2002 marked the final year of Floodwall Mural Project creation that lasted for ten years. The entire project runs onwards the historic district length and includes about fifty different scenes. The beautiful floodwall murals share Portsmouth's history through the present day all the way from the mound-building Native Americans and use the 2000 ft. long, 20 ft. high floodwall as the canvas.... www.portsmouth...

I'm about 10 minutes from Portsmouth. It's such a potentially beautiful town that's unfortunately been run into the ground of poverty and drugs due to stunningly poor mismanagement.
Concerning the murals, it's my understanding that they a have a special coating over them that makes graffiti easy to remove while protecting the art.
To my knowledge, there's never been a brazen attempt to vandalize the murals, which is surprising in itself considering the lack of respect for such things in modern times.

Like 117 wow that is a crazy painting wow that’s a lot of walls I miss going on trips I do agree they do look like photographs. Can’t believe they’re paintings.
Whoa this mural display is huge. EAch of these murals take a lot of time and effort to create and there's so many of them! HOpefully they stand up to the test of time for future generations to enjoy. If these were in Vegas, they'd have graffitti covering them.

Hi, my friend Dan. Thank you for sharing. Very beautiful. Like. Our city has 2 swimming pools and hydromassage. There is also a diving pool. It is now closed. The war affected the water supply through the pipes to these pools. We have problems with water for the aquarium. But we have hope that the war will end soon. I wish you health and new successes.
The murals are truly unique. The house is huge with very nice rooms and a great swimming pool.Thank you for sharing beautiful places.
Wonderful ! I worked for many years as an LAS MRU back in the 1990's for St. George's Hospital in Tooting SW London. Massive respect to the nurses that I worked alongside !.. awesome respect to them all !! Lovely murals !! The river looks amazing !!
