Love ” kitchen mouse meals” Dear young one, platters where sometimes the only way i could get you to eat. Plus studying until 2am a lot of night, it wS the perfect meal for you ❣️
lovely video chey! I've been trying to think of what the opposite of kitchen mouse meals is because I think that's my dinner time routine. I wanna say "big pig hog trough". I'll leave the specifics up to your imagination.
@@KickThePj I do both! Sometimes I want a kitchen mouse meal and sometimes I’m making myself an extravagant and heavy meal. I do like the addition of “trough” in the working title though 😂
I don’t think your vlogs are boring at all! I love the relaxing hobbies you do and both your job and perspective as a creative is so unique that it means your day to day is very interesting! Maybe you’ve normalised it a bit to yourself because you’ve been doing it for a while, and are surrounded by fellow artists? but your vlogs are so special imo!! ❤
Keep doing vlogs please!!! I missed them so much. The slice of life ones are the best ❤ Love watching you make tea, draw, clean, cook, organize and listen to you talk.
Your videos aren’t boring-they’re a calm oasis in a world that’s always shouting for attention. It’s a soothing reminder that life doesn’t have to be a non-stop rollercoaster to be meaningful. As for life itself? "Boring" can be a superpower! While the world races ahead in chaos, you're the sage sipping tea, savoring snacks, and wrapping yourself in the simple joys. Your "boring" isn’t mundane; it’s a soft rebellion against the noise. It's like a fluffy blanket fort for the soul-comforting, real, and deeply appreciated. So, keep sharing that peace, one “boring” video at a time, because trust me, you’re someone’s favorite sanctuary.
Thank you for reminding me that eating anything is better than not eating! I have trouble with meals too, feeling pressured to eat "normally" and make "complex meals" but y'know what? I like rice with some seasoning! I will happily eat that for lunch every day!! It makes me nourished and happy!
yeah!! a dietician here on TH-cam, @NutritionByKylie, always says, "think of what you can add, not subtract, from your meals" which has helped me a lot in filling out my simple kitchen mouse meals too :D
Honestly, you’re a breath of fresh air. I left your video feeling inspired, relaxed, and understood in a way that I haven’t felt from a vlog in a while. I look forward to the next one!
I honestly love the "mundanity" of your vlogs, it makes it so soothing & comforting to watch & keep up with. It feels like just catching up with a friend or doing parallel play, which is such a nice way to slow down when so much online content is really busy/loud/bright/vying for attention/etc. Your vlogs feel very understimulating in the absolute best of ways! Also very excited to see how the paper mache trays turn out for you!
Oh, you could build a whole kitchen mouse aesthetic! I don't find your vlogs boring at all. It's like a catching up with a dear friend. And the Blundstones...same. I've been living in the PNW for 25+ years, dedicated to my Doc Martins and my Birkes. Now that i'm "if it's colder than 45 degrees outside my feet cramp" years old, and i found myself in Idaho unprepared for a snowstorm that was never in the forecast, i needed boots. I tried my darnest to get those Pikolinos to fit, but the only thing that would was a Blund. I *loathe* dressing like the cool kids. LoL
This kind of video is my favourite of all time to watch!! So comfy cozy, such amazing vibes, so inspiring to start making art. Thank you Cheyenne 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
I just wanna say I LOVE your "boring" vlogs. I find them so relaxing to watch and I relate a ton to the adhd stuff you talk about, so it feels like having a buddy to just hang out with and chill. So many videos make me feel like I need to be better and perfect, but yours make me feel like everything is okay
I used to have timberland chelsea boots which I wore till the soles separated, but I had to buy new ones and ended up getting the best SOREL boots, which I have to say ended up being even nicer than my timbs. But the blundstones look super nice too
Your kitchen scenes are always the coziest. The filter on your lens is gorgeous. Also love eating random little things together as a neurodivergent person. Lovely video as always Cheyenne. Oo also I have that gouache set too and it has the best colors.
