    It's always great therapy watching your videos, Adam. Time and again you draw the viewer into your photography so skilfully, that the vicarious experience almost seems real; you are every bit as accomplished with video photography as you are with still images. By the way, I remember a photography teacher once telling me to avoid having water flowing out of the bottom right of an image since it always takes the viewer's eye out and away from the main area of the photo. You have water flowing out to the left and this keeps the focus of the viewer inside the image; the circular eddy of bubbles, although on the right, also keeps the eye within the frame because it doesn't lead out of the image. I bet you do and know all this stuff intuitively! Beautiful work and thanks.

    I'm with you on the lovely greens during spring. Give me vibrant greens and wildflowers over the dead or dying trees of autumn any day. (I'm sure I'm the minority here. :D )
    Setting the scene with the slow drone footage is a great intro - very cinematic. Too many people go too fast and too high, it's just makes it unpleasnt to watch; cliché drone footage. And your images are wonderful. Love those swirly bubbles! I really like the 2nd one with the bright green ferns in the foreground. I see you did catch the swirling bubbles in that image too. Nice!
    I too have the Breakthrough, but the 3-stop CPL. I wish I had some falls to use it on. I'm heading north in a couple of weeks. Maybe I'll find something when I'm there. :) Thanks again for the great videos! I love seeing Vancouver Island through your eyes. Hope you're all well and happy. Looking forward to the next one, and the F4 project. Take care now!

    Just a thought. For those watching with less field experience, whenever adding a polarizing filter, show the effect via Live View (beyond just light blocking) so folks can see how much glare/reflections and or color enhancement you choose to add/remove.

    What an interesting spot Adam. I love waterfalls so a triple waterfall was always going to get me in. Superb use of the swirling water and the pattern the bubbles made on the right-hand side, created some great foreground interest and balanced the image nicely with the waterfall further in the background. The greens of the foliage were amazing, we don't get greens like that in Australia. Thanks for sharing mate, hope you are staying safe and well.

    • @QuietLightPhoto
      @QuietLightPhoto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, Andrew! I'm guessing the greens are more of a blue-green in your neck of the woods? How about Daintree National Park?

    • @Andrew_marr
      @Andrew_marr 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Adam Gibbs yeah, we have a few different green, blue greens and grey greens, dusty muted greens of the bush. The Daintree Forest tend to have dark greens. Which just don’t seem to get the intense saturated greens like you. I just the closest I’ve seen are the greens found in some of the Tasmanian rain forest down south.

    Hi Adam... Not sure why I've taken so long to comment on this video. The swirling effect on those bubbles below the waterfalls is magical & looks very much printable for the wall too...
    I've just finished up a landscape project & d/way entrance sign on my property & the various greens, yellows & reds are just so intense early in the spring. ( 2 ) days back now I put my 70-200 on the 5DM3 for the 1st time ever, only took me (2) years to get around to it! I took shots from about (4) different angles with various exposure levels & wow, those colors! I love spring...
    Curious how ya'll are liking the Sunwayfoto gearhead & last time I checked they were on back order, as in N/A through my normal sources... Getting that precise level using the ballhead without changing the composition can be extremely frustrating at times...
    Bill on the Hill,
    Vermont... :~)

  • @xcn

    Absolutely brilliant video Adam, and splendid images as well. I was actually thinking about compositions while watching this and i came to a conclusion with using the furns framing the leading river up to the waterfall in the background just a second before you actually did it in the video, but didnt think of the circular patterns on the bubbles and that created a very unique and lovely foreground. One more thing that might work, if you got closer to the river between the furns to really create that impact to the viewers when the river flows straight towards your eyes.
