AMERICAN IDOL, the iconic series that revolutionized the television landscape by pioneering the music competition genre, will return to airwaves on SUNDAY, MARCH 11 at 8|7c, at its new home on ABC.
The nationwide search for the next superstar kicked off in August 2017, as the Idol Bus traveled from Portland, Oregon, to Orlando, Florida, in its pursuit for talent, covering 23 cities across the country. Auditioning was made easier than ever as hopefuls also had the opportunity to submit audition videos online, as well as via select social media platforms using an official tag, #TheNextIdol, cultivating over 300,000 posts. Also, for the first time in “American Idol” history, hopefuls had the opportunity to audition through a livestream platform.
Helping to determine who America will ultimately vote for to become the next singing sensation, are music industry forces and superstar judges, Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Emmy® Award-winning host and producer Ryan Seacrest will return as host of the beloved series.

My eldest son texted me today and said I love you mom. I asked him what he did or what he needed from me...he laughed and said I just want you to know I love you. Later in the evening he came by and told me he watched a video of this guy who wrote a song for his mom on AI and he cried. He felt he had to tell me how he felt so he texted me. I found the video tonight and I could only wish I could call my mom and tell her how much I still love her. What a beautiful tribute he gave his mom.

This literally touched my heart so hard...almost choked when I was eating❤
The words of that song went straight to my heart ❤️. I was there with my Daddy alone when he went into an unresponsive state with cancer that had in 16 days spread to his entire body. I was the one chosen by the Lord to be with Dad during this time for two reasons, being the eldest, I had to let him know he could let go that we would be ok and because I had to calm him with my voice. I didn’t know what to do and I heard a voice that said hymns so I sang all the old ones Daddy love until my family returned to the hospital. Losing a parent to something so viciously brutal is the hardest thing I’ve ever endured!!! Beautiful song!

There is nothing wrong with his voice. It is deep and rich and full of pain. If we picked our stars on the fact that they can do all the runs and have perfect falsetto then we wouldn’t have the legends like Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, the list goes on. You can be a technically good singer...but an artist, that does not make 👌🏼

I actually met this guy before he was on American idol! He and some of his friends played a gig at a local bar where I live. He came around talking to different people at the bar, and shaking hands. He came up to the table my sister's and I were sitting at. He's a super nice guy, very talented!
