- I reveal a quick trick on how to manually operate the sunroof incase it gets stuck open (or closed) but still manage to get wet installing a new (old) switch.

3:25 i love your awkward humor, man XD Can`t get enough!
5:25 Literally, I’m having a dinner and watching this😅 Make me laugh
Wow! So that's what "just in time manufacturing" looks like. No testing or faffing about, just plug and play... 😄👍
That was a close one! :D Loved the video!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
Well done. Good to see the old girl getting some attention. Neat idea for making it all work.
Thanks! Working sunroof has given us some much needed air con this summer
Had the same problem with my 940 sunroof - I burned-out several sunroof switches - the contacts were continually burning out. So I removed the electric motor./drive unit and replaced it with a manual winder unit - This was quite simple - I just had to modify the small cog on the manual unit. The manual unit is perfect and appears as if it has always been there. I never checked out the sunroof motor - but my guess is that there was a short in the windings which caused the switch to be overloaded.
Bloody hell just in time Quality buddy nice fix
Thanks mate!
A month ago, I bought 1993 Volvo 1993 940 Wagon. I’m looking forward to getting my sunroof open for the Midwestern and Southeastern summer.
The wagons are such great summer cruisers!
Always use a sharp knife to remove wire sleeve saves you cutting through
I normally use one that's thinner than paper but didn't have it with me then, so made a hash of it with crappy tools as usual :D
Was LMAO with the shot of open boot and your comment: "I could probably fit another 940 in here". It certainly feels like that I must say.
Haha it does right 😄 Thanks for watching this I think it's my lowest ever views video!
@@Involvod Well I loved seeing it, you know how to capture the moments as they happen and it's something I can relate to as I do my car work on a driveway ;-)
@@timbre7999 I feel like I get lucky 😄 And yeah! It's good to know people can relate
Loved it. You're so clever 👨🔧 😄 xxx
Thank you 🙂
There's no off switch for genius! Lol
gonna need that sunroof when that cars finished mate. dont leave it open when all the babes come running up asking for a ride
So true mate who'd have thought old Volvos would be such chick magnets
Nice little repair it’s good to know this little trick incase that ever happens to us 👍
You're in the UK bro no need to open the sunroof :D
@@Involvod lmao this is very true 🤣
Well done man, in the nick of time.
Could have prevented getting wet but decided to have a race for some reason :D
Against the forces of nature :)
Lucky b*stard!! 940's with sunroof are rare! Would love to have one on my 940..
I think that was the nicest thing about that car, now I've got 3 sunroof-less cars and do miss it!
@@Involvod Put a Twingo sunroof in it! 😎👍: th-cam.com/video/BRXKNs4Ks3A/w-d-xo.html
I work on my cars on weekends and being a metal worker by trade Im a constant black finger :). I try to wear my gloves when I work with cars, but honestly U just cant get things done with'em.
That's true, although I have been wearing the oil resistant thick purple gloves lately and really enjoying them, they have grip and no more screwdriver stab marks
Do you have the old switch haha?
Please treat yourself to a set of wire strippers and the correct crimp tool for these jobs. 20 Euros.
You know they make strippers right? Lol
We dont care about dirt on your hands 😊 no dirt, no jobs done 😁
