  • Situated within the Tarmar Valley, on the edge of the Dartmoor, one of the greatest, unspoilt natural areas left in England, Hotel Endsleigh was originally designed for the 6th Duke of Bedford in 1811, who chose this spot of enchanting beauty for his fishing and hunting lodge. Today, Hotel Endsleigh is one of the most important Regency country houses remaining and it is set in 108 acres of fairytale woodland and surrounded by beautiful gardens and grottos.

Mrs Polizzia..as a old employee member of your heroic Dad's THF,later Forte Hotels Uk..I spent 20 yrs during the 80's /90's in operational management & later HR Director at the Hyde Park Hotel with our infamous Exec GM Paolo Biscioni..as I just happen to play pianio, every year your Aunt Mrs Sana came for birthday lunch..& with great embarrassment & nerves..I was asked during desert to play for your great lovely Aunt..a simple Happy Birthday..in trepatation the last occasion came I think in 1994..when she futher requested an Italian song..I played to her Santa Lucia..& after was invited to her table, the Lady could not have been more kindly gracious & homely..praicing my piano efforts & insising amidst my shyness to hare a slice of her beautyful birthday cake! Memories never forgotton.I was also at the Hyde Park Hotel trilled on a few occasions to greet your late wondeeful Dad..Lord Forte of Ripley..what manners, integrity, caharisma & quitely charm he excuded..making a young man as me comfortable in my nervousness.
So many of US old THF/Forte long serving employees quite honestly wept post Granada aggrssive takeover..it was never the same as we at the Hyde Park were the first Exclusive by Forte Hotel sold to Mandarin Oriental can only advise how sorry & overcome we all were some with 30/40 years of service..in a
Yes a huge international company but one that always seemed to exhault despite its massive size..homelyness,belonginiess,guest/ business focus & brilliant training & development investment/opportunities to all your teams..top to bottom..And candidly made us professionaly proud to be a small part even if a huge Local & International multi faceted company where despite layers of this vast organisation always had a sence of personal belongingness from Inn's Division to the great Exclusive Division...where hotel individuality & place made each distinctive & not a cold homogionised same hotel experience.
Your late RIP Dad Lord Forte...was the greatest inspirational foreward minded hoteliere & entrepreneur of the 20th centuary & all via a Milk Bar in Leicester Square..utterly remarkable his success with your always most gracious Mum Lady Forte at his side...finally & I so hope you appreciate..everybody of note & insight always remarked back then.." You" encompassed his essence, brains, integrity & emmence ability, despite your silent role within the corporate design department which created great local unique beauty in tune indivistiualy at each unique hotel from the Eden in Rome,Balmoral in Edinborough,Waldorf London,Grovenor House London,Browns London Ritz Madrid,Plazee Athenie/ George V Paris,King Edward Toronto Shelbourne Dublin Forte Village Sicilly ,Shakesphere Stratford upon Avon to my 1st proud hotel at 22 yrs old..Brandon Hotel Warickshire,a small Inn where Mrs Sana designed our Wedding suite way back in 1984!!..My Lord..we opeated the best hotels in the world along with all the Restaurants/ Airport Divisions...those were the Days!!but Rocco & You have so brilliantly compiled old & library of new & old historic UK & European beautyful hotels,a huge credit to both your determination & family honour.
I am so personaly delighted that over the years You personaly have created your own 3 beautyful hotels..all down to you & your electic artistic eye, hoteliere insight & business acumen, where you have the true freedom, away from cold corporitism now to continuely paint fully & create & recreate your own individual pallet,of artistic beauty ,warmpth, individuality, artistic creativity with distinction in your three unique beautyful bespoke hotels.
You will am sure be aware.Coco Channel once remarked after success " Fashion is fleeting but Style endures"..a compliment I simply offer to you in admiration If I may presume to call you Olga, with huge respect.Your impact on our great industry has been a little hidden, but to the wide-eyed over the many years emmence..Perhaps as I hope for you.." Home is the Sailor, home from the Sea,and the hunter home from the hill'

I wonder whether this wonderfully atmospheric music by Frederick Delius is piped throughout the property - if not, it should be.
