Its officially three years since I first heard this song. Two years ago, I was suicidal, depressed, and trying to survive all of this without therapy or any form of support. This song was a light in the darkness for me.
Last year, I got better, I recovered to a point where I could be alright. I was finally out of the dark. I was okay. I was happy. Everything seemed perfect.
Now, this year, I've fallen back, and I'm in desperate need of a light in the dark again. So here I am. This song is my beacon of hope for recovery, and has been for three years now.
I know you'll probably never see this, Braden, but thank you for this. Thank you for giving me some hope when I needed it the most.

It reminded me of a story I wrote where the main character is depressed and the ending is basically the end of the video; car coming towards him but we don't find out if it hits him. In a way it's sad but at the same time it's hopeful because maybe the car stopped...but maybe it didn't. However, that looks like his car so maybe it's symbolising him trying to kill off part of him that he doesn't want anymore - think St. Jimmy in Green Day's American Idiot album (if you know it). The line is "Jimmy died today he blew his brains out into the bay in the states of mind it's my own private suicide", Jimmy is the main characters alter ego who he eventually realises is messing him up so he kills him off. Which brings us back to the point, maybe the end was symbolising the potential death of his self conscious and "worthless" side?
