    The graphs from Mind Monitor were really neat to see. It was so clear when the certain frequencies changed amplitude. Also very interesting to see that the amplitudes leveled out or flat-lined during the meditation instead of being randomly wavy like usual.
    Keven mentioned that his medical-grade eeg data showed the same results. I'm interested in seeing what those graphs/data look like compared to the muse, if you have access to that data? Just interested from a student standpoint who is researching eeg data.

    Cody, from a neuroscience perspective, do you think there is a physiological difference between a gratitude meditation and a compassion meditation? Would these produce different brain wave patterns?

    I use 7.8 frequency when meditating and if my eyes are open things start to pixel and look holographic..I’ve had a butterfly’s aura pop up in front of me..is this normal for people? Remember those pixel pics that came out a long time ago? If you stared at one long enough a picture would be inside of it..that’s what it’s like but no picture yet 😂 also it’s like the back of my head is heating up..can I monitor this activity somehow without going and getting a muse device or would that be pointless? I’m just really curious if something is wrong or I’m experiencing what others have before🥰🙏

  • @McLKeith
    @McLKeith 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Cody, I downloaded your meditation guide and found it amazing. Especially the part about keeping the eyes closed.
    I used to keep my eyes open for two reasons. First, many Zen teachers say having the eyes open makes it easier to take that calm or samadhi into daily life. Second, before when I meditated with my eyes closed, I mistook calm for drowsiness. Long story made short, my Muse graph has me being calm up to 89% of the time now.

    • @CodyRallMD
      @CodyRallMD  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow Keith, thanks for the feedback on the meditation guide. I am very glad you enjoyed and got value from it!

    • @xaviermchot
      @xaviermchot 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's interesting. I'm keeping my eyes open because of Zen too, and I'm just doubtful on how to keep them during the calibration. If with eyes closed you're naturally calmer, is it not cheating keeping them closed during the meditation?

    • @uberobserver
      @uberobserver 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xaviermchot It isn't cheating, but those who wish to maintain the mode of consciousness outside of the practice have the right idea to allow the intrusion of the visual stimulus. Eyes open in a dark room should suffice.

    When the muse application does the calibration, do the birds and calm state shown are in relation to the baseline level of the calibration or they are absolute mental states which you can compare among different sessions and different people?

    Around may last year 2020, I have my first ever SEIZURE -clonic tonic type, for alittle over a year now , I had seizures at least 5 times, / 3 where grandmal and the other two " focal impaired awareness" .and since June of this year I have woken up soaked being incontinent , just as if I had a grandmal attack seizure, only having tension headaches afterwards. I'm currently in process with department of veteran Affairs, but honestly I believe their are just as stumped I am. I am 39/40 years old .... NEVER HAD SEIZURES IN MY LIFE, NO HISTORY. I CANT EVEN GIVE YOU MUCH INFORMATION ON FAMILY, Birthmother, my father was healthy a vet himself, but sadly he is no longer alive. I'm looking for some device that could monitor me during the day and while asleep.
