Here is everything you might've easily missed that you should know about the game. 1. The doll being in a gift box looking like the casket in which Ron is in. 2. The dad being haunted in the hotel references the attempt to free him from the dolls master. 3. The door slamming 14 times in the intro referencing the 14 days after Rons passing. 4. The doll's and the mom's twisted neck referring to his death. 5. The "grown up conversation" that Ron eavesdrop in the beginning of the game is the one in the end in which the mom leaves him. 6. The thing that mister red face puts in the closet in the beginning is Rons body. 7. The end shows the way in which the body of the other children were stored with the first one being by fire, second one being buried and the third one was put in the back of a car. 8. The spell being the motel card which Ron tossed into the room where his mom was being questioned by the police, meaning when the doll said it was the way to defeat Mr. Red Face he wasn't lying. 9. The doll mentions that its neck deformity is nothing compared to the flaw of the other dolls, implying the other children we see died in a worse way than Ron. 10. The woman in the closet references the 2002 logo. 11. The light stops flickering the moment Ron dies which is supposed to represent his heartbeat. 12. The doll's Master represents how the abusive dad acts like an abusive Master towards Ron, so the doll"s master is in fact Mr. Red Face. That's also why you see the scene of Ron's death transitioning into Mr. Red Face holding the doll. 13. The mother sees Ron during nighttime as a ghost for example when she found him in the closet, not knowing he's a ghost. It's like this in the Vietnamese culture ( the creators of the game are Vietnamese ), during nighttime souls can be seen, but during daylight they can't, that's why the mother finds the kid's dead body during daytime, because she couldn't find him cause his ghost couldn't be seen. 14. The dad is Mr. Red Face because your face turns red when you drink too much, that's also why the mother made up that name, because she sees his dad like that all the time, with a red face. 15. The story is based on a true story which took place in 2017. 16. At the start when Ron received the doll, they couldn’t open Ron’s closet because his stories deny it. 17. Ron entered the afterlife trough his parent's closet, and the cat was an angel. 18. His mother said that if he was good, Mr. Red Face would give him a gift, she meant that she always believed that the father would at least do something good for his son, because the boy was still too young and she didn't want the boy to have a bad opinion of his father. 19. I'm not sure about this one but I think the magic trick about the spaghetti which kept reappearing is because he was a ghost and wasn't actually eating the food, but the doll made him think he ate it. 20. Every single encounter with mister red face is a hint: -The doll slamming the bottle on the table and turning into red face being a nod to the dad turning into red face. -The first encounter at night is the dad killing Ron. -The floating doll shows you Ron's perspective of his murder. For anyone wondering why her mother noticed his death late. Creator of the gane is vietnamese where in vietnam there is belief where dead souls can be seen during the night time. When her mom always got home late, she would see the ghost trying to haunt his father every day in the closet, thinking her child is still alive and having some mental problems like schizophrenia ( which is why she mentions pills), until one day where she stays for his son during the day, time when souls are not visible. This is the moment she realizes her son is not there and finds him dead in the closet, the place where he usually goes during the night to “bring dad home” . This is also the reason why his dad was saying stop punishing me because kid was haunting him for 14 days straght after his death until he realized that knowing part of himself. Honestly the game is so fking deep
and the mom in reallity didn't breakfast the promise is that she was in day light and report his dead as he see him and that so heart breaking when he say she broke the promise 😭😭
This game has so much foreshadowing. When the doll was drinking out of the bottle and broke the glass, it was the dolls way of trying to make the kid remember that his father was drinking that same way the night he died. The way the glass hits the table was the same amount of times the father did it. The entire gameplay was just the tiniest bit of memories he had of the incident, and the doll represents it.
"Your neck seems a bit loose, though" I cried so hard I already knew right then what was gonna go down. And when the doll tried justifying it by saying "it could've been worse" and "we all make mistakes" it's basically Ron's subconscious trying to undermine the intensity of the situation. My heart is aching.
@thenitpickchannel9993 it breaks my heart even more knowing that this is what a lot of children do to try to protect the image of their parents. Like "yeah my dad hits me but at least I get to eat every night". Children will do anything to paint their parents in a good light no matter how horrible they are, because "it could've been worse".
The kid still wanting to save his dad after how badly he treated him is so heartbreaking. Children are so innocent and forgiving. Should never have to deal with abuse 🙁
Thats why that when you get a partner you should know them first before getting married and have kids, or just maybe family planning. Coz imagine i this time youre reading this a child/anyone is getting abused..and ye we all should be grate full we do not have situations like that.

the “please stop punishing me” foreshadowing is the best in my opinion, because the dad has been laying in a motel for 14 days straight being haunted by his dead son telling him to come home. OHH THATS TOO GOOD

Nope you're slightly incorrect on one part, the part shows WHERE is the corpse of the kid, not HOW the kids died (Ron died from choking, not hiding in closet, same as other kids except the burning kid perhaps)

I slowly started realizing that the red faced man is made up and it’s just the dad, and the nail in the coffin was when he was drinking because of when the bottle was being lifted and drunken when no one was there

