I found this great song from Lucy several months ago and is now sung by an unrelated Thomas girl for the upcoming musical Rosie. What “One Day” displays is Lucy’s real accent. If you ever hear her talk & be interviewed, her English (like) accent comes through in a word like “pass” or “world”. Lucy’s voice has matured over the years to be able to enunciate her words and sing them clearly in the American English way. Great song for you two to find, but hear her interviewed some time, & after one of her songs,Lucy sweetly says “Thank you” in her strong English accent. I just have to pick up on one point here I hear no hint of a Lancastrian accent here, she is singing in RP ( which is received pronunciation) which is British English as she does now .Don´t know where you get the idea that she sings in American English. I am English and I know English dialects .In fact if you listen to her sing over the rainbow at the end on the word Can´t it is perfect English nothing American about it. just a small point maybe our ears hear different things.

If it's true that Lucy did not want this song listed, I truly do not understand why. It is absolutely lovely and magical! Thank you for reacting to it! When "Rosie" finally does come to the stage in London next year, I hope that Chris Broom (the creator of Rosie and founder of Cavendish Records with which Lucy is signed) will have a professional film crew to film it and put it on DVD. I live in Georgia, USA, and could not possibly be able to attend the performance. But I LOVE every song Lucy has performed from it thus far!
I'm guessing, but maybe the song will be sung by a younger performer when Rosie finally hits the West End - by which time Lucy will be 20 years old! You will see that One Day is performed by a much younger Norah Thomas (possibly no relation) in the Rosie the Musical channel to support this contention. 😊

@@michaelhingley4770 , Chris Broom wrote and especially designed this musical a few years back specifically with the intent for Lucy’s performance of it, and has produced it in collaboration with her. Because of the Covid situation, it was unfortunately put on hold. I believe Mr. Broom will still make it work to have Lucy as its star and not take away this dream from her. They have a very close professional and friend relationship. I guess I can only wait to see while hoping and praying. I can’t imagine anyone else other than Lucy to play Rosie Boote.
