For those on a tight budget, you can just use a 30x30cm or 40x40cm mirror, make a grid with black tape and reflect light through the mirror on the wall, and you will get that effect.
Cant believe people sleep on you bro. Youve literally helped step up not just my portrait game up but my whole photography in general. Great content, love to see it.
Manny, I've watch you for a long time and have admired your work. I see another new and inspired Manny now that you have been working in this new studio. I see the real creativity come out of you and into your work. All I can say is "do yo' thang" it's yours for the taking. And please continue to share your experiences with us that's less fortunate at this time. Big Thanks!
Very cool, I'll have to try this. 0:50 - "one on *each side* " makes more sense than when people say "one on *either* side" so thanks for that grammatical accuracy, I wish more people would do that.
Hi Can you please tell me which lens is better for nikon z6 between: Sigma 50mm 1.4 Art or Nikon z50mm 1.8? I mention that I have the FTZ adapter What would you choose? Thanks
What are you recommendations for best backdrop colors for beginning studio photography. Something for a home studio. Curious as to maybe 2-3 colors I should start with first for a backdrop
Dude your studio has about $200k of gear, lights, lenses, and cameras. Your storage must be pretty organized. Love the DIY gobo approach, will use this right away. 👍
I bought this projector because of your video and I’m excited to play with it, but I hate trying to use it with my strobe because I can’t see what the light is looking like until I take the shot and it’s a lot of guess work! Can you recommend an affordable led light (preferably godox brand) that works with the godox projector and is powerful enough to do portrait photography with?
Manny, I want to use the optical snoot with a 25mm E mount, is that possible? So the windows shadow will be bigger, Is any adapter needed? Ive read that for the godox optical snoot they only sell 3 types of lens
Great vid. On the shot at 1:03 when your adding the blue LEDS, what are the settings on the godox and camera, that your still maintaining the blue light? I was messing around the other day and when I was using a colored LED after I threw a flash in, I lost all color it was casting
Your flash area is spreading too far or overpowering your LEDs too much. The blue light in this video is shining on the backdrop, but the backdrop is only being lit by a small area of the flash. If you can't keep the flash from lighting the areas that you want the colored leds to fill in, then you can try adjusting your shutter speed slower so that you get more exposure from the LEDs. It's common to have no lights on except for the LEDs, slow down the shutter, so that when the picture is taken the flash goes off and the slower shutter allows the LEDs to add their color to the shot. And the pictures are usually increased a lot in saturation so that the LEDs are more prevalent.
What about using the other slides? Such as the window or circle? you'll still need to back the light up, right? And you use the unit on a strobe and not a still light? Why?
Hey manny I’m trying to figure out if it’s better to get the ad200 or 400 I’m looking for something that could give me possibles with taking skateboarding photos and the occasional photos I’ll do outdoors with lights on a budget around 700 what do you recommend?
Where do you find the wall-mounted backdrop roller and rolls? I saw the other video with that awesome red background too. Are they just generic Amazon products or you got a brand from BH that has good quality rollers and paper?
Oh my gosh! I’ve been thinking about this lightning technique for so long and finally got my answers thanks a lot! Also have a question. I’ve checked your presets out and I see they are applied to outdoors shots. Are you using any presets shooting in studio? Thanks a lot once again you are a huge help and biggest inspiration to me

Those color shadows are futuristic.

Hello! This works on AD600 godox? 🙌
Good job Manny, love your stuff and use it all the time. Probably going to pick up the gobo setup based on this video alone.
Great work Manny.. are you shooting with the nikon z7 or z7II
Been thinking how to create this shot . This just made it easier 😆🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I love a good slit customization video
Thanks for dropping this knowledge!
I wonder how you got the unit on the flash? Doesn't the big, protruding flash head block the SA-17 adapter from fitting into place?
I bought this projector because of your video and I’m excited to play with it, but I hate trying to use it with my strobe because I can’t see what the light is looking like until I take the shot and it’s a lot of guess work!

excellent work with light very creative.
Good stuff Manny!
Does anyone know if the Godox projection attachment can be mounted with a profoto strobe? Would I just need to buy a godox ring attachment?
Manny, I want to use the optical snoot with a 25mm E mount, is that possible? So the windows shadow will be bigger, Is any adapter needed? Ive read that for the godox optical snoot they only sell 3 types of lens
1:07. I’m looking like 😱😱😱, I can use my mag mod stuff and get this look. Why didn’t I think of that? Appreciate you 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽🤑🤑
Love your work 🙏
im thinking about buying the projection attachment but not sure if it works on the ad600
I think you could create a slit like that also with bare bulb and blocking with some v-flats … seems cheaper
Hey Manny, you need to do a comparison between the Z 50 1.2 and the RF version. I appreciate these tips!
Great vid. On the shot at 1:03 when your adding the blue LEDS, what are the settings on the godox and camera, that your still maintaining the blue light? I was messing around the other day and when I was using a colored LED after I threw a flash in, I lost all color it was casting

Does the connection also work with Godox AD200?

Does profoto have these sorts of attachments for these effects?
@mannyortiz what’s better the Godox sa-p gobo kit or Madmod kit for Gobo? Is the godox worth the extra $$?
Whoa whoa whoa. Wait a minute. Is that a Nikon in in your hands?
Sony: Manny, why you gotta do me like dat?
Nikon:😏
What about using the other slides? Such as the window or circle? you'll still need to back the light up, right? And you use the unit on a strobe and not a still light? Why?