It doesn't seem like he went to school, so I think he was a toddler, probably 3 or 4. Two of the other kids were wearing a pamper and a onesie, so they were all probably just toddlers as well :\
every detail serves a purpose ... Even the food, when Ron eats it, it is always restored back, because he wasnt alive. At that point he was already dead, and thats why the food was never eaten... The mom, when coming back from work, always noticed her sons favourite dish to be left not eaten, but she thought he was sleeping in late ... This also adds to the fact that when she came home late at night, that was the only time she could see her son, since his ghost could only be seen during the night, and so she thought he was still alive, so thats why she left that note ... This game is too heartbreaking
ohhh okay cause I was like "you went 14 days without seeing your son and you didn't think anything of it?" her seeing his ghost at night makes way more sense!, especially with the doll mentioning her getting up in the morning
It’s common for victims of abuse to feel this kind of way, especially when the abuser is their parent, and the victim is the child. Because in the end, they’re still your parent, right? They have to love you. You know that. Even if the parent gets angry at you sometimes and hits you, you still love and care for them like they do to you, they’re not bad people just because of that. Stockholm syndrome is not only used to describe a captor and their hostage, but can also be used to describe abuse. Even if the child goes through a lot because of the parent, they either cannot realize it properly because they’re too young and/or they’re just powerless, like Ronnie here. Both abuse and losing a parent is extremely damaging and difficult for anyone, especially a child like Ron, but the child would still prefer to go through abuse than to say goodbye to them. Why? Simply because they are their parents. This is a game beyond amazing, the fact that it portrays familial abuse so accurately from the child’s perspective is haunting and tells a lot about how much work the creator put into the storyline, as well as the foreshadowing.
here’s a foreshadowing detail i haven’t seen anyone speak about so far that still has me in chills bro, so you know when red face puts the doll in his little present or whatever, so FIRST OF ALL, when red face is putting the doll in the closet is is LITTERALLY foreshadowing ron’s dad putting him in the closet. and not only that but when ron gets the doll, the doll says “i was made by master” and stuff, however ron replies with “your neck is a bit loose” and the doll says, “my master makes MISTAKES” as in the mistake of the death. later on in the game the doll even goes on to explain how everytime something happens pick plack boom, memories vanish and he returns back to THE DAY HE WAS MURDERED. so basically red face putting the doll in the closet was ACTIALLY him watching his dad put him in the closet but in his perspective his dad was this big scary monster. this whole time mr red face was just the angry version of ron’s dad that ron made up to make his dad look like a victim.
Just to be make it clear, the mom never cheated, she was actually working her shift late every day to provide for her family (which the dad does not if you haven't realized), so she never had the time to cheat. The dad was just looking for an excuse to blame things on his family and beat them up.
I thought that too at first but I am not sure since during their convo at 34:12 she did say "No matter what I do, it's my business. I still bring money home to support my child" meaning it doesn't matter if I am having an affair I still bring home money for my child unlike him who's just sitting around drinking all day. But I could be wrong and I am just reading into the lines too much. Nonetheless her having an affair or not doesn't change the fact the dad did look for excuses to lash out at his family and was overall horrible nothing justifies what he did

great story telling. when the doll was showing off his "magic" by lifting the beer bottle, he was mimicking his father drinking, and shattered the bottle just like what his father did
i dont think the doll was mimicking the father. At the end we can see ron's father drinking in the same position, same animation. while the doll was lifting up the bottle and "Drinking" we can see a flash in the animation where the father is holding the bottle. Since at the time the doll was "lifting up the bottle" ron (the child we play as) hasnt realised he's dead yet so he coudnt see the father who was actually the one who drank from the bottle. Even when ron asks the doll what happened, the doll responds: "i dont know, you figure it out" meaning the doll wasnt the one who lifted the bottle and by saying "you figure it out" meaning the doll was trying to hint at how ron was actually dead at that moment too, just like how the doll said that it has been trying to tell ron how he was dead the whole time. (im sorry if its a hard read, my grammar isnt the best since english isnt my mother-language!)

I think that where the other kids are like the fire, hole, and couch is the place where they died or got hiding because Ron is in the closet as that is where his father hid his dead body in

It's just depressing when you realize that the fight scene between the mom and dad happened on the same day the mom told Ron to go to sleep to get his gift, and after he did go to his room, the parents fought, leading to Mr. Redface (Ron's dad), coming to Ron's room, choking him to death, and opening the closet to hide his body.
I just realized when the doll made the plate of food last forever that was foreshadowing to him being dead. He couldn’t eat the food. So he believed the doll made it everlasting

Crazy details: 1. When the mom comes in, she snaps her neck the exact same way Redface snapped Rons neck 2. The kids were in certain spots because it was their cause of death. 3. The father became Redface right after he got drunk, people who drink say they are a whole new person when they're drunk. 4. Redface punished the doll the same way he did to Ron, because the doll says "I feel everything you feel", the doll might also be Ron in the future. 5. The doll slammed the bottle on the table, the same way Redface did. 6. When the dad is trapped, he says "Please stop punishing me", it foreshadows after the death of Ron when Ron haunts him. 7. The door was opened and closed 14 times in the beginning, and Ron was dead for 14 days. 8. When the doll made the food restore every time Ron ate it, it's because he was dead and couldnt eat the food. 9. The "Spell" was actually the motel card, and when his mom got taken, she was crying in the police station. That's why she randomly got the card. 10. When Mr. Redface comes in for the first time, it was actually when he got killed. Like the Doll said, "Everything that happened was fake" 11. When the doll was introduced, he was in a box, the box had the same texture as Ron's coffin
It wasn’t their cause of death, it was where their bodies were hidden/discarded. He didn’t die in the closet his body was hidden in the closet, for example.
I’d like too add that he had been dead for 14 days but wasn’t actually in the closet the funeral had already happened and it’s been 14 days since the incident took place. Hence why the mom had “found” him at the end that was a flashback to when he was found but he wasn’t found 14 days later the flashback is shown again to Ron because he had been gone at that point and in limbo and denial for 14 days. The only updated/ REAL memory is the tv saying he was caught at the very end. Even the interrogation had already happened we even saw the haunting had already happened with the dad saying “stop torturing me”. It shows that Ron himself was the last to move on really 14 days he was in denial.
Just realized... When the boy found the doll "Ron" and saw that the dolls head was hanging maybe that was supposed to show the boy how he died, because when the dad killed the boy, the boys head was snaped...
Also I think the other 3 kids at the ending it's shown each one were they died the first one died by being burned alive the other one was thrown to a cave or a hole and the other one the third one got driven over... damn that's sad

