      You are very welcome. Glad you enjoyed it. The Saturn is just so awesome. It's a passion of mine. Cant get enough of it. Just wish games were not so rare and expensive.

    Something to add: Get a Japanese Saturn! Playing @‘60hz is way better. Get an action replay! Not for the cheats but for the memory saving. Play everything in TATE if you can! Much better and how shmup should be played unless it’s horizontal. Get a virtua arcade stick version 2! Gets you closer to the arcade experience. Get a subwoofer system! I got on that hooks up to the headphone jack on my tv. The Saturn usually has arranged BGM and it’s absolutely awesome!!! Get a HDMI converter! Cleaner more polished presentation. Do all of this and bring a friend, to hold your jaw that’ll be dropping in complete astonishment of it all. The Saturn is bloody awesome!!!!!!!

      Agree with you on everything but the HDMI converter... an absolute blurry disaster unless you're using a high quality upscaler. You're much better off on a good SD CRT with high quality component cables👍
      The Saturn is definitely bloody awesome indeed!!

      Good advice on 60hz, really 50hz Saturns shouldn’t exist.
      However, tate CRT is the way to go for most shooters

    Sega Saturn was capable of the highest resolution of the 5th generation. It was overpowered.

    • @ThoughtformsOfTheSubconsciousM
      @ThoughtformsOfTheSubconsciousM 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think most everyone who is into retro games knows the truth now. One reason why the prices have shot through the roof, everyone realizes what a 2D beast the Saturn was and how many amazing games are on it, and theres just not enough to go around. Only back in the day were idiots spouting nonsense about the system in the west sadly.

    Great video bro! Shmups are my fave genre since playing Galaga in the arcades in 80s! The Saturn is such a 2D console beast with rich hand-drawn graphics which is AWESOME. Growing my shmup collection with Strikers 1945 II, Shienryu and Batsugun being my current faves! Subbed from 🇨🇦

    I'm a new subscriber and came across this video. Very cool! I do have all of these titles and it really makes me think on how things were in the 1990s. I got these games really cheap from Blockbuster Games as a kid because no one was interested in sprite based games at the time, so they were all marked down considerably, including Mega Man 8! Tekken and Tomb Raider were hot at the time so these games could be had for $30 US! Today it's the complete opposite and you can walk down an alley and trip over a copy of Tekken for $5. Thanks for making videos like this!

      Yeah I got into Saturn about 5 years ago. Always wanted one as a kid but never got one. To think of all I was missing out on back then, especially the amazing imports. Sony was definitely paying off some people, or they were completely biased against the Sega Saturn. I witnessed many a review that had outlandish claims, like the super shadows were "done wrong" for SF alpha on the Saturn. And there's no way in hell games like hyper duel, or galactic attack would ever run on the PS1. Not to mention both in the hunt, and darius garden were better on the Saturn as well. The ram expansion cartridge allowed near perfect arcade game ports the as well, like x men vs sf. I know, I imported them from Japan when they were released using a pro action replay. Not to mention that panzer dragoon 2 would never have run on the PS1, the Saturn was a superior system in every way. If Sega had fought back, and had done their marketing differently. Then Sega would have won the console war, they made several mistakes with the dreamcast to. It is my favorite system of all time, and games like Guardian Heroes even to this day will NEVER be outdone.

    • @clarku4
      @clarku4  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Completely agree. The Saturn never got over the bad press which is such a massive shame because it should of done so well. It achieved alot of amazing things and to this day it just has something unique about it. Just think what amazing things we would have now if The Saturn and Dreamcast had kept Sega in the hardware business.

    The Saturn...if you´re a fan of 2d fighters and shmups like me ,the saturn is a wet dream! Quick advice,do NOT buy a pal console and use the action replay cart!!! You´ll still play games at 50hz which sucks. Just buy a japanese console,they´re pretty cheap and then yes,use the action replay for the extra ram!

    • @clarku4
      @clarku4  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I will be getting a Japanese Saturn at some point because some imports don't work well on the action replay. You need to change the voltage though don't you as it's different in Japan?