I am very much a platter eater (just had one when I started your video). I capping them my emperor plate because I lounge and pick around the plate. I've found it's been good for actually eating despite my meds blitzing my appetite and it's helping me work through issues around expectations of how I'm supposed to eat. I still absolutely being perceived while eating but the lounging is changing things slowly. Thank you for sharing, it's nice not to feel so alone
Your videoes are never EVER boring. Just following you around like this is incredibly cozy and fuzzy to watch 🥰 I too suffer from that constant sense of urgency and unrest that you described, and have made "Take Time" my motto for 2025. Watching your vids puts me in that headspace I always want to be in - where joy and calm can be found in normal, "mundane" living. Your vids are magical, never think otherwise ❣✨
Cheyenne, I'm usually just a lurker (have been for years) but the way you described kitchen mouse meals is perfect. I recently discovered my "pickiness" has a name and is very common in ADHD folks which I got diagnosed with a year ago. But it's called Arfid (avoidant restrive food intake disorder) I don't see it much as a disorder for myself but it's nice to know there are people out there that I share a common thing with. Although I'm very proud of myself in 2024 I tried about 10 new foods, I usually make a goal to try only 3 but last year what can I say I was so adventurous. But it means so much to me for you to say "duck them" to the people who would always make fun of my pickiness. I used to be so ashamed of it but now I'm just like so what. I like what I like and I'm going to enjoy it.
hey, I’ve recently realized I have ARFID too!! just started therapy for it actually :’) and learning that was a huge reason for me getting back into kitchen mouse meals as it makes it way more likely i’ll hit my nutrition goals~~
Cheyenne your vlogs are NEVER boring!! One of my resolutions for this year is actually to watch all of your videos because you inspire me sooo much - both with art stuff and with just slowing down and appreciating the small things in life 💛
what you said about a sense of urgency was so helpful ive always said “time” is a big anxiety trigger for me but that wasn’t quite encapsulating what i needed it to but i’ve now realised i was looking for the term “sense of urgency” because i also create it out of things that shouldnt have a time limit like hobbies and days off here’s to less of that and more slowing down in 2025!!
you saying that you’ve lived in seattle nearly 8 years and i remember watching your bullet journal videos where you were planning to move to seattle….. suffice to say your vlogs are far from boring and remain comforting to me whose life looks much different than it did 8 years ago :’-)
This was such a nice and cozy vlog! I’ve heard of kitchen mouse and also prefer it as a term 😂 love the new hair also! Wanted to comment though mostly to say none of your vlogs are boring and to be frank I genuinely LOVE when it’s just someone going about their work or life and doing the most basic and watching along. It’s comforting and relatable and inspiring. Happy new year!
The giddy dance I did when I sat down to draw and saw a new vlog! 🤩I didn't discover platters or even BAGELS until my 20s (I'm 25) and definitely my favorite way to eat and I could have bagels every day. I just want to say I love your vlogs, I love how you talk about your art and your process. I also am an artist of many crafts so you inspire me. 😊
chey, your videos are never boring! you’re the only channel i will make sure to sit and watch all the way through, without distractions, whereas other channels i’ll put on while pottering around and working on stuff. your authenticity is wonderful ❤
I love mundane vlogs! To me your life seems to be as exciting as anything. Seeing you move so easily between different mediums and crafts always cheers me up
that's like, my goal in life. have the most mundane way of living possible. I don't want anything extraordinary at all. thank you for sharing your routine 💕
I love all your vlogs! This was fun ☺️ and I am getting those Holbein paints!!! What a set 😍 Plus a bonus when my toddler loves your vlogs too for the cat content 😂 he loves it! 💖💖💖
Hi bby!! Lovely video!! Don’t worry about your videos being “boring”. Your videos act as the perfect body doubling while I clean and make art and do all my little tasks. It’s love your videos just as they are, they keep me calm and just entertained enough to stay focused on my tasks and not get distracted
I'm a complete noob artist and musician and found your channel. I've always been fascinated with colors/art but only exploring it now. Between the colors you were wearing and your home decor, it looks like a favorite childhood memory for me. Cozy and snug. Also, as others mention, there is nothing boring here. While I work away at my day job , your voice and days adventure will be playing from start to finish on the desk !!