Seeing shit like this is honestly so weird because it hits way too close to home. When I was a kid my mom had to work a lot of late night shifts because of my dad's constant drinking problem and not being able to find a job of his own for obvious reasons. He luckily never hit me but he'd constantly fight with my mom both physically and verbally to the point where he'd threaten to cut her eyes out. This was part of why she didn't leave him till I was around eight, she was afraid he'd kill her or try and kidnap me. Even if he didn't hit me though, I still suffered a lot of emotional abuse from him and he'd usually yell at me if I cried and wouldn't let me eat or sleep if I pissed him off. My mom was also very emotionally distant with me because she was instead focused more on protecting me physically from him and trying not to get her ass whooped by my dad. This caused me to dissociate a lot of the time and I used toys as a really big way to cope, I had a stuffed lion that I would bring everywhere with me and was 100% convinced that he was real and would brush his mane for him and everything. Even after all of that though I still couldn't hate my dad because at the same time, he was also the man that would borrow money from his friends so he could buy me those toys or beg my mom to get them for me/paint with me whenever he was sober and take me biking or to the park while my mom was working all day. We're fine now but omg seeing video games and any sort of media that has to do with this subject fucks with me sometimes cause a lot of them always pinpoint it down so perfectly it's crazy. I would be surprised if the creator hasn't gone through it themselves or if this wasn't based off a true story, researched, etc.

Some things you might find interesting: -The Door in the intro opened 14 times because it took the mom 14 days to find the corpse -When Ron was visited by Mr.Redface for the gift, it was actually his dad who came into his room to kill him and throw him into the closet, which was after the arguement in the intro. -The reason why it took the mom 14 days to realize he is dead, is because she always came back home at night, which in Viet people believe to see ghosts at night, When she took the day off, she didnt break her promise, she cant see him during the daytime and when she came looking for him she found him dead. -The Mom wasnt concerned that the dad left because she assumed he left after her threat to him. -The Mom noticed her son not eating, which is because he is dead, the doll made up the magic trick to refill it because he never actually ate, he was a ghost. -The Intro was the song that Bruce used to tune out Rons cries via his Radio. -The Scene where Bruce hit his wife, played directly after Ron went to bed, Bruce went drinking and after he was so drunk his face got red, he killed his own son (which from Ron's point of view was Mr.Redface bringing him a gift and then going into the closet) -The Scene where Ron goes to his dad trying to ''find him'' the room resembles the motel room he went to after killing his son, when ron approached him trying to get him back home, in reality he was haunting him. -The Scene where you were supposed to throw a spell card into a room and take cover, was the same as where the mom cried at the police station after finding Ron. Rons ghost threw the ''spell'' aka the motel card in the room, and by that made Mr.Redface's aka Bruces location known to ''defeat'' him aka getting him arrested. It was Rons ghost getting himself saved by defeating Mr.Redface, the mom didnt recognize the card because it was Rons ghost who threw it. -Ron died on his Birthday. -The Kids are in the afterlife, and are in the same spots where their corpses are at. -The Kids were all murdered by their parents, but since they said they are waiting for them, one might assume they havent been caught. -The Dolls neck, and the moms neck were loose in some scenes to foreshadow Rons death.
For those who don’t know, this entire game is a giant symbolism, the doll is Ron’s conscious, Mr red face is the dad, the 3 kids are kids who died, (Edited: and the places the bodies were hidden,) one In a fire, one in a car crash, another was buried in the woods, the “closet realm” is the afterlife, the “prison” Ron’s dad was in is the motel room, the spell card is the motel card, and the game is based on a true story, or multiple accounts of stuff like this. The foreshadowing is crazy. The dolls loose neck, the children in the poses they died in, the drink changing the dad, like showing how alcohol is dangerous and addictive, the mom crying in the room and Case THROWING THE CARD INTO THE ROOM!! I don’t know if you guys knew that, but when Case found the “spell” card, Ron called it “the spell to defeat Redface.” It put us in a dark room and made us throw the card into a room with a woman crying into her arms, and it killed redface. When the mom was crying, the hotel LOCATION card dropped on the floor, making the father get caught. He was living in a dream, all to help his mom catch his killer. The mom finding the dad at the hotel was like the kid killing redface. One of the best games I have ever seen, and I would watch this over and over again bc of case and the storyline. Thank you for playing this and showing the struggles of children and alcoholics. Love you case 🫶🏻 (props to someonerondom for this, but) and the mom’s neck spinning fully sideways probably means that she kills herself later on…or maybe a sign if something happening to the son. Additionally, when we found the dad in the room going crazy at the start and we wondered why he was, we were shown that the dead child body was the one asking him to come home, which most likely made the dad think he was going crazy, AND we found the motel card on his desk, which was called the “spell”
The ending where the other kids wave at him… it’s so sickening… one was burried alive, the other was set to flames, and the other was kidnapped… yet their happy…
Wow. So, the “grown-up conversation” in 6:17 was basically 33:04 which what lead to the cause of the boys’ death. This game was so well planned out and a great way to spread awareness too. My heart goes out to all kids that had gone through this 😢.
The way the door opened 14 times in the beginning before opening one final time is scaryy considering the kid was dead for 14 days before the mom found him.
So many hidden details, il list as many as i can remember. - At the start, the door opens and closes 14 times, which resembles the 14 days until the mom found Ron’s corpse in the closet. - Ron’s food kept regenerating because he couldn’t eat it since he was dead. This made the mom think that Ron was just oversleeping and never ate it, which is why it’s always still there. - the doll slams the bottle the same amount of times Bruce did the same night Ron was killed. The doll was trying to make Ron remember. - Dad’s “prison” was actually the motel room he was staying in, hiding from police. When Ron talks to him, in real life, Ron is actually tormenting and haunting him, which is why Bruce kept saying “please stop punishing me.” - in dad’s prison, the spell to kill red face is actually the motel card. When you throw it in the room to kill red face, you can see a woman crying, which is actually the mom in the interrogation room. At the end, you see that a motel card comes out of nowhere and that motel card was the spell Ron threw in. - The dolls neck was loose resembling Ron’s death. He said it was a mistake that his master, Red Face, made but this is actually resembling the mistake that BRUCE made when he killed Ron by snapping his neck. - the mom only finds out Ron is dead at daytime because Ron’s spirit is out at night, but not during the day. Mom comes home late, so she never has the chance to figure out that Ron is dead and only sees his spirit until she eventually takes off of work to take care of Ron. - All the kids at the end are in the positions they were in when they died. Girl with the dotted read was buried alive, boy with orange hair was burned alive, Ron was sitting the same way he was when he was killed, and the last guy i forgot. For those who don’t understand what happened in the end, the “spell” that the boy got from his dads “prison” was actually his motel card. After he gets that he later on throws it in the room where his mother was crying,but the room Where his mother was crying was the police station, where the mother told the officers what happened and they didn’t know where he was until the “spell” the boy there was found by the mother on the floor and they found out where his father was hiding because the spell was the dads motel card and why the father was “punished” was cause the boy was haunting him the whole entire time
The "Spell" card "killing" Mr.Redface is also a subtle reference to the fact that it was the cars itself that got Ron's dad arrested, the card was the key to discovering his dad's whereabouts thus..ending the reign of Mr.Redface

