  • We were so excited to start our cruise out of Port Canaveral on the MSC Seashore! This video Vlog highlights part 1 of our adventure- embarkation day. This was our first time on an MSC ship, and we were so intrigued by the differences with other cruise lines. Stay tuned for several more videos in this series, as we travel on to explore the Bahamas for this 4 night cruise.

    Yep. 1st cruise ever... Think I was 23. Missed the flight, missed the cruise. Flew to Nassau. Met the boat the next day. I call it my "vacation within a vacation". Haven't missed the boat since!

    So glad I found your channel when searching Seashore videos! We embark on February 15th, my first MSC cruise. We are regular RCL passengers so excited and a little nervous for new things! Also working towards minimalism and hopes of moving to Florida as empty nesters in a few years.

    So regarding the muster drill. This is how I believe they designed it. To recreate a real emergency situation., hence the chaos. I can relate as we did this many of times while I was in the Navy

      Hi Daniel! That’s interesting to hear that you were in the Navy, and dealt with situations like this. Thanks for your service, by the way! The muster drill certainly was a little chaotic to figure out. But you could be right, maybe that was their intent. ❤️

    Very nice. We had one bad experience on a ship with people and dinner on one sailing so we just went to the specialty dining and buffet. But all our other experiences were great and if its going to be just my husband and I we ask for a table for two or a private table. I'm looking forward to seeing your trip videos. Thank you for sharing.

      Thanks for sharing, Carol! It sounds like you had an experience somewhat similar to ours at one point with the dining. We had never experienced anything like that before, and hopefully we won’t have to again. We have been seated with others before, but never felt so awkward. That’s good to know that you requested the private tables for you and your husband and it worked out. 😊

      @@weinkeworldadventures We've been cruising MSC since 2016 and are Diamond MSC Voyager's club members. When our kids were younger we were Disney cruisers and left them when the kids grew up and the Disney prices started to go through the roof. We mostly cruise in the MSC Yacht Club and we love the ship within a ship concept. I love the design of the Seashore too; the bridge of sighs, the live jazz in the Brooklyn Cafe every evening is also something we love too. We love Butcher's Cut, and the Yacht Club beach at Ocean Cay. The Yacht Club just gives us everything my wife and I look for in a cruise vacation at this stage of our lives right now. The exclusive luxury feel, the private pool, restaurant and lounge are all an excellent value for the cost.

      I’m sure you are going to have an amazing time. And how cool that you and your husband can go with your twin teenagers!
      In terms of parking, we just parked at the parking ramp right next to the cruise terminal, which was about $17 per day rental. This was really convenient for us, as we walked up our luggage and were able to get off the ship very quickly. However, if you have a lot of luggage and plan to have your luggage brought off the ship for you by the stewards, it may mean that you need to wait quite a while to get off the ship to meet your luggage, as they call people off in groups that way. If this is the case,I have heard the elevator in the parking garage can be very jammed as there are so many people trying to use it at once. So…There are also several other park and shuttle options nearby that are around $13 dollars a day and up. In this case, it may be easier to shuttle with them, and not have to worry about taking the elevator on your way back. Just a thought. Here is one example for you to check out: portparkingspace.com/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAtt2tBhBDEiwALZuhAJEPdXmJQHHcsP7khpcAdXqAxh2xKNus7gpJNF5hecY0prqhu5K7FhoCTVAQAvD_BwE

    Going on our first MSC Seashore cruise out of Port Canaveral in May. I'm having a hard time finding the link to reserve a parking spot. I found one but it kept reloading the page when trying to pay for it.

    • @weinkeworldadventures
      @weinkeworldadventures  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s exciting that you are going on the Seashore in May! I will paste the official Port Canaveral site below that contains info on parking. Actually, you don’t pay ahead and can’t make a reservation, but you just pay as you drive in with a kiosk before you drive into the parking ramp.
      I would go and drop the luggage off first at the drop off by the teminal entrance and the porters can handle that for you before you go to park. The ramp is right next to the terminal. Now if you are looking at offsite parking, there are options for that as well, and you would be taking a shuttle over to the terminal. However, I don’t have information on specifics, and you would need to look into those separately. Good luck to you, and I hope you have a great cruise!

