• What is Coma ? Vegeta...
Apnea test is the "sine qua non" test done for confirmation & certification of brain death, thus the patient is prepared for organ donation afterward.
Certain prerequisites to be met before doing this test are :
1) Presence of sever irreversible brain damage due to an identifiable cause.
2) Absence of any treatable confounding clinical conditions.
3) Absence of brain stem reflexes.
Once all these criteria (1,2 & 3) are met, then only Apnea test is done to confirm brain death, as demonstrated in the video.

What is happening to this patient now?
This patient is Brain Dead. The Heart still beats, but the Brain no longer works, therefore, the patient does not breathe. Confirmation of the Brain's Death must be confirmed. They Removed the patient from the ventilator, and essentially they verified that the patient would not perform any spontaneous Breathing. This patient did not breathe, because His brain did not work, to tell his diaphragm to breathe.

The patient has now must have been cremated and her soul went up to almighty.

@@saptarshibhattacharyaSir can HCO3 act increase from 16 to 18.3 mmol/L from pre to post apnea test within 9 minutes. PCO2 increased from 33.1 to 61.7 mmHg and pH is changed from 7.305 to 7.090. Is there any possibility of chest movements in this case during apnea test

My sister had a contrast ct taken to confirm brain death after an asthma attack. There was not a drop of blood in the brain. The brain curve was just a line, despite the electric shocks, the body had to be artificially warmed both inside and outside, etc. His internal organs were for a good cause, donated. She was so young then. 23 years, wife, mother of 2. 😢❤

The three essential findings in brain death are coma, absence of brain stem reflexes, and apnea. An evaluation for brain death should be considered in patients who have suffered a massive, irreversible brain injury of identifiable cause. A patient properly determined to be brain dead is legally and clinically dead.

Sowie der Anästheisist im Vorgespräch uns nur die harmlosen Risiken erklärt, wie mögliche Heiserkeit nach der OP, nach dem Beatmungs-Tubus, Übelleit usw., aber nichts von ca.700 Narkose-Toten, oder von Narkose-Hilfskräften, die unseren Narkose-Zustand überwachen, weil das Überwachen so langweilig,eintönig und easy sei und der Anästhesist wohl mehrere Narkosen zeitgleich herstellt! DAS UNTERSCHREIBEN WIR ALLE NICHT!

In Österreich, die Widerspruchslösung heißt, auch bei einem Herzstillstand kommt zuerst der Organspende-Wagen und es ist fraglich, ob man da unbedingt reanimieren will, wenn Österreich sooo viele Organe hat!
Also lässt man die Wiederbelebung wohl besser sein und hat Organe.
Für 1 Kranken müssen 3 Oranspender herhalten, da der Patient alle paar Jahre ein neues Organ braucht!
Auch eine Niere hält nur ca.10 Jahre,...wo der Nierenspender gutmütig noch zudem sein Leben zerstörte, da man auch dem Nierendpender verschweigt, dass er später selbst zur Dialyse muss!
Wo, bitte, kommen aber so viel VERUNFALLTE /Organe her?
Der Notstands-Paragraph erlaubt sicher einen Nichtspender-Kandidaten, ohne (maulende) Angehörige, dessen Organe zu "klauen, bei dringemdrß Bedarf.
Klar, nur Unreife, unter 30 (26%Spender) glauben der Hirntod-Verharmlosung, mit wichtig klingenden vorgesagten Fachbegriffen,...aber 74% überzeugten, reifen Nichtspendern konnte die Organspende-Mafia bisher nichts vorplaplappern!

Dann verschweigen ja auch Nephrologen, Urologen, dass der Nierenspender Jahre später, mit nur noch 1 Niere, SELBST ZUR DIALYSE MUSS UND ZUDEM MEIST BLUT IM URIN HABEN WIRD,... AN FATIGUE/SCHLAFKRANKHEIT LEIDET !

Der Hirntod wird nur von dem Ethikrat,...wenige Hansel, als erwiesen angesehen.
Mehr als 70% zweifeln, allerdings auch Fachleute, den Hirntod an.
Die DIVI-Studie, also das Pflegepersonal zweifelt den Hirntod auch an, wo die ja diese Zuckungen mitbekommen, während der Transplations-Vorbereitungen !
Auch auf den Monitoren, Überwachungen sieht man, wie das Adrenal und der Herzschlag zu rasen beginnen, sobald man den Brustkorb aufsägen will.
Viele OP-Schwestern kündigten deshalb schon, da sie das nicht verantworten wollen!

Tödicher Apnoe-Test / TH-cam schauen,...da sagt ein Arzt, wie man Schädelverletzungen gar nicht behandeln versucht, den Patienten retten könnte, indem man den Gehirndruck mindern könnte!
Doch man versucht da einen Hirntoten daraus zu machen,...was auch so nebenbei mit zuviel Schlafmittelverabreichung klappt.
Zuviel Schlafmittel erzeugt eine Null-Linie im EEG.
Egal wieviel Ärzte dann den "Hirntod" feststellen!
Zum Glück sind bei uns die Hintod-Voruntersuchungen schon ca.5000€ teuer, ....unsere Krankenkassen das nicht zahlen, ....wie die "Hirntod-Feststellung" in Österreich sehr wohl vom Staat zumindest bezahlt wird!
Ergo melden unsere Kliniken gar nicht mehr jeden Gehirn-Verletzten oder möglichen Organspende-Kandidaten der Eurotransplant!