Some Facts about Bad Parenting: the door in the beginning opened 14 times because that's how long it took the mom to find him. the doll's tilted neck and the doll drinking the alcohol is foreshadowing to how the dad broke the kid's neck and how the dad drank the alcohol. Mr. redface is called that because of how red the father's face was when he was drunk. The mom's neck tilt is also foreshadow to the kid's death. the other kids are all also dead, one found unerground, one burned, one found in a car trunk. if you didnt know, the motel card is the "spell" we threw in our mother's prison, and the dad kept saying "please stop punishing me" because he, unlike us, saw us as a ghost tormenting him.
Is the studio's name (2OO2) supposed to be year when this story is set? Those few pieces of electronic in game looks like something from late 90s to early 2000s.

The doll's head in the start was tilted... and at the last the head of ron was tilted as well...doll mentioned that it can feel whatever ron does.....and the doll got punished by his master mr red face who looked exactly as ron's dad while he was drinking alchohol....as the doll got punished....it showed that ron got punished too as...RON IS THE DOLL....the doll that he is seeing after his death is nothing but to show ron the reality that he is dead and that the reason of his death is his dad AKA personified as red face the master.

36:08 I’ve been desensitized to modern horror/horror games, but man this part genuinely breaks my soul I feel so bad for the poor little kid I want to cry. Such a pure innocent and loving soul, even after thinking his dad was in danger despite what he did to him he decided to “save” him. What a sweet innocent soul. This game breaks my heart. However, I appreciate the developer for this game for giving me a new perspective on children, I never really liked being around kids cause I used to find them annoying but this game did a 180 on me. No wonder.. I thought Mr.RedFace actually beat the dad but the redface was him all along (he was probably being tormented by his conscience after killing his son that's why he kept begging to stop punishing him and it got even worse when he saw his son's soul). When he visited his father to "save" him he ACTUALLY visited him as a corpse and took the motel card(the spell). Mr.RedFace was finally "defeated" because he gave the motel card to his mom. The storyline of this game is absolutely genius, how everything pieces together, but also incredibly sad. Also, the FIRST time the kid tries to open the closet, I noticed that the doll says "The closet is *still* stuck...?" 10:03 idk that's just something I noticed that kinda implies that it happened before...
For anyone confused about the storyline, here’s what I gathered. So Ron was in an abusive household and one day after a horrible argument between his mom and dad, his dad snapped and killed him, before hiding the body in the closet. The mom found the son in the closest and although not a good mother, still mourned the loss. The other children we see are kids who were also in an abusive family and where they were represents where they were found(kid sitting by fire; body was burnt, kid in the back of the truck; found in the back of the truck, and kid in the hole; buried) Mr red face symbolizes all their abusers/killers, all embodied in one singular entity to help them pretend that the one that killed them wasn’t someone they loved, but some evil monster. This game is hella depressing
The saddest death in my opinion for the kids was the truck trunk death imagine your dad just throws you in a trunk and leaves you there for 3 days leaving you to die

