TIP: In dancesport cha-cha in restricted pre-bronze, the way to avoid overturning the New Yorker to the point that this risky turn would result in a more "back to back position" of cha-cha than a normal amount of turn (usually ending traditional L Side-by-Side or R Side-By-Side) is this - for the man, be sure that the leader's eyes closest to the partner's side are not too deviated from the follower - that is, after the New York is done, be sure that you can see some of your partner on that check action in the New Yorker. If you cannot see some of your partner somewhat at the end of the New Yorker, you are overturning that New Yorker, and this can result in the couple being penalized for open work if a judge catches you doing that. Another tip - don't turn your head too much away from your partner at the apex (or climax) of the New York.
As a rule of thumb, the normal amount of turn is 1/4 turn for each New York - you can overturn something like to the point of being a 3/8 turn (an extra 1/8 turn) to allow for the body contours and bends during the New York turn but no more than that.

Kim is wearing the brand "Ray Rose". But it's a very high heels, which depending on your goals may or may not be right for you. You may want to try more social dance friendly shoes, if these don't work out.
