Gotta love Amazon they gave me that skill now I make 33hr to move like 20 trailers in 8hrs lol😂 I thank them everyday for giving me the ability then firing me.or I probably still be with them doing more moves for less money. I work in the north east if anyone was wondering
All that space. At the rail I work at the spots start at the yellow square and the train track replace the other end. Most tinea chassis are lined up length wise taking out 2 feet of space. Basically backing is so tight that the difference between making it and hitting another trailer is literally 5 inches. They auto fire if you hit anything so basically make sure you have two spaces before you back
Nobody should ever stand behind the trailer while it's in reverse at any time your people need a saftey guy out there to spot from the drivers passenger 40
I was at Amazon working with the non inventory department. I got promoted to the transportation department and that video was my first time in any truck. I got my cdl almost a year now and I’m no longer with Amazon.
@@truckerolu6899 I could see amazon doing that I got a P&G and uniliver couple more good jobs here where I live and u got to have 2 years experience..lol
@@notyourechochamber3137 if they have computers in the trucks like most companies now, moves will appear on the computer, you tap it to “claim” the move. You move the trailer, mark it as complete, it then tells you if they called for a new trailer in dock or if that is the end of your moves for that trailer and to wait for another one. Most yards will divide the yard into areas and assign drivers respectively. If you need help you just give a holler on the CB.
All that cursing and fowl language is bad business. It's guy's like you that make it hard for everybody. Where is safety protocol at. Moving trailers at night without lights, DAMNNNNN.

What company are you working for now? I have an interview tomorrow and test with an exchange warehouse
Where do you work now? I was a yard jockey for amazon to
Legend has it he's still trying to back it into the hole.
I love yard jockey work!!😍😍
Woooo this is my first week shifting at UPS as well here in SoCal!!!!! I prefer this way over 90 ° back, but it depends on the tandems as well.
I have a peak bud shifting at 1am, I’m not pito trained so I’m doing it in a tractor, ready for peak to be over with

I’m looking into truck driving.. I have no experience so just doing some research on how to get started. A yard jockey is a good way to get started?
If you want to learn how to back up trailers, it’s a good way to start
Most of the time they hire experienced drivers to be yard jockeys they want those trailers backed in fast !
The wheels at All times Man
Screw the 45 degree 90 degrees are way easier to complete self working parking

Got it in. Didn't hit anything. Looks good to me.
HaHaHa 7 minute video to park in wide open space. I work a crowded RailYard and would have parked that bitch under 45 seconds.
@@JKilted I think he's new.
@@JKilted don’t take me 45 seconds now tho but yea I was in training and getting used to driving a truck I’ve never driven before.
Took long, in some companies they’ll give 7 minutes to back up, 3 conventional side and 4 minutes blind side..!
I passed conventional side and blind side in 3 minutes in tight space..
this guy had it easy and still took long..
I LOVE MY JOB!!!
Where I live they require 2 years of over-the-road experience to be a yard dog

Yes sir he got It
What Amazon is this
how do you know which trailers go where? I’m looking into this job
They should tell you over radio if not there is a computer in it with the specific move
They will tell you when you sign in at the shipping and receiving office.
But I’m my defense, I’m speaking as a OTR driver, not a yard jockey.
@@DEMENTEGLOCK If there are other jockies in the yard, does everyone just take turns? Hows that work