Bro the foreshadowing is so good, like when ever we go to see our dad in the hotel we say “Dad come on, let’s go home”. And we see that when we haunt him, we are also saying “Let’s go home” over and over again
since caseoh is a bit late to the bad parenting thingy i wanna clear a few things up. the part where the mom finds ron in her closet is when she finds ron dead irl. the motel card is the spell card. the untexturted prision the dad was in is the motel. where the kids are is like purgatory of some sorts. the untexturted place the mom was in is the police station. all the events that transpire while ron has mini ron are all post death. including when the doll drinks the beer trying to jog ron's memories abt his own passing.
I read from a previous comment that the game was made by a Vietnamese creator. In Vietnamese culture there is a supposed thing (forgot the word) where you can see spirits at night but not in the day which is why the mother didn’t find the son until 14 days. She saw her son’s spirit because she was always out late and the day she stayed home she realised she was not seeing him which led her to see that something was wrong and search for her child, therefore only discovering then that he had died.
As someone who has a dad who’s a “Mr. RedFace” and a mom who constantly breaks promises this made me shed a tear. Luckily, my dad is doing a little better nowadays! ❤
i just keep thinking about this game. so the scenes where the dad is talking about being punished, in his point of view, the child is dead and tormenting him. and the scene with the mom, and throwing the "spell" was actually the child throwing the motel card. it did defeat the red faced man, because the dad was arrested. gosh this game was a breath of fresh air after so many lower quality ones. a game that leaves you thinking and realizing stuff when you're trying to fall asleep is an incredible one. (the drinking scene as well, where the doll matches how the dad drank.) edit: i also love that the abuse wasn't thrown in as a lazy shock factor, it was extremely relevant to the story and made it what it is. too many things when it comes to horror has randomly throw in trauma to shock the audience, but it holds no actual worth other than a cheap surprise. loved this.

Here’s what I’ve gathered of the full story just in case some of you need to know. The story begins with the kid(Ron) being alive, talking to his mom late at night on his birthday. He is alive until the first encounter with “Mr RedFace”. During the cutscene, we see Mr redface move towards the closet instead of leaving the doll there and going away. This is foreshadowing to how it turns out the father is Mr redface and Ron hallucinates that he is Mr redface after his mom tells him about Mr redface. When Ron wakes up to find the doll, it tells Ron that he has the same name and looks the same as Ron. When Ron says “your neck is a little loose”, it is foreshadowing how Ron died to his father snapping his neck. The doll is trying his best to give Ron the hint that he’s no longer alive, by taking him to visit the other children in the afterlife, and showing him that he can’t really eat anything because he’s dead, but Ron still hallucinates that he is eating and it’s just refilling. When they visit the dad in the afterlife, no matter what Ron says to him, he replies with “please..stop…punishing…me..” because he is regretting killing his son and sees his dead son haunting him, but Ron does not realize it. Most of the game after that scene is Ron hallucinating in the afterlife until the moment that Mr Redface jumpscares us. At that moment we are having a flashback of the father killing Ron from Ron’s perspective, but Ron sees him as Mr Redface. We then witness the conversation between our parents the night before our dad gets drunk and murders us. After that, our mom finds Ron dead in the closet with a snapped neck. She’s goes to the police, and when they ask her of her husband’s current location, Ron’s ghost acts as a poltergeist and puts the hotel key card on the floor next to her, helping solve the case and put the father behind bars to rot for life. The last part of the game is us getting to go to the afterlife, realizing that the other kids there were also dead. Ron being dead for 14 days finally gets to rest in peace. Note: this took a long time to write, so drop a like on this comment.

At the end, it gives us hints how the other children died and how they were found. For instance, the red-haired one died from being burned, the black-haired kid possibly got buried alive. I can't really tell what the third child's was, and the main character was found in a closet.

1. The doll being in a gift box looking like the casket in which Ron is in.
2. The dad being haunted in the hotel references the attempt to free him from the dolls master.
3. The door slamming 14 times in the intro referencing the 14 days after Rons passing.
4. The doll's and the mom's twisted neck referring to his death.
5. The "grown up conversation" that Ron eavesdrop in the beginning of the game is the one in the end in which the mom leaves him.
6. The thing that mister red face puts in the closet in the beginning is Rons body.
7. The end shows the way in which the body of the other children were stored with the first one being by fire, second one being buried and the third one was put in the back of a car.
8. The spell being the motel card which Ron tossed into the room where his mom was being questioned by the police, meaning when the doll said it was the way to defeat Mr. Red Face he wasn't lying.
9. The doll mentions that its neck deformity is nothing compared to the flaw of the other dolls, implying the other children we see died in a worse way than Ron.

11. The light stops flickering the moment Ron dies which is supposed to represent his heartbeat.
12. The doll's Master represents how the abusive dad acts like an abusive Master towards Ron, so the doll"s master is in fact Mr. Red Face. That's also why you see the scene of Ron's death transitioning into Mr. Red Face holding the doll.
13. The mother sees Ron during nighttime as a ghost for example when she found him in the closet, not knowing he's a ghost. It's like this in the Vietnamese culture ( the creators of the game are Vietnamese ), during nighttime souls can be seen, but during daylight they can't, that's why the mother finds the kid's dead body during daytime, because she couldn't find him cause his ghost couldn't be seen.
14. The dad is Mr. Red Face because your face turns red when you drink too much, that's also why the mother made up that name, because she sees his dad like that all the time, with a red face.
15. The story is based on a true story which took place in 2017.
16. At the start when Ron received the doll, they couldn’t open Ron’s closet because his stories deny it.
17. Ron entered the afterlife trough his parent's closet, and the cat was an angel.
18. His mother said that if he was good, Mr. Red Face would give him a gift, she meant that she always believed that the father would at least do something good for his son, because the boy was still too young and she didn't want the boy to have a bad opinion of his father.
19. I'm not sure about this one but I think the magic trick about the spaghetti which kept reappearing is because he was a ghost and wasn't actually eating the food, but the doll made him think he ate it.
20. Every single encounter with mister red face is a hint:
-The doll slamming the bottle on the table and turning into red face being a nod to the dad turning into red face.
-The first encounter at night is the dad killing Ron.
-The floating doll shows you Ron's perspective of his murder.

