I like SmartSuite but why didn't you compare the API calls limit?
The SmartSuite only has 5,000 & 50,000 per month while Airtable has 100,000 & Unlimited per month for the respective plans.
I mean 5000 API calls are too low for the plan, making it useless as a backend database for my use case. Does SmartSuite offer unlimited calls via addon plan etc?

Kubir%, I wanted to get back to you and let you know that our API Call limits are 25,000 for Team, 100,000 for Professional, and 500,000 for Enterprise. We also have a Signature Plan that allows us to customize this to your specific needs.

Saw your other channel :) CEO of smartsuite? Gotta admi UI looks great agree. How does it handle large data sets, 10, 50, 100k? And large pastes, 5000 rows - this is Airtable's key advantage: the grid - paste, general working in the grid works amazingly well in low internet conditions also, the optimising they have done (from a dev point of view) is mindblowing., must have taken a lot of money and years

@al3xj, great question. We do support bulk paste in our grid view like you are asking about, and performance is on par with Airtbale and others that provide this capability. We also support record sets of up to 500,000 records per solution.

Sounds amazing! Every time I look into Airtable, I think it's almost great, but there are so many little gotchas. And then there the pricing which isn't competitive for individuals. Gonna give SmartSuite a test drive.

Yup. SmartSuite is solid. And out the gate it’s easy to setup.

I'm looking into my options. I have go say that as a small business owner I wish that there was one fee for up to 10 users. This is so expensive to pay per seat. This is my biggest issue with every single project management software other than Asana which is what we currently use. We have outgrown this software but I have to keep my costs down. I wish you would do free up to 10 users or even 1 fee for 10 users I would pay for it!!!

I'm getting so tired of these "smartsuite wins over airtable" videos. Same thing over and over. In my opinion, misleading, with very generalized comments that glaze over airtable's real capabilities. I have an Airtable with over 25k records, using it as an ERP with user permissions, charts, visualizations, dashboards, linked relationships, comments, task assignments, etc. etc. Tasks, subtasks and "mytasks" can all be built. I use it for a small business with 8 employees. It does everything. It's fully customizable, and it has front end web interfaces, not just back end tables - something that smartsuite hasn't tried to touch, and hugely valuable. Price/user/mo is basically the same. Airtable isn't perfect - there are pros and cons to each. Neither is perfect. One thing that smartsuite does offer over airtable is a much higher paying referral fee, leading to all these videos.

Michael, I am sorry that you feel this way about SmartSuite and this video that Dimitri created. I am the founder and CEO of SmartSuite, and our team takes pride in the features that we release each month and do our very best to deliver the features that our customers request from us. It sounds like you have built workflows on Airtable that meet the needs of your business, and that is great - as there are many capable no-code products to choose from, and sometimes this comes down to personal preference. We don't have anything bad to say about Airtable. But, there are some major differences between our products that, for many customers, are significant, and we encourage no-code experts like Dimitri to share their thoughts on use cases in videos like this.
You are also correct that we have not yet released a feature set that is similar to AT Interfaces, but stay tuned as we are working on some interesting features in this area that will be released in about 6 weeks.
If you would ever like a personal demo of SmartSuite, please let me know, and I would be personally happy to provide this and discuss your business.

Jon, I'm pleased that you responded. I hope it's clear that I have nothing against Smartsuite. I've researched and continue to research many of these solutions, because AT isn't perfect yet. Smartsuite appears to be a powerful tool. My hope is that these reviews of competing products be well informed, transparent and honest.@@jondarbyshire5205
