Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is an action-adventure game developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It is based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man, and features a narrative inspired by its long-running comic book mythology which is also derived from various adaptations in other media. It is the third entry in the Marvel's Spider-Man series, acting as a sequel to Marvel's Spider-Man (2018) and a follow-up to Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020). In this installment, Peter Parker and Miles Morales struggle to navigate the next steps in their personal lives while combating several new threats, including a private militia led by Kraven the Hunter, who transform New York City into a hunting ground for super-powered individuals; and the extraterrestrial Venom symbiote, which bonds itself to Parker and negatively influences him, threatening to destroy his personal relationships.
Miles Morales is a major character in the Marvel's Spider-Man series. He is playable in the original Marvel's Spider-Man in which he is introduced, the main protagonist of Miles Morales, and playable in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Under the guidance of Peter Parker, Miles Morales becomes a second Spider-Man of New York City, and Harlem's own Spider-Man.
Peter Benjamin Parker, also known by his superhero alias Spider-Man, is the main protagonist of the Marvel's Spider-Man series. A resident of New York City, Peter gained his powers after a bite from a radioactive spider at age fifteen. Opting to maintain a secret identity, he employed his newfound abilities and crafted web gadgets to protect New York. Eight years deep into his superhero journey, Peter stands as a seasoned and adept crime fighter but frequently grapples with balancing his superhero duties and personal life.