For anyone wondering why her mother noticed his death late. Creator of the gane is vietnamese where in vietnam there is belief where dead souls can be seen during the night time. When her mom always got home late, she would see the ghost trying to haunt his father every day in the closet, thinking her child is still alive and having some mental problems like schizophrenia ( which is why she mentions pills), until one day where she stays for his son during the day, time when souls are not visible. This is the moment she realizes her son is not there and finds him dead in the closet, the place where he usually goes during the night to “bring dad home” . This is also the reason why his dad was saying stop punishing me because kid was haunting him for 14 days straght after his death until he realized that knowing part of himself. Honestly the game is so fking deep

This game has so much foreshadowing. When the doll was drinking out of the bottle and broke the glass, it was the dolls way of trying to make the kid remember that his father was drinking that same way the night he died. The way the glass hits the table was the same amount of times the father did it. The entire gameplay was just the tiniest bit of memories he had of the incident, and the doll represents it.

Because in the end, they’re still your parent, right? They have to love you. You know that. Even if the parent gets angry at you sometimes and hits you, you still love and care for them like they do to you, they’re not bad people just because of that.
Stockholm syndrome is not only used to describe a captor and their hostage, but can also be used to describe abuse. Even if the child goes through a lot because of the parent, they either cannot realize it properly because they’re too young and/or they’re just powerless, like Ronnie here. Both abuse and losing a parent is extremely damaging and difficult for anyone, especially a child like Ron, but the child would still prefer to go through abuse than to say goodbye to them. Why? Simply because they are their parents.
This is a game beyond amazing, the fact that it portrays familial abuse so accurately from the child’s perspective is haunting and tells a lot about how much work the creator put into the storyline, as well as the foreshadowing.

here’s a foreshadowing detail i haven’t seen anyone speak about so far that still has me in chills bro, so you know when red face puts the doll in his little present or whatever, so FIRST OF ALL, when red face is putting the doll in the closet is is LITTERALLY foreshadowing ron’s dad putting him in the closet. and not only that but when ron gets the doll, the doll says “i was made by master” and stuff, however ron replies with “your neck is a bit loose” and the doll says, “my master makes MISTAKES” as in the mistake of the death. later on in the game the doll even goes on to explain how everytime something happens pick plack boom, memories vanish and he returns back to THE DAY HE WAS MURDERED. so basically red face putting the doll in the closet was ACTIALLY him watching his dad put him in the closet but in his perspective his dad was this big scary monster. this whole time mr red face was just the angry version of ron’s dad that ron made up to make his dad look like a victim.
Just to be make it clear, the mom never cheated, she was actually working her shift late every day to provide for her family (which the dad does not if you haven't realized), so she never had the time to cheat. The dad was just looking for an excuse to blame things on his family and beat them up.

At the end we can see ron's father drinking in the same position, same animation. while the doll was lifting up the bottle and "Drinking" we can see a flash in the animation where the father is holding the bottle. Since at the time the doll was "lifting up the bottle" ron (the child we play as) hasnt realised he's dead yet so he coudnt see the father who was actually the one who drank from the bottle.
Even when ron asks the doll what happened, the doll responds: "i dont know, you figure it out" meaning the doll wasnt the one who lifted the bottle and by saying "you figure it out" meaning the doll was trying to hint at how ron was actually dead at that moment too, just like how the doll said that it has been trying to tell ron how he was dead the whole time.

4. Redface punished the doll the same way he did to Ron, because the doll says "I feel everything you feel", the doll might also be Ron in the future.
5. The doll slammed the bottle on the table, the same way Redface did.
6. When the dad is trapped, he says "Please stop punishing me", it foreshadows after the death of Ron when Ron haunts him.
7. The door was opened and closed 14 times in the beginning, and Ron was dead for 14 days.

I’d like too add that he had been dead for 14 days but wasn’t actually in the closet the funeral had already happened and it’s been 14 days since the incident took place. Hence why the mom had “found” him at the end that was a flashback to when he was found but he wasn’t found 14 days later the flashback is shown again to Ron because he had been gone at that point and in limbo and denial for 14 days. The only updated/ REAL memory is the tv saying he was caught at the very end. Even the interrogation had already happened we even saw the haunting had already happened with the dad saying “stop torturing me”. It shows that Ron himself was the last to move on really 14 days he was in denial.
Just realized... When the boy found the doll "Ron" and saw that the dolls head was hanging maybe that was supposed to show the boy how he died, because when the dad killed the boy, the boys head was snaped...
Also I think the other 3 kids at the ending it's shown each one were they died the first one died by being burned alive the other one was thrown to a cave or a hole and the other one the third one got driven over... damn that's sad

Seeing shit like this is honestly so weird because it hits way too close to home. When I was a kid my mom had to work a lot of late night shifts because of my dad's constant drinking problem and not being able to find a job of his own for obvious reasons. He luckily never hit me but he'd constantly fight with my mom both physically and verbally to the point where he'd threaten to cut her eyes out. This was part of why she didn't leave him till I was around eight, she was afraid he'd kill her or try and kidnap me. Even if he didn't hit me though, I still suffered a lot of emotional abuse from him and he'd usually yell at me if I cried and wouldn't let me eat or sleep if I pissed him off. My mom was also very emotionally distant with me because she was instead focused more on protecting me physically from him and trying not to get her ass whooped by my dad. This caused me to dissociate a lot of the time and I used toys as a really big way to cope, I had a stuffed lion that I would bring everywhere with me and was 100% convinced that he was real and would brush his mane for him and everything. Even after all of that though I still couldn't hate my dad because at the same time, he was also the man that would borrow money from his friends so he could buy me those toys or beg my mom to get them for me/paint with me whenever he was sober and take me biking or to the park while my mom was working all day. We're fine now but omg seeing video games and any sort of media that has to do with this subject fucks with me sometimes cause a lot of them always pinpoint it down so perfectly it's crazy. I would be surprised if the creator hasn't gone through it themselves or if this wasn't based off a true story, researched, etc.