    • @weinkeworldadventures
      @weinkeworldadventures  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh, by the way, when we parked, there was plenty of room in the parking ramp by the terminal. We didn’t get there until about 2:30 PM, and there was still plenty of room. So I wouldn’t worry about running out of room to park there. 😎

    just booked our first cruise and will be sailing from PC as well. just wondering a couple things....is it all garage parking or did you have to pay extra? and at what point do you turn luggage over to the boat crew? or do you even have to check luggage? love your videos so far.. very informative

    • @weinkeworldadventures
      @weinkeworldadventures  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you so much! You must be so excited for your first cruise! When do you sail? Sailing out of Port Canaveral is pretty easy. There are parking ramps next to each terminal, but you do have to pay for the parking there. Right now it’s $17 per day That you pay when you drive in. There are also places off site that are private that you can park for a little cheaper and they will shuttle you there. Here’s the information from the Port Canaveral site that might be helpful for you: www.portcanaveral.com/Cruise/Directions-Parking

    • @weinkeworldadventures
      @weinkeworldadventures  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Once you get to the terminal and either walk over from the parking ramp, or are dropped off there by a shuttle or Uber, you will be right at the front entrance and that is where the porters are to take your luggage if you want to check it with them. You will get luggage tags from the cruiseline in your final paperwork that need to be attached to any pieces of luggage you want to check. It’s very convenient, and they deliver them right to your state room. You usually just tip about a dollar or two per bag. You may also carry on some of your luggage, and should carry on any valuables, medications, etc that you might have. The only issue is, sometimes you can’t get to your cabin right away, so anything you bring for carry-on you will need to drag around with you on the ship until your cabin is ready. I hope you have a great cruise! 😎🛳️

    hey....another question if I may....what are your thoughts on the Internet/wifi packages on MSC? worth it? and can you text/call normally while at sea? (PC to Bahamas in our case)

    • @weinkeworldadventures
      @weinkeworldadventures  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question. That is really relative depending on what you need to use the Internet or Wi-Fi for. I am not sure of the prices, but there is a link below with information.
      We opted not to get anything on board, and chose to try to “unplug” while we were at sea. However, I did turn on my cell phone while we were in Nassau, since we have Verizon and it was only $10 to use the “Travelpass” there for the day through my cell signal. (Talk, text, data) You may want to check with your carrier to see how much you would be charged with that option. Since the ship is close enough to shore, we could use it until we sailed away as long as we had a signal, so that was really nice.
      Oh, we also were able to use our cell phones at Port Canaveral until we started sailing away.
      However, as soon as you are starting to sail out to sea, you will want to put your phone on airplane mode and not use your cell signal. Otherwise, you will have huge charges on your cell bills.
      Here’s some information on what the ship offers in terms of their Internet and Wi-Fi :

    My family and I went on this ship for the week of thanksgiving giving and the way they do things on that ship is very disorganized and frustrating . It took us 2 hours to embark on the ship. The ship was late leaving port by 3 hours or so. Our rooms were not ready when we arrived and we had to ask for multiple things that should already be in our room when we arrived. We checked in our suitcases before embarking but didn’t receive them until about midnight. Our waiter for the restaurant did a very good job. However the bartenders seemed like they had no idea what they were doing. They were running around like a headless chickens. Especially when we reached the private island. The elevators kept breaking down and hot tubs stopped working. There was an incident on the second day of someone getting trapped inside one of the elevators and the alarm button didn’t work. Disembarking on the last day was an absolute nightmare. They had all 4000 passengers or however many there were in a line throughout the whole ship back and forth through obstacles they made with all the chairs and it took over an hour get get off. Everyone was pissed off. But besides all that I still had a good time with my family. But my god there system of doing things needs to change completely.
