- You had to wait a while for it, but here is finally the new video. I often make a simple arrival and departure compilation from the harbor mouth, because there is a lot to see here. This time I chose to visit different places in the harbor, giving you a better idea of the port and shipping that takes place there.

The first part of the video starts right off with an old-fashioned arrival and departure compilation. I was fortunate that a large container ship from Cosco arrived here immediately, which makes for great footage. Also check out 4.07, where you see a small sailboat struggling in the waves.

This day I started at my favorite spot on the Bear Canal. This water gives access to 1st and 2nd Maasvlakte. Here you will find several large container terminals. The largest container ships in the world are loaded and unloaded here. Currently, the 2nd Maasvlakte is undergoing expansion. The dredging ships therefore sail back and forth to spray up fresh sand. Given the distance to my camera, the images are not very sharp, but it gives a good impression. Other fun fact, is that in 2013 the container ship Maersk Mc-Kinney Møller, was the first container ship with a length of 399 meters. At the time, Maersk had a total of 20 identical ships built in this series. Later in the day I went to take a look at the Amazon Port, where part of the ECT terminal is located. Many things are automated here, as can be seen in the video.

The last part of this video was made on Sunday morning, September 10. In this footage you can see the Caland Canal, where several oil terminals are located. There are also several moorings for ocean-going vessels. The water running parallel to this is the Nieuwe Waterweg, and ships taking this route head mainly toward the ports in Maassluis, Vlaardingen, Schiedam and Rotterdam. This shipping route is also used for the smaller ocean-going vessels destined for Moerdijk. Unfortunately there was a strong wind, so not all footage is equally stable and I had to discard some scenes as well.
Enjoy the video and don't forget to subscribe to my channel.
A thumbs up is also much appreciated 😎.
With kind regards,

The famous Ever Given in the background there14:33.
Sharp 😀
Well spotted thare, was moored next to Ever Given in Sri Lanka a few years ago and could not beleive how enormous these vessels are!
I much prefer the calming sounds of the waves at the shore and the sea birds. Don't even want to watch with the music.
I understand you very well and ideally, I would love to use the sea and birds as music myself. Sound is very difficult. There are cars driving, motorbikes, people talking, the hum of the windmills. And all different shots in a row, which makes it very difficult. If you want beautiful sound, you have to make a separate sound recording for this at a quiet location, preferably early in the morning or at the weekend, when it is still nice and quiet in the harbour. Who knows what the future holds...
You could always lower the volume.
Get rid of the stupid music.
Great video ! Glad to see you back, greetings from BC Canada.
Nice to hear 😎