i like how relaxed your vlogs are, they're not boring! There's a cozy consistency to them that's kept me here watching for a few years now. Also kitchen mouse meals work the other way too! Very briefly it was just me an my mum when I was little, and now when i visit and it's just us we eat meals like this but I think they're a part of why I like trying new things so much because you get to have a little bit of everything. There's probably also probably some kind of neurodivergence at play in there as someone with ADD who really struggles to make a decision 😬
kitchen mouse meals!!!! i love that. I also dislike the term "girl dinner". sometimes with depression, snack plates are the only things that im able to prepare, so I have a lot of fondness for them, theyve fed me through hard times haha
your videos are interesting!! i like how this one is chill and relaxing! also, the fact that you still mask is so cool!!! 💚💚💚 yay for community care~! ❤
Blunnies are tasmanian !! they are a staple work boot for us - also platters were a must for my mum growing up as well especially cause it was fairly cheap
we've always call that meal a "purple tray" since we had purple plastic cafeteria-style trays we used for snacks in each compartment when we were little. We still have/use 2 and still call it purple tray meal (even if it is not on the purple tray)
watching this while finally finishing my essay for my grad school app. also, i was mistaken the other day on stream ! i have been a patreon since may of 2018 so more like 6 years ! so glad to be a part of such a warm community ❤❤❤ wishing you the best !
kitchen mouse meals are literally my fav way to eat grub'n's as weeeell! :'o) !! tanks for the company, as always, sweet chey! also! love the new lens & colour grading is always a *chefs kiss* -- I love the comfy, exist alongside vibe to yer video's. so chill! thanks for being and for sharing!!!!! xo ~SY
Every time you talk about almost anything, I relate, and it's been that way for 8 years lol! I also have issues with feeling a constant sense of urgency. I personally love slow vlogs, how people fill out the 'boring', slow moments of their lives interests me. I actually prefer them to vlogs where people are going everywhere and doing everything.
My husband and I have picked up the term "slop bowl" from somewhere on the internet. We both like totally different things so throwing whatever veggies/leftovers/condiments happen to be in the fridge over some rice in a bowl is far less overwhelming.
Hey, Chey!✨ can relate on so many things in the video✨ also favor kitchen mouse meals, am longing for carhart and am neurodivergent myself❤ always a nice time when you post(: thanks for sharing
This might sound like an insult but I promise it’s not. The “boring”ness of your videos is exactly why I seek them out. I often find other TH-cam videos so loud and fast paced, I love being able to put on your videos and just chill out, whether it be while I’m crafting, or studying, or just watching them on my couch. Short form media and other vlogs are often so attention grabbing that I’m kind of burnt out from consuming it. I know I can always count on your boring videos to calm me down (definitely not a word I would use to describe your vlogs btw)
Mind you I’ve been watching you since before you moved to Seattle so probably close to 10 years and I keep coming back to watch every video and frequently rewatching old videos too ❤
I don't do it much now that I live with my boyfriend and we make dinner together (or, at least, we make food for both of us), but when I lived by myself it was so freeing to have kitchen mouse meals, especially at night because by the time dinnertime comes the decision fatigue is too much for me to make anything. My dream platter would include a raw veggie (carrots or fennel), smashed dressed avocado, plain prosciutto with crackers (ham and cheese toastie if I can muster some more energy)! And tangerines!
My sister is a kitchen mouse! I sent this to her so she can relate haha. I would love to see more paper-mache stuff in the future, a new art form unlocked! Very exciting.