Some things you might find interesting:
-The Door in the intro opened 14 times because it took the mom 14 days to find the corpse
-When Ron was visited by Mr.Redface for the gift, it was actually his dad who came into his room to kill him and throw him into the closet, which was after the arguement in the intro.
-The reason why it took the mom 14 days to realize he is dead, is because she always came back home at night, which in Viet people believe to see ghosts at night, When she took the day off, she didnt break her promise, she cant see him during the daytime and when she came looking for him she found him dead.
-The Mom wasnt concerned that the dad left because she assumed he left after her threat to him.
-The Mom noticed her son not eating, which is because he is dead, the doll made up the magic trick to refill it because he never actually ate, he was a ghost.
-The Intro was the song that Bruce used to tune out Rons cries via his Radio.
-The Scene where Bruce hit his wife, played directly after Ron went to bed, Bruce went drinking and after he was so drunk his face got red, he killed his own son (which from Ron's point of view was Mr.Redface bringing him a gift and then going into the closet)
-The Scene where Ron goes to his dad trying to ''find him'' the room resembles the motel room he went to after killing his son, when ron approached him trying to get him back home, in reality he was haunting him.
-The Scene where you were supposed to throw a spell card into a room and take cover, was the same as where the mom cried at the police station after finding Ron. Rons ghost threw the ''spell'' aka the motel card in the room, and by that made Mr.Redface's aka Bruces location known to ''defeat'' him aka getting him arrested. It was Rons ghost getting himself saved by defeating Mr.Redface, the mom didnt recognize the card because it was Rons ghost who threw it.
-Ron died on his Birthday.
-The Kids are in the afterlife, and are in the same spots where their corpses are at.
-The Kids were all murdered by their parents, but since they said they are waiting for them, one might assume they havent been caught.
-The Dolls neck, and the moms neck were loose in some scenes to foreshadow Rons death.
Don't forget the box the Ron doll came in was Ron's casket

For those who don’t know, this entire game is a giant symbolism, the doll is Ron’s conscious, Mr red face is the dad, the 3 kids are kids who died, (Edited: and the places the bodies were hidden,) one In a fire, one in a car crash, another was buried in the woods, the “closet realm” is the afterlife, the “prison” Ron’s dad was in is the motel room, the spell card is the motel card, and the game is based on a true story, or multiple accounts of stuff like this. This game points a finger at all the kids who deal with this stuff, and calls them out, but the game is still depressing, overall, really cool game

The innocence and forgiveness of him trying to save his dad besides the bad-treatment from em.. it's a proof that kids deserves parents but some parents doesn't deserve kids
The foreshadowing is crazy. The dolls loose neck, the children in the poses they died in, the drink changing the dad, like showing how alcohol is dangerous and addictive, the mom crying in the room and Case THROWING THE CARD INTO THE ROOM!! I don’t know if you guys knew that, but when Case found the “spell” card, Ron called it “the spell to defeat Redface.” It put us in a dark room and made us throw the card into a room with a woman crying into her arms, and it killed redface. When the mom was crying, the hotel LOCATION card dropped on the floor, making the father get caught. He was living in a dream, all to help his mom catch his killer. The mom finding the dad at the hotel was like the kid killing redface. One of the best games I have ever seen, and I would watch this over and over again bc of case and the storyline. Thank you for playing this and showing the struggles of children and alcoholics. Love you case 🫶🏻 (props to someonerondom for this, but) and the mom’s neck spinning fully sideways probably means that she kills herself later on…or maybe a sign if something happening to the son. Additionally, when we found the dad in the room going crazy at the start and we wondered why he was, we were shown that the dead child body was the one asking him to come home, which most likely made the dad think he was going crazy, AND we found the motel card on his desk, which was called the “spell”

- At the start, the door opens and closes 14 times, which resembles the 14 days until the mom found Ron’s corpse in the closet.
- Ron’s food kept regenerating because he couldn’t eat it since he was dead. This made the mom think that Ron was just oversleeping and never ate it, which is why it’s always still there.
- the doll slams the bottle the same amount of times Bruce did the same night Ron was killed. The doll was trying to make Ron remember.
- Dad’s “prison” was actually the motel room he was staying in, hiding from police. When Ron talks to him, in real life, Ron is actually tormenting and haunting him, which is why Bruce kept saying “please stop punishing me.”
- in dad’s prison, the spell to kill red face is actually the motel card. When you throw it in the room to kill red face, you can see a woman crying, which is actually the mom in the interrogation room. At the end, you see that a motel card comes out of nowhere and that motel card was the spell Ron threw in.
- The dolls neck was loose resembling Ron’s death. He said it was a mistake that his master, Red Face, made but this is actually resembling the mistake that BRUCE made when he killed Ron by snapping his neck.
- the mom only finds out Ron is dead at daytime because Ron’s spirit is out at night, but not during the day. Mom comes home late, so she never has the chance to figure out that Ron is dead and only sees his spirit until she eventually takes off of work to take care of Ron.
- All the kids at the end are in the positions they were in when they died. Girl with the dotted read was buried alive, boy with orange hair was burned alive, Ron was sitting the same way he was when he was killed, and the last guy i forgot. Lemme know in the replies.
- The gift box for the doll was the same color and design as Ron’s casket. Thanks from the replies!

