"Badluram ka Badan" ("Badluram's Body") is the regimental song of the Assam Regiment of the Indian Army. Major M. T. Proktor created the song in honour of Rifleman Badluram, a soldier of the Assam Regiment of the British Indian Army who died from a gunshot wound while fighting against the Imperial Japanese Army in World War II. After Badluram's death, the quartermaster CQMH (company quarter master havildar) Kandarpa Rajbongshi could not remove his name from the rations roster since the company's communications were cut off by the Japanese forces and the company continued to draw rations in Badluram's name. This extra ration helped the company survive through a siege when Japanese troops surrounded them during the Battle of Kohima and supplies were cut. Accordingly, the song was composed in Badluram's honour with the lyrics "We get rations because Badluram's body is buried beneath".

Former US army here... That is some of the strongest regimental pride I have ever seen. That song is an old American song from around our civil war.... Glory Glory Hallelujah... 🇮🇳🇺🇲
I read the story behind the song. What a story. Stopped the Japanese advance into India and helped bring WW2 to a victorious end. To our former and current allies the Indian Army... I salute you.

But all colonial things should be changed it should not represent our country army or ancient sites... Hope goverment will take actions & remove it leagly just like they did before by replacing national anthem of brits to Indian & by replace britis Navy flag to Indian. We had alot better songs than this we should be proud of our heritage this show our colonial mindset still not change

@whateverrandom7879 I'll start from northeast... In british era they always wanted to make seprate country for cristen in ASIA... So they called missionaries from London to northeast... Why northwast becoz they were tribal ppl it's easier to convert them & northeast land is also too much fertile for tea plantation rich of natural resources... So they convert mostly all community like kuki... But they can't convert community like meiti as they refuse them... So Brits introduced some laws which favour to only those who r cristen till now it's in our constitution... Like for example northeast ppl can purchase land in all over India but others states ppl can't purchase land in northeast many other discriminative laws ... Now also in northeast uk & west funds alot to cristen missionary & hostel to somehow convert left ppl & in southern states they started in west in Punjab. & In SoniaGandhi period they missnary was to active that our genral army chief said we afraid of internal issues not by external...
Think of why north south devide voice suddenly rise , why khalistan, kasmir ,dravidistan & now east west. Always remember they only want weak & divided India as we r only one who can question them about colonialism... Africa is still thire colony they not manage by army but by thire proxy... I have miss alot points & mixed some point sorry for that....

But it's the Regimental Song of Assam Regiment,an Infantry Regiment of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles is a Paramilitary Force of India not included in the Indian Army..btw both are the protecters of our Great Country INDIA

It's the Regimental Song of Assam Regiment, an Infantry Regiment of the Indian Army..and those who don't know Assam Regiment and Assam Rifles both are different..Assam Regiment is an infantry regiment of the INDIAN ARMY and Assam Rifles is a Paramilitary Force of India which is not a part of Indian Army...this song is sang in every event after the events ends and all the Soldiers, JCO's and Officers sing this song in full energy...My father is also in Assam Regiment and we are currently in Assam Regimental Centre, Happy Valley, Shillong...and we sing this song whenever there is an event.
