  • A jubilant crowd of Christians from St. Theresa Parish Esu gathered to warmly welcome His Grace Archbishop Andrew Fuanya Nkea on a 48-hour pastoral visit. The Archbishop arrived in Esu on the evening of January 21, 2025, at 5:00 pm, following a stopover in Weh, where he celebrated Mass with the local Christian community.
At the gateway to Esu, a sea of enthusiastic Christians and school pupils, led by Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Ferdinand and Parochial Vicar Rev. Fr. Augustine Awemo Awemo, eagerly awaited the Archbishop's arrival. As Bishop Nkea stepped out of his vehicle, he was met with beaming smiles and warm handshakes.
The Archbishop's entourage proceeded to the parish, accompanied by the melodious singing of primary school pupils and various Christian groups donning their vibrant uniforms.
On January 22, 2025, Archbishop Nkea will celebrate a Pontifical High Mass, during which he will administer the sacrament of confirmation to over 160 candidates.
The Archbishop is accompanied by a delegation comprising Rev. Fr. Victor Fogoh, Archdiocesan Finance Administrator; Rev. Fr. Charles Ngoubi, Catholic Education Secretary; Rev. Derick Che Cheo, Chancellor of the Diocese; Madam Priscilla Agendia, Director of Communication; and others.
Delegations from Furawa, Pwep, Nser, Akum, and other mission stations across the vast parish are also in attendance.
As the parish eagerly anticipates the Archbishop's message during the Mass, they are filled with hope and expectation, knowing that his presence often heralds good news and blessings.
