Steven, Your post validated the changes I made in grinding our reels and bed knives at the golf course I've been working at for the past 3 months. I've been a brake and alignment tech. for 8 years. I understand what adjustments are in our control, what isn't and how to meet specs. The past crew set the knives and reels to the stone and hit "RUN". I am fixing coned reels and inconsistent bed knives. I will show your video to my boss.
This is really cool Stephen! I am a mekanik working in sweden with mowers for 15 years. I completely agree with your grinding thoughts but... in the area the manufactures won't us to to work in when we talking marginals of mm/inch the aggregates is to week. I grind the beam every 3 year and we find the beam very week, just the weight of your finger moves the beam up to a tenth of a mm in a jigg. So you can be master in grinding but the material is not up to your work!!!