36:08 I’ve been desensitized to modern horror/horror games, but man this part genuinely breaks my soul I feel so bad for the poor little kid I want to cry. Such a pure innocent and loving soul, even after thinking his dad was in danger despite what he did to him he decided to “save” him. What a sweet innocent soul. This game breaks my heart. However, I appreciate the developer for this game for giving me a new perspective on children, I never really liked being around kids cause I used to find them annoying but this game did a 180 on me. (Edit, his screams make me wanna cry even more 😢)

No wonder.. I thought Mr.RedFace actually beat the dad but the redface was him all along (he was probably being tormented by his conscience after killing his son that's why he kept begging to stop punishing him and it got even worse when he saw his son's soul). When he visited his father to "save" him he ACTUALLY visited him as a corpse and took the motel card(the spell). Mr.RedFace was finally "defeated" because he gave the motel card to his mom. Bro this actually made me sad,every kid deserves to have a parent but not every parent doesn't deserve to have kids.

The storyline of this game is absolutely genius, how everything pieces together, but also incredibly sad. Also, the FIRST time the kid tries to open the closet, I noticed that the doll says "The closet is *still* stuck...?" 10:03 idk that's just something I noticed that kinda implies that it happened before...
For anyone confused about the storyline, here’s what I gathered. So Ron was in an abusive household and one day after a horrible argument between his mom and dad, his dad snapped and killed him, before hiding the body in the closet. The mom found the son in the closest and although not a good mother, still mourned the loss. The other children we see are kids who were also in an abusive family and where they were represents where they were found(kid sitting by fire; body was burnt, kid in the back of the truck; found in the back of the truck, and kid in the hole; buried) Mr red face symbolizes all their abusers/killers, all embodied in one singular entity to help them pretend that the one that killed them wasn’t someone they loved, but some evil monster. This game is hella depressing

The saddest death in my opinion for the kids was the truck trunk death imagine your dad just throws you in a trunk and leaves you there for 3 days leaving you to die

But one thing they couldn’t do anything to stop it they had to accept the betrayal as they die slowly if you died fast like Ron or the kid in the campfire you went fast but painfully mentally and physically but if you were running out of air in a grave you had time to think about why they did and what you did for it to happen
Bro the foreshadowing is so good, like when ever we go to see our dad in the hotel we say “Dad come on, let’s go home”. And we see that when we haunt him, we are also saying “Let’s go home” over and over again
since caseoh is a bit late to the bad parenting thingy i wanna clear a few things up. the part where the mom finds ron in her closet is when she finds ron dead irl. the motel card is the spell card. the untexturted prision the dad was in is the motel. where the kids are is like purgatory of some sorts. the untexturted place the mom was in is the police station.
all the events that transpire while ron has mini ron are all post death. including when the doll drinks the beer trying to jog ron's memories abt his own passing.

I read from a previous comment that the game was made by a Vietnamese creator. In Vietnamese culture there is a supposed thing (forgot the word) where you can see spirits at night but not in the day which is why the mother didn’t find the son until 14 days. She saw her son’s spirit because she was always out late and the day she stayed home she realised she was not seeing him which led her to see that something was wrong and search for her child, therefore only discovering then that he had died.

As someone who has a dad who’s a “Mr. RedFace” and a mom who constantly breaks promises this made me shed a tear. Luckily, my dad is doing a little better nowadays! ❤

i just keep thinking about this game. so the scenes where the dad is talking about being punished, in his point of view, the child is dead and tormenting him. and the scene with the mom, and throwing the "spell" was actually the child throwing the motel card. it did defeat the red faced man, because the dad was arrested. gosh this game was a breath of fresh air after so many lower quality ones. a game that leaves you thinking and realizing stuff when you're trying to fall asleep is an incredible one. (the drinking scene as well, where the doll matches how the dad drank.)
edit: i also love that the abuse wasn't thrown in as a lazy shock factor, it was extremely relevant to the story and made it what it is. too many things when it comes to horror has randomly throw in trauma to shock the audience, but it holds no actual worth other than a cheap surprise. loved this.

Here’s what I’ve gathered of the full story just in case some of you need to know.
The story begins with the kid(Ron) being alive, talking to his mom late at night on his birthday. He is alive until the first encounter with “Mr RedFace”. During the cutscene, we see Mr redface move towards the closet instead of leaving the doll there and going away. This is foreshadowing to how it turns out the father is Mr redface and Ron hallucinates that he is Mr redface after his mom tells him about Mr redface. When Ron wakes up to find the doll, it tells Ron that he has the same name and looks the same as Ron. When Ron says “your neck is a little loose”, it is foreshadowing how Ron died to his father snapping his neck. The doll is trying his best to give Ron the hint that he’s no longer alive, by taking him to visit the other children in the afterlife, and showing him that he can’t really eat anything because he’s dead, but Ron still hallucinates that he is eating and it’s just refilling. When they visit the dad in the afterlife, no matter what Ron says to him, he replies with “please..stop…punishing…me..” because he is regretting killing his son and sees his dead son haunting him, but Ron does not realize it.
Most of the game after that scene is Ron hallucinating in the afterlife until the moment that Mr Redface jumpscares us. At that moment we are having a flashback of the father killing Ron from Ron’s perspective, but Ron sees him as Mr Redface. We then witness the conversation between our parents the night before our dad gets drunk and murders us. After that, our mom finds Ron dead in the closet with a snapped neck. She’s goes to the police, and when they ask her of her husband’s current location, Ron’s ghost acts as a poltergeist and puts the hotel key card on the floor next to her, helping solve the case and put the father behind bars to rot for life. The last part of the game is us getting to go to the afterlife, realizing that the other kids there were also dead. Ron being dead for 14 days finally gets to rest in peace.

At the end, it gives us hints how the other children died and how they were found. For instance, the red-haired one died from being burned, the black-haired kid possibly got buried alive. I can't really tell what the third child's was, and the main character was found in a closet.
the third one probably died from being kidnapped and stuck in the trunk of the car in hot weather, causing them to suffocate
