The name dolofin is derived from 2 words 1 dolor which is Latin for pain and fin which is french for end but also appears in different forms across different languages finito in Spanish of finish in english this word eventually traces its roots to latin and probably exists in some other form before latbut im no expert in proto indo European languages so you have to settel with latim but if you put dolor amd fin togather you dolofin to finish or end pain that is why methadone was originaly called dolofin

The only time I have managed to "feel the methadone" is when I have got down to a very low dose and then flooded my system - so if I have been at under 20mg/day and then take ~100 mg suddenly. Otherwise, it doesn't seem to do anything other than keep the sick away. Must be different for everyone.

I personally get nothing but pain relief and sedation when i take more than i'm prescribed. some report a strong euphoria, but i've "double dosed" and still only felt drowsy. Methadone keeps you right on that line between high and totally sober when you find your right dose. Sure i feel good, but who shouldn't? Dr. Dole showed many years ago that this is often a metabolic issue with our natural endogenous opioids being ran so this medicine just keeps us well and in our correct state of mind.
