Hello editors! ✏️ Have you started freelance editing? If so, which style of editing do you offer? Likewise, if you're thinking of freelance editing, what genres would you like to work on? Thanks for watching! 🤎📚
thank you for all the great information! I'm wondering do you have any insights on sensitivity reading? for example, if an author has a character that's a different race than them, they might want to consult a sensitivity reader of that race to ensure they are not being offensive or to receive feedback on how to make that character feel more authentic. I've heard of this kind of editing before and it seems like something i'd like to try but I'm not sure how much of a demand there is for it. would this fall under developmental editing? thanks again :)
You're welcome! And yes, there's a great demand for sensitivity readers. I view them more of a specialized beta reader because they're focusing on one aspect, but for platforms like Fiverr and Upwork, you can create 2 listings for sensitivity reading (one under beta reading and one under editing) to see which one draws in more clients. I'd also check out those freelance platforms to gain a better idea of what to charge based on what's offered.
@@AmberCampbellBooks Interesting, that is good to know! I'll have to do some research on beta reading as well, then. Thank you for taking the time to respond and share! :)

I love my freelance editing side hustle! I offer developmental edits.
It's the best! I still have clients who want a more in-depth developmental look, so I'll refer them to you when they ask.
@AmberCampbellBooks oh, thank you so much x
