far as shock pumps go, I highly recommend the Topeak ones, they have a dual locking mechanism that makes it so you barely lose any air when attaching/removing the pump
On that rocker you can use it to teach your kid to manual
You mean they are really good at loosing all the air you have just added
Yes to more socks and multitools. Don't need to know them well. It will always work

This is so much better than most of these, but not suggesting the EDC system of pump and tool is an oversight IMO
Thanks for the shoutout, Seth! We're getting these orders out ASAP for the holidays! Happy holidays and ride in comfort! :)
A must have for the mini pumps is a hose. So easy to destroy the presta valve.
