@@ynomusic6164 Summarizing history by decades offers a broad perspective on the unfolding of events, trends, and developments. Historical analysis and reporting aren't one-dimensional. For instance, considering artists like Kirk Franklin and John P. Kee, their contributions span six decades. However, artists akin to Lecrae, who is currently 43 years old with a 22-year career, were not prominent figures during those earlier decades. It's essential to clarify that I never suggested that no church had ever incorporated elements like 808s before Kanye West (I'm being sarcastic). Such a notion would be overly simplistic. Nevertheless, when discussing the evolution of Christian Rap, it's worth noting that this genre doesn't have the extensive historical roots of Gospel Music, which, when considering tribal spiritual influences, dates back even further than the (unpopular at the time) 19th century's Gospel Music. Gospel Music itself faced challenges in gaining acceptance, with some still remaining skeptical. Therefore, when I mention that Christian Rap wasn't as popular a decade ago, it's based on observable trends in the music charts. While contemporary/modern churches may have featured songs similar to those in question, the point I'm making is that the energy of the new Christian Rappers can inject new life into Gospel Music today.
Someone close to me sadly passed a few weeks back and he was an amazing baseball player and this was his walk up song and now I listen to it every time I miss him(which is everyday) and it is soooooo good and I just love it

Heard this at a youth football game and it has been on repeat ever since. Me and my special needs daughter kept dancing to it. Looking around realizing that no one noticed that it was a Christian rap song yet but everyone was jamming. By the the time the song was done people were singing. Beautiful sight to see especially in the world that we are in today. When the word of god is being overshadowed by celebrities or influential people trying to subconsciously recruit good to be evil. Performing rituals and throwing sacrificial parties to convert people whom are weak battered and broken sometimes just plain curiousity could lead you down the wrong path. Continue making music that is good for the mind body and soul