Yeah its so nice to watch someone just living day to day, without all the travelling/consuming/exciting experiences that people put out there non-stop. As someone with a "carhartt job", you should just get the carhartt
I love brooklinen. I'm picky and sensitive with fabric on bedsheets and brooklinen is one of the few that I don't have to pull out my fabric shaver for every night😅
I have kitchen mouse meals when I can't be bothered cooking & standing by the stove for half the dang day 😅 love your vlogs btw boring or not 😊 so thanks ❤
Okay, those little papier-mache trays for your monitor stand are a little too on the nose LOL - I was just moaning about that this week so I guess I know what I'm getting started on over the weekend! Also, I love the format of these videos. Quiet, chill, fun. Perfect to relax with.
Helloo friend! YT just showed me your channel and i am flabbergasted with how much you and i are similar! This is so conforting to me in many ways, i just started my small business as an artist and feel so insecure about everything. But seeing you just filled my artsy and clumsy heart with hope and excitment! Keep sharing your thoughts an days with people! You are such a beautiful soul, i just hited the follow button hahah sending much love from Manaus/AM, Brasil❤
My son is the same way with his eating. He likes his food to be separate (so for a sandwich he wants the slices of bread, cheese, and meat to be separate and not put together like a sandwich) and he doesn't like his food to touch. At first I was like omg you're so picky but then I remembered we all have different eating styles. Like my husband eats all of one thing before moving on to something else on his plate. So now we ask our son how would he like his food to be prepared (within limits). If I can make him more comfortable then why not. What's important is that he is eating and has a positive relationship with food. Anyways I'm new to your channel and I will be subscribing!
As a new subscriber, i was waiting on the edge of my seat to catch a glimpse of what kind of animal you were cooing at throughout the video. I was very pleased to see it was a cat
Love ” kitchen mouse meals”

“big pig hog trough” is pretty damn good…I see a giant pile of delicious greens and potatoes piled high in front of you, with your eyes gleaming heheh

Those paints are absolutely stunning!! I can't wait to see what you do with them.
i loved just watching this lovely good vibes vlog while crocheting :)
We call the platter a "goody plate" . 😅 Love them! Your sweaters are awesome ❤
Another cozy video, love your videos, keep it up
Blunnies are tasmanian !! they are a staple work boot for us - also platters were a must for my mum growing up as well especially cause it was fairly cheap
we've always call that meal a "purple tray" since we had purple plastic cafeteria-style trays we used for snacks in each compartment when we were little.
Thank you for a) showing yourself out and about wearing a mask, and b) sticking up for picky eaters who like plain foods. Love your videos.
Always interesting to see different places and environments especially when they are in another country :)
Kitchen mouse dinner is very cute.
In my house We call it peasant food when we eat anything cheese bread, fruit, veg, pickles
That black filter is soo cozy to look at😊
kitchen mouse meals are literally my fav way to eat grub'n's as weeeell! :'o) !! tanks for the company, as always, sweet chey! also! love the new lens & colour grading is always a *chefs kiss* -- I love the comfy, exist alongside vibe to yer video's. so chill! thanks for being and for sharing!!!!! xo ~SY

I can tell the difference!! I like it!!
Loving the new lens.

But seeing you just filled my artsy and clumsy heart with hope and excitment! Keep sharing your thoughts an days with people! You are such a beautiful soul, i just hited the follow button hahah sending much love from Manaus/AM, Brasil❤
Where is that black and white checkered sweater from, please? I've seen a few people wearing it and I'm obsessed.
it’s from kina and tam!! i’m not sure if they sell it anymore though 😢
@@cheyennebarton Thank you so much! Even if they don't have that one, I can check out any other funky stuff they have!!
Love Corrie Beth!, I’ve made her vase and candelabra template!,
13:01 idk why but I’ve always called them “snack plates”. Cheers!
As a new subscriber, i was waiting on the edge of my seat to catch a glimpse of what kind of animal you were cooing at throughout the video.
I was very pleased to see it was a cat
I've got two little old lady black cats :')
My son and I love "snack lunch/dinners". It's honestly the best way to enjoy food. Kitchen mouse 🐁 meals is a much cuter name ❤
