I think what drags the album down a bit is the guitar tone. When you hear it played like this, you realise what a heavy riff it is but it just doesn’t come across on the record version

Completely agree. I've always been baffled by the production choices on this record, particularly the guitars. There's so much compression that it's difficult to discern what Tony's even playing in parts, which is a shame given that overall his work on NSD is stellar.
Awesome playing! This is such a great song on a criminally underrated album. Man, I would love the hear your take on Shock Wave just to see how you would play it vs the way I do.

Thank you! And it's funny, I was just listening to Shock Wave the other day and contemplating doing a cover of it! I've got a long list of tunes I want to try and now that one's on there too! Cheers!!
Nice video sir , can you tell your guitar effects (like distortion or overdrive ) used in this?

Thanks, and sure: I used a Boss Overdrive, a treble booster, and an old ADA flanger for the rhythm tone, with a little delay added for the leads. Pretty simple setup, really. Cheers!
Never say die and technical ecstasy big gear switch But my love for Tony Bill Terrance no matter what's going on with Ozzy Sharon f*** that I still love the music Iommi's clever hooks changes refrains songs still stand 🌟 Great playing\ tone !!👍

Thanks, and yeah I agree completely. Things were unraveling for the band but there's still lots to love about the last two of the "great eight". Cheers!
1978 Spectrum Coliseum Philadelphia U.S.A The Never Say die Tour Mee thinks 🤔🤔?. Wayyyy back then , Me an extremely handsome 15 year young man , beating the young chicks off with a stick in order for them to leave me alone for once 🙄 as I tried to make my way to my sit . Stoned as fuck .. AAAhhh What memories 😜 !! I have been chasing Iommis' tone on this fucking song for years 😒 .. luckily for me .. insanity has helped me cope with my failures 😜 . Awesome cover ! Thank you sir !!

I saw that tour as well here in Milwaukee! It was like the 3rd concert I'd seen...but what a show! Van Halen opening. Can it get any better than that?? Thanks for your awesome comment! Cheers! 🖤
Thanks! And yeah, IMO Never Say Die has some amazing songs that suffer from the production; especially the guitars. They're so compressed that it's difficult to hear what's going on at times.
Such an underrated song from an underrated album. Sounds like a car chase would happen during this song
Very nice mate, excellent cover ! Keep it up please !
Thanks very much, and yes indeed - I plan to! Cheers! 🖤
Impeccable version! Your Sabbath covers are the best and very instructional. I especially like that part starting at around 5:10

Totally agree with you guys. And this happened a little bit in Technical Ecstasy and Born Again...
Hear, hear! Iommi sounds like he was recorded from a mud pit.