Dann sind zudem diese Hirntod-Voruntersuchungen sehr grausam!
Der Apnoe/Erstickungstest oder Kneifzangentest der ja zeigen soll, ob der """'Hirntote"""" noch Lebenszeichen/Resktionen zeigt!
Ich stolperte 'mal über ein Video, indem [...leider verpixelt...] diese schmerzhaften Tests vorgeführt wurden!
Schemenhaft sah man, wie die Patienten sich hilflos wehrten!
Ich weiß nicht, ob dieses Video nicht schon 'rausgenommen wurde, um die Organspender nicht abzuschrecken!
ARD-Mediathek hatte auch bis vor Kurzem noch eine Doku :"30% Hirntod-Fehldiagnosen", wo Ärzte auch darin wieder sagen, dass es zur Hirntodfeststellung gar keine Ausbildung gäbe und darum Soviele vom "Hirntod" wieder erwachten!

Ich bin seit 15 Jahren praktizierender Intensivpfleger und habe mich für die Organspende von mehr als 20 hirntoten Patienten eingesetzt. Es gibt einen Unterschied zwischen Hirntod- und Komapatienten. Der erste ist irreversibel. Ihre Beispiele liegen im Koma Patienten...nicht im Hirntod...und Organspende ist das Letzte, was man nach seinem/ihrem Leben für die Menschheit tun kann...sie rettet viele Leben...

Better term to describe it is unresponsiveness, not coma, as comatose patients remain alive.

Look up……brain death is a scam and get your loved ones out of these butcher hospitals that want nothing but your organs as they fetch a handsome price for the doctors. Dieser test bezeugt nur das ein patient nicht selbstständig atmet, das die netzhaut nicht zu reizen ist usw. Alle negativen testergebnisse sagen aber nichts über den Hirntod aus. Beispiel: die vitalkurve geht steil nach oben als Angehörige ans bett traten. Temperatur stieg an. Während sich die Angehörigen vom patienten verabschiedeten liefen einige tränen aus den geschlossenen augen, die herzfreyuenz änderte sich, ebenso der puls und der Blutdruck. Alles für mich wiederum Beweise das der Patient nicht Hirntod ist.

I agree with you I've seen once when a young girl was declare brain and was on her way to theatre to have her organs removed she pressed hard on her mum's hand because she could hear everything so the mum object to have her organs removed and she's still alive to this day.

It would be better to expose the chest and abdomen to observe for any respiratory movements
The patient is connected to vitals monitor. Any respiratory activity will be recorded over the monitor. You can clearly see that the monitor is showing a RR of 0/min

It's a test for pronouncing brain death. Good, definitive test for brain death that keeps organs viable for transplant.
Spinal reflexes will be there( as brain death leads to disinhibition of spinal cord reflexes) ,causing muscle twitching, mimicking chest movement...
In case of any doubt, always repeat Apnea test 6hrs later..

Yes..I haven't shown it...can be found at times in brain dead patients...
The Lazarus sign or Lazarus reflex is a reflex movement in brain-dead or brainstem failure patients, which causes them to briefly raise their arms and drop them crossed on their chests (in a position similar to some Egyptian mummies).
I gather this is happening to perpare this patient for organ retrival.

you must detach all the iv before you can perform the test, otherwise the results will be not reliable.

you should have disconnected A L L of the IVs during the apnea test, just like you disconnected the breathing tube. I am presuming you are physician, do you know that any form of paralysing agent or anaesthesia render the results invalid? Of course a patient on such medication will show absence of respiratory efforts- this is why surgery patients under influence of these medications are put on mechanical ventilator. @@icubbsr
Thanks for your inquiry...Before doing Apnea test certain prerequisites are, patient is NOT on any sedatives, anaesthetic drugs, low sugar, electrolyte imbalance....then only Apnea test done.

It's called fluid overload. Common in patients that are heavily sedated or comatose, bed tilted downward and receiving IV fluids.

@@icubbsrSir, if apnea test is continued and PaCo2 increased from 33.1 mmHg to 61.7 mmHg. Does HCo3 plays any role in apnea test result there is HCo3 mentioned in apnea result. For my patient Bilateral pupils dilated and unresponsive to light, oculocephalic reflex absent, gag reflex absent, cough reflex absent, oculocardiac reflex absent. Mid line shift uncal herniation present craniectomy done but not recovered removed ventilator two days post surgery. I was not in ICU, but I see heart beating after removing ventilator. No ancillary test apart from this. This started as blood clot in right side of brain and further haemmorhagic stroke happenedin right side and midline shift after craniectomy got brain stem bleed. But for 1 day before getting haemmorhagic stroke patient involuntarily moving right side leg but left side of body is paralyzed and patient is responding verbally also but as haemmorhagic stroke happened patient slowly became unresponsive. No ancillary test apart from brain stem reflex test and apnea. Please tell whether patient is alive and with this condition does the patient feel pain
Apnea test is done to check that there is no respiratory effort when ventilator is removed....so HCO3 has no role in it.
Heart beat will be there, only absence of respiration is tested.
In your case if brain stem reflexes are absent and apnea test is positive, then the patient is brain dead.
