I just started modding Skyrim seriously three days ago. I thought it was as simple as using Vortex, installing the mods and playing the game. I'm familiar with load orders from Witcher 3 modding, but I was managing them from inside Skyrim, and still using the Bethesda Launcher to launch my game. And, of course, black faces, mods not working, things not looking right etc. So I read about LOOT. Downloaded and ran it. It fixed many of the issues but not all of them. It also gave me ITM notifications for something like 1000+ references. I was overwhelmed, and resolved to just playing the game with my mods as is. A friend from a different discord saw me griping about LOOT and not understanding anything, and apparently he's big time into modding Skyrim, and hopped on a Discord call, watched my stream and told me what I was doing wrong. He also told me all of my mods were shitty, which in retrospect, they were. At this point, Timestamp 11:51 explains almost my exact reaction when he started explaining the technical underbelly of modding skyrim. After watching several videos, and his guidance, I can spot load order conflicts in SSEEdit and read the right window and actually know what it means. I know what mods to look for that won't tank my current mod order, and if they aren't completely compatible with my load order, I know where to put it so it does the least amount of damage. I'm not quite at the stage of being able to drag/drop values to create my own patches and actually resolve the conflicts, but, I'm learning and I will get there. Skyrim is not a game. Modding Skyrim, THAT'S the game. Skyrim is just the platform that supports the mods.
Truer words have never been spoken before. Skyrim has to be the most diverse modded game. It's why I love it so much, and I'm sure many others can agree.

Hey, I'm REALLY looking for your updated combat vid. I was wondering about this a few days back when making a new modlist. By the way, watching your intro I thought: a great vid series would be if you rushed through your entire modlist (in load order) and explains a bit why each mod is there and a brief of what it does. The reasoning on this is: while most mods don't have a direct incompatibility with one another, modding bethesda games is more than just that. With time you'll experience more and more crashes and script lag, and you're left wondering why and what you did wrong, and eventually abandon the experience cause you're fed up. Modding skyrim is a lot of work, and as I saw in another video earlier: there are two types of ppl. Some who consider the tinkering a great experience and some who tinker with mods cause they're actually wanting to play the game. So they look for videos and forums for a more stable experience. You have 1000+ mods installed, and you're playing the game for a while. People will not be doing copycats for most part, cause modding is also preference, but it would be great to see what those who are playing the game for years are rolling with with more detail. Cheers! cant wait for your next vid, whatever it is.
