Harris opened with "Trump doesn't have a plan for the country", then said "Trump's Project 2025" which is a 900+ page plan for the country. Which is it, Kamala. Neither moderator called her out on that.

I agree I don't feel like Harris was given follow up questions compared to Trump and a few times Journalist replied to Trumps answers like they were the ones in the debate. Many say ABC is Democratic friendly and Harris friendly. I think it would be better whatever station is chosen to do debates there should be a MIX of Journalists from a few stations asking the questions. Watching debates a couple years ago in Greece debate was on a TV station there were I believe 4 or 5 Journalists who would take turns asking questions and it seem to work very well. At the end there was a mixture of Journalists and you could not say the station is a one sided as there were a few journalist asking question, just my opinion
I was surprised Trump didn't ask live with so many people watching for another debate with her put her on the spot, or maybe he does not want one who knows but 1 debate is not enough there were no knock out punches nothing I feel. I hope we will se at least 1 more

All i know is that when Trump was in office my husband and i had jobs , 2 cars and a house..Now as i txt..We have no jobs, we sold one car to pay mortgage and the other is broke down and by the grace of God we were able to get section 8 housing. I have never been so humilatied in my life. I am an educated woman, my husband was a Marine. We live in a tiny farming town in South Dakota and most stores have closed..its the saddest thing ive seen. Im from Washington DC. My mother worked on Capital Hill..i spit on the Biden administration. Please lord let Trump win and keep him safe. I want better for my children.

As an European and neutral, I hope Trump wins, but they both were pretty terrible at this debate. I know the moderators were really bad as well, but it was so frustrating watching them almost not answer a single question and constantly deflect, blame and name calling their opponents rather than talk any specifics, focus on policies and not only what they are going to do if elected but how will they do it.

I found this debate rather interesting. Kamala really show her true colors on how she can lie and never really answer the questions that they asked. She sideswiped it all, and if you’re intelligent enough to see what she was doing you’d understand that she was manipulating. Trump could have answered her back the way the same way that she was talking. He was more presidential when he didn’t name call her back or tell lies about her. She was condescending and brutal and told one lie after another. To me it doesn’t matter who is one to me what matter is that Trump knew that her true colors would come out? As a woman I have known women like her and she would do anything to get what she wants. She will say anything to get what she wants. She has done it her whole life and I think Trump knew that. Trump was a major disappointment here. He was tripped up by several questions that he should have good answers up and ready. For example, the question of fraud in 2020, he should have said "there was enough, in my view, evidence of issues in the election that all I wanted was an investigation to get to the bottom of it all". He needs to frame it was a positive, but he has let the press and Democrats frame the story of 2020. Either that, or he should have refused to discus it.
Also Algore and Hillary both called out for rigged elections just like Trump but the capitol incident was deep state weird. He should also say that the Obama's administration spied on him in 2016 looking for collusion with Russia to favour Hillary. Or that Facebook was used for the campaign of Hillary and the censorship of speech during covid to favour the Biden's administration. Or the fact that Trump was convicted for taking confidencial things just like Biden but the justice worked different for them. Also that they tried to take him out the ballot and later he was almost killed. The billions wasted in Ukraine and Israel, not only directly but indirectly with NATO. The fact that in 2016 he was called nazi, fascist, extreme nationalist and racist for talking about the migrational problem and now they are dealing with it even more. Not to mention the embarrassing current president that Harris endorsed which has dementia. Or the corruption inside the BLM with money of the state. The Venezuela's problem with Maduro. And most important one, economy, been bad for years now and they are wasting millions in useless shit.

I disagree that Trump didn’t do well. I think he defined her as a vapid puppet. She didn’t come out as strong at all because she hasn’t done any interviews Trump defined her. The sound bites from Trump are what landed and what will stick in the mind. In my opinion.

Instead he just repeated every line we’ve already heard in every rally. But where I disagree w/ them is that I think he may have intentionally held back. Time will tell.
I will voting for Trump. He did not have a good debate. He seemed unprepared. He fell for the baits. I realize he was always on the defensive because of the biased moderators, but he missed so many opportunities and kept repeating himself at the wrong times. An uninformed voter will not realize the lies told by Harris because only Trump was fact checked (sometimes erroneously). I hate to say it, but I think among uninformed voters, Harris won the debate.
Yeah, I think they misjudge the state of the race. The by far biggest reason undecided voters have been saying they are undecided is because they don't know what Harris wants to accomplish. Now after listening to her for 90 minutes and they still have no clue what her vision is, I think they must be starting to conclude that there is no vision there. It's MAGA or more open borders and inflation I guess?
So what this debate accomplished is cementing her as visionless. And Trump came off as forceful and she came off as a meek girl that needs to be defended. Which is what I think sways voters more than anything even if they don't know it.

