  • Using perspex to model the contact points for the steering and suspension of a Quest velomobile so that the steering can be viewed in its entirety.

    Very interesting design. Wonder why each wheel has 4 attachment point. Seems needlessly complex... unless it is for adjustability.

      The two additional points are for stabilization (for the MacPherson strut).

    what kind of steering is this? Is it just a revisted ackermann steering? I have a quest velomobile so this is super interesting!

      Hey Luigi - sorry for the delay. This is standard Quest steering without the bodywork getting in the way! I had all the steering apart so I reproduced the attachment points with some perspex just to see what was going on. It's not fractions of an inch precision, measuring the various holes and their relative locations is tricky (and I didn't need it to be really, I'm not building a copy body, just interested to see it all moving) but it's pretty close.
