I don't see anyone else going into the martial arts aspect of Kengan as informed as you. Just great content, and recontextualizes a lot of these fights, to make me appreciate them even more.

Just finished, and I wholeheartedly agree, I’ve noticed his lack of general elbow and knee use before, but when you put it all together like this, you can see plain as day that Gaolang is a Boxer that uses Muay Thai movements, but a Boxer at heart. He definitely has nowhere to go but up from here as a striker!

On the note of Kaolan becoming stronger you gotta wonder if he's secretly been taking grappling lessons to makeup for that blind spot in much the same way Arashiyama started incorporating strikes into his style.
Of course he wouldn't bother using throws against a master like Arashiyama but with his next potential opponents you never know.
It would be in character afterall.