The silver lining may turn out to be that Trump finally articulated the abortion issue correctly. SCOTUS properly kicked the issue back to the states, Trump takes the reasonable position that mirrors that of most American voters, and Kamala is the radical. Trump asked her to repudiate late-term and partial-birth abortion and she dodged instead.
He also dodged the question about whether he'd veto a national abortion ban. Hiding from that question probably was unnerving for many pro choice women.
Why didn’t the moderators correct Ms Harris as they did President Trump?
What planet are you on? Constant polling over the last few decades with a clear majority (recently 63 to 36%) generally in favor of abortion being legal in most/all cases. Abortion ballot initiatives/referendums have been pretty clear indicators as well with significant down ticket correlations for GOP/pro-life candidates suffering adjacent these measures. Kamala’s position on abortion is by no means radical. Trump never actually answered the veto abortion ban question AND instead ranted and raved about late term abortions, which account for less than 5% of all abortions nationwide. He is not well-informed on the issue and parrots the same zealous talking points from Twitter and elsewhere in the MAGAverse. How embarrassing to be so wrong and so confident, but then that’s his MO, yeah? 😅🎉

I'm definitely never voting for Harris and definitely voting for Trump but he's definitely lost a step.
Honest thoughts on debate tonight:
1. Harris came out very nervous and shaky but eventually got her stride.
2. Trump came out stoic and calm but eventually unraveled.
3. The moderators were absolutely disgraceful, fact-checking Trump on everything, including if he was truly being sarcastic or not.
4. Multiple layup questions offered to Harris like, "Do you think Trump is trying to intimidate you?"
5. Multiple gotcha questions offered to Trump like, "Why do you think it's appropriate to address someone's racial ethnicity?"
6. Trump repeatedly missed great opportunities to body Harris but spent much of the night on defense about things voters don't really care about.
7. Harris repeatedly spread explicit lies about Trump's positions, her positions, and things Trump has said, all without any fact-checking from the moderators, of course.
I believe Harris won this debate by a thin margin unless the overt bias from the moderators actually worked against her in the minds of independents. We'll have to see what the polls say over the next couple of weeks.

Somewhere in an hour or two campaign rally, he can say enough to overcome the disjointed nature of his comments. But when he has 2 mins for a debate response, he needs to stay on that topic and focus on revealing her shortcomings and explaining the strengths in his policies. When he jumps around during an answer, he sounds like a stuttering, rambling, Biden who can't organize his thoughts. He is like a preteen writing a run-on paper just throwing out whatever thoughts pop into his head. It isn't a very effective way to debate.

Trump got mopped last night. I know it's hard to handle.
So I watched the debate once live on television and then I watched it again (at 1.5x speed) on Steven Crowder's stream. At first watch on the live debate, I was thinking that Trump did not do very well. However, when I watched it the second time, I realized that not only was Trump debating Kamala but he was also debating the two moderators. When I originally thought that Trump was being "baited" to answer "off topic" questions / points Kamala brought up, I realized that if he didn't answer the "baited" off topic questions / points the average independent voter would have taken what Kamala said as FACT. We know for sure that the moderators were not going to call Kamala out so Trump had to do it real time under fire in enemy territory. While some of Trump's real time fact checks went a little long he generally brought the fact check back to the actual topic that Kamala was actually supposed to be talking about.
Now were there missed Trump knock out opportunities, yeah there were some but I think Trump got many of his points across. He made it clear several times that Kamala is tied to Biden and Biden's failing polices. He at several times points out "why don't you fix the border now...wake up your boss and have him sign a bill, millions of illegal immigrants have flooded our country making it unsafe and draining our resources, inflation is the highest it's been in over 20 years under your watch, "the Democrats are against Democracy using lawfare on their political opponent', "I am not for a federal abortion ban", " what is Kamala's (and the democrats) limit on abortion 7, 8, 9 months?", etc... With the repetition of this points throughout I think the average independent voter will see the clear distinction between Trump and Kamala and vote to Make America Great Again.

The moderators did not even attempt to cover them all but stopped him on ones that are just so blatantly ridiculous as to almost make the debate into a parody of reality. Every politician to some degree or another bends the truth at times, revises their opinions, etc. but there is a huge difference in that “poetic license” and just spouting pure rubbish nonsense. Also, Trump had 6-7 more minutes talking than Harris through the whole debate and had the last word on literally every topic they covered. The moderators were in no shape or form as biased against Trump as you and many others seem to believe, if at all. I appreciate that you seem to be engaging in a good faith conversation, often not the case in TH-cam comments.
